Re-Organizing My CD Collection | Almost 700 CDs 

I have thousands and am going through the process of adding new ones over the last several years and merging them with the ones already organized. I got a bunch of Ikea Billys and it is a very, very daunting process. I have been collecting CDs since 1990.

I have over 1000 CDs including duplicates of first/early pressed which were made in West Germany, US and Japan ranging from 1982 to present. However there are over 100 hundreds of CDs which had been purged since 2021 and this process takes some time with patience.

I probably have around 500 store bought CDs and an equal amount of bootlegs but I got tired of dusting them all so I only display around 100 . I tried just collecting digital music but I missed the actual tactile experience of handling the disks in the boxes. Have you ever noticed that old CDs in their cases weigh a lot more than new ones?? I recently bought a deep purple from the 80s and it we’d probably twice as much as new cd in the case

You’re a gentle lad, Bryar. A cathartic process indeed. Nothing better than stacking cds into some kinda order which makes sure you’re never short of inspiration or clues as to where they’re to be found! I cuurently have a shelf for : cds that I’ve yet to listen to 2. Best Ofs 3. Various artists 4. Jazz 5. Classical 6. Dance music 7. Discographies of Individual bands 8. Female Singers It certainly helps when I’m trying to locate a specific album! Adjustments are constantly advisable! Arranging by Colour of Spines certainly challenges and rewards the visually stimulated but drives you mad eventually😬🥁 Great Fun. Peace my friend.

I just bought nine cds over the past month or so, seven of which were imported from japan. I think I have about fifty cds now. It's a small collection but its full of music I love so no complaints( except for the sleeves/slipcase/digipack takeover plaguing the cd market) Cds should not be hard to take out of anything nor should they fall out of their confines. My recent haul is Britney Spears 'Britney' album, Charlottes web 1970's film soundtrack, Alstroemeria records Haunted dancehall, fragment reactions, plastik world, and the brilliant flowers albums, ESQUARIA's debut album recollection, Adamkadmons ADAM album, and Syrup comfiture's Blossom album. Now I just need more space lol.

This was fun Bryer, that’s very impressive you sorted out all those CDs in under 10 minutes!😂 Only joking but that’s still impressive you sorted all this in a day! I loved how you did the time-lapse, great music in the background as well!👍💿

Bryer, I have over 11.000 CDs and that would take me double or triple the time. Besides I do not have my collection in one area. But great little video to see what you do. Just a thought, when your collection gets bigger just start a newer area for all those CDs.

Interesting way or organizing everything. I don’t have as many CD’s so I just organize them in one shelf In alphabetical order by name of artist or band. That sounded like music from the Zelda games.
