I'd recommend also writing the repotting date on the tag so you can tell how long the plant's been in that potting medium for, and then decide when to repot it easier. I do it for all my house plants, not just orchids.
Do you let the pots stand in a little water. Here is is recommended(Australia). When the water is nearly gone, it is replaced by pouring water through the pot
Make sure it in the right potting material. Plenty of fresh water, plenty of light (not full sun) and feed with your favourite plant food during the spring and summer. Temperature should be between 16C - 25C
