Re Potting my Lophophora williamsii Cactus Plants - The Peyote Cactus 

Mine isn't growing. (lophophora) All my other cacti are very healthy. What are your annual temperatures? Does calcareous water stop growing?

@@Emre-K Hi Emre, these cacti are very slow growing but if your Loph has not grown at all for a while then I would check over the root system in case there are any hidden pests on the roots etc, and sometimes a fresh re pot into new cactus soil soil can give them a boost back into growth. Our annual temperatures are not great here in Northern Ireland, we are having a heatwave now but normally we get Summer temperatures around 15-24C ( 60-75F ) but our winters are very mild but wet. Yes hard water with high lime calcium and water with a high pH above 7.5 can slow down cacti growth, Lophophora are usually not as fussy as some of the cacti with hard water, but I have noticed a massive difference in my cacti since I switched over to using rainwater 7 years ago, most of the cacti like soft water or rainwater if possible, thanks so much for watching and have a fantastic day XXXX

Lophophoras are such awesome cacti! ❤️ I love them to bits too and it’s so much more enjoyable when the Queen of Cactus and Succulents do its repotting with bits of info and care tips and interesting stories. 🥰 May I ask what do you do with the old potting mix, Lyn and Hans? Do you dispose it or revitalise and repurpose it?

Hi Graeme :-D so happy you love my channel, yes the second Loph had a bad case od Spider mite a few years ago, these cacti are very prone to spider mite attack, the good news is these cacti nearly always make a good recovery from Spider mite damage and the new grow grows from the middle of the plant, sometimes the old scaly damaged skin can flake off too, but often the skin stays scarred but the new grows will be green and come from the middle of the plant and the heads, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful day XXXX

Hi there, Lophophora will do well in a soil mix that is very well draining, I now use a soil mix of 3 equal parts of John innes number 2 Loam, grit and horticultural sharp sand, if I don't have grit then I will use perlite or pumice instead, thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful plant powered Sunday XXXX

@@desertplantsofavalon hey there , tanx for the fast reply ...i just want to ask you one more thing, when do you water then after the repoting? ive purchased 3 online and they arrived bare root so ive prepared the mix as you said ,then just shove them inside their pots but didn't water ....the question here is when to water after repoting? cos here is almost winter but still hot tho -southern Spain to be exact . thank you and have a great day

@@basiliuspetrakis896 Thats wonderful you live in Southern Spain ( lucky you, I am jealous ) after repotting them its best to wait about 10 days before watering, but although its hot I would keep them dry now until next Spring because of the short daylight winter days, I would only give them a bit of water if they show a lot of shrivelling, but keeping them dry will encourage them to rest over the short days and then start up watering from mid March next year, XXXX
