Hi Stu, experts say 80 but I was using 150 to just scuff up the old varnish enough to give it a tooth to hold the new varnish. I hope this helps. A

Can I follow the same step's from bare/sanded down teak? Also what cloth material were you using and do I tack cloth before since I will be down to the wood? Would love your advice. Thanks, -Mike
