My family and friends are so accepting about me being a lesbian. Sometimes I forget homophobia exists. This honestly breaks my heart. Lots of straight people use surrogacy and a gay couple doing it is no different. I wish Dave and his husband the best. They're going to be great parents!

To be fair, Dave chose “friends” like these himself, when he started calling himself a “conservative” and a “believer”. He couldn’t have honestly expected these fuckers to just accept him as he is. But then in the same vid she said religion had nothing to do with what he did and ignored the major issues of sexism in religion and then blamed other religions for what happened. So ive been off her ever since.

Those people talking about gay men "kidnapping children" made me genuinely sad for the world. People who say things like this make me dislike people. I've also never understood why some people associate homosexuality with paedophilia. Two very different things

Imagine thinking that being a good parent to your children is SOLELY determined by your sex and sexual orientation. I feel cheated because I could have sworn that both of my parents were heterosexual Christians. Can I get a refund for my childhood? 🤔

You know, I am Christian. Unfortunately I live in a really rural area (the nearest town is 30 minutes from my house) so there’s not a lot of gay people around here. But if two men were having a baby, I’d be happy and congratulate them. I don’t think it’s right to tell people they can’t have children because their gay/lesbian/whatever. That’s ridiculous.

Let’s be honest: Stuckey did this video to appease the “Christian” mob who wouldn’t have stopped pestering her until she responded to this like they wanted her to. What are the odds that Stuckey - because of her connection to The Blaze - didn’t know that Dave and David wasn’t doing this beforehand? They have been married since 2015 and Rubin wrote about fatherhood in his first book. And do Dave and David REALLY consider Stuckey to be an actual friend? I doubt it. Has anyone noticed how Stuckey’s tone has changed since this? It’s like she wants to be like Candace Owens now.

I think Jaclyn is right in that lgbt people should feel free to be conservative. However when you have actual conservatives acting this way, and mistreating lgbt people so poorly I don’t understand how you can be a ethically responsible lgbt conservative. Because like your tacitly supporting that hate through the support of politicians who have to pander to this hateful conservative base.

Dave has surrounded himself with bigots so I’m not exactly surprised but I’d never say he deserves this because no one deserves bigotry. I do however hope, that Dave reflects on this and thinks about the people he’s surrounded himself with as he starts a family. He has made a career advocating against his own interests and hopefully he’s thinking about how that will effect his children.

I am happy for Dave Rubin, insofar as i can be happy that a total stranger is having children, but I think he's a coward, and he represents a brand of cowardice specific to any american conservative minority who doesnt defend themselves against this kind of bigotry or who projects the issues they face from their own side onto the left. I think that people like him and Blair White and others like them very well could pave the way to a version of conservatism that isnt actively hostile to them if only they stopped allowing religion to dominate the right and stopped letting themselves get stepped on for being outside of the supposed norm.

This reminds me of that Steven Weinberg quote, _"With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion."_ If you take the religion-based parts out of Allie's arguments, then all she has left is... nothing! There are no sufficiently good arguments based upon testable reality which support her bigoted position, and plenty of sound reasons to believe the opposite. Thus she has no good arguments for anyone who don't believe in her religion as she does. Note the "as she does", since plenty of other Christians take entirely different lessons from the Bible than Allie does, and they don't feel the need to be such a bigot. In the end, it's just Allie deciding to interpret the Bible her own bigoted way, and then pawning off the responsibility for having her position on the Bible/God/other like-minded people in her religion. TL;DR: Allie's opinion isn't based in her religion, it's based in her bigotry. She just cherry picks from some parts of her religion as an excuse for her bigotry, while ignoring the other parts which disagree with it and the fact that not everyone accepts her religion as she does.

Conservative LGBTQ+ communities are some of the most subtly discriminated against because a major part of their conservative community don’t see their identities as valid, and on top of that the conservative LGBTQ+ people still stand for these values rather than for progression. For example, a group of conservative gay men voting against the rights of trans women to adopt children out of their own transphobic world view. They’re the most prejudiced towards one another. I think when being conservative becomes extreme is when it’s the most toxic, as of most things. But it’s more dangerous because less people recognize when it’s too extreme. And unfortunately I feel religion is ROOTED in conservatism at this point. Because a big part of the conservative community associate conservative values with classic Christian values- such as man and woman being the only valid marriage. How can you be “a conservative gay person” when conservatives don’t even recognize gay as valid? That doesn’t make sense and it doesn’t make sense to the bigoted conservative community either. They “like your personality” they don’t like you, your choices or the things you’re spreading. How can you think they’re great people? Ahhh the self depreciation just sucks here.

coming from a christian and foster mama. i thank God for them and what they are doing for children. we need more people who love the kids and want to protect them. and be their safe space.

I would expect that same sex couples have a better chance overall at raising a baby/child bc they often times have more invested in obtaining parenthood to start with. A lot of "traditional parents" have oopsie kids, therefore not always having a great chance at raising the child in an optimal way.

Over the past week, Rubin had taken weirdly invasive photos of random folks to mock and shame them on his platform… a mother was amongst them. I literally feel no sympathy and wish him what he deserves.

I liked this video because Jaclyn married us all.

But without the Christian Right we wouldn’t even have American conservatism. Conservatives in the rest of the secular democracies of the world look like moderate American democrats. Without religion dictating their morals and telling them they’re persecuted, none of the other tenets of the right really survive....unless you consider greed to be a tenet. That one would probably survive. Dave deserves as much happiness as he allows himself to have and when he refuses to stand up for himself because he would alienate his meal ticket, I don’t feel a bit sorry for him. Dave’s mistake was thinking that just because he’s an atheist he couldn’t sell his soul to the devil, but that’s exactly what he has (figuratively) done by aligning himself with people who disapprove of his “lifestyle” and forsaking one huge group that couldn’t care less.

This is utterly disgusting the things that are being said to these 2 men who are obviously happily married, Appears to be financially stable, and ready/ Wanting to have children. I was brought up in a Christian household as a child now I'm not super religious but I do remember Being taught that we were supposed to love our neighbors even if they didn't Is completely align with our moral or religious beliefs. Now me personally, I just want everyone to live their best happiest most authentic lives no matter what that looks like. Love is love and That's it. As long as you're not harming yourself or hurting someone else I don't care what you do. Live it up and live your life to the absolute fullest!

My aunt goes to church every sunday, but guess what? Shes one of the most accepting person ive ever met. Shes 76 and was a kids teacher. She doesnt judge anyone, she loves people for them on the inside. She loves her god, but also has the knowledge to know people are going to be different.

Final thoughts. I have a problem with her and her idea that she's allowed to love the person and hate the sin because in her mind what she instigates as sin is a part of who he is as a person. If you hate the sin but not the sinner you hate The sinner. Let's not sugar coat it or beat around the bush. You are hating a part of the human being. The only people who would have a problem with what I just said are people who are brainwashed. To hate a piece of a human being is to hate the human being. They are not separate pieces. You don't get to pick and choose and cherry pick like you do in your religion. If you hate someone being gay you hate the person who is gay that's just a fact and it's not arguable. That is not up for debate. If I was this man and this woman who was supposed to be my friend was saying these things about me they would no longer be my friend.
