In this video, I will troubleshoot a freezer that will not get below 25F and go over the R404A PT chart, refrigeration cycle and troubleshooting charts to find the root cause of the issue.

Could also possibly be power supply issues. Here in outback Australia we often get "Brown out" situations where the incoming power supply drops down from 240V to a low as 150v sometimes even less (Or power surges during electrical storms) Compressors don't like that... especially 3 phase. It's may be unlikely but just food for thought. Knowing how meticulous you are, i honestly doubt you have done anything wrong here! Great video 😊

@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Год назад
It’s a 10TD coil, but if your desired box temp is -10F as opposed to 0F, it would drip your suction pressure. On coolers it’s easy because we want 34F, on freezers it can be set between -10F and 0F.

Another great teaching video. In regards to HH liquid line driers, I have installed many of them on systems after burnouts. I have never installed them on small cap tube systems, though. Let me know what True says. Keep your head up and keep teaching.😊
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Год назад
True says you cant add anything to the system and procedures were followed as per their recommendations. They do allow RX11 flush but it’s not something I would use especially after passing an acid test. Mind you once it’s out of warranty you can do what you feel will be best for the customer.

👏👏👏👏Nice job as always. I had a similar service call on friday, two years old glass door cooler with high low pressure(110 psi) / low head pressure(125 psi) - R404a. The owner didn't want to believe when I told him it was the compressor. Did the same procedure you did just to be sure, recovered the charge, did a deep vacuum and recharge but I got the same result. New compressor coming next week.

you can test the compressor to see if it pumps down and it holds.
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Год назад
No valves on this one, the only way to test for a pump down would be to pinch the line
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH

It’s a cap tube, if it was a TXV it could be a reason for sure.

Two expensive walk in compressors failed on me in one summer right after the install. I drove 5 hrs round trip to pick up the warranty replacements and installed them just the same. This was 4 or 5 yrs ago and both are doing fine. Sometimes the these vapor pumps fail, even if they're new.

@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH
@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH Год назад
It has had 2 fans, so that usually means 15F split. But even if it was a 30F, we would still have high suction and low head, so same result.

On these little systems, it’s hard to cut the lines, there isn’t much piping. How would I reverse a 120V compressor? I wonder if that would of worked.

@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH

Most reach in evaporators are a 20TD. The Condensor is either a 15F or 30F split depending on what the engineer set it at. Most of the newer stuff is a 15F Condensor split

Not because parts are new, are working properly. Every time I get sent to a pm and new units are installed, I always find something. Either something in the install work or from manufacture. A Lennox RTU used as DOAS but the roof curb was open to the unit return from supply and a manual damper open in the return. The thing was recirculating air within. Heat exchanger overheated the entire winter. And unit didn’t work properly in summer for cooling as it would bring on heating right after cooling because the temperature in recirculating air. The worst part, I my visit was the second pm our company had made in this new building. I always see opportunity to find issues in new equipment. And that’s why I alway say “ not because is new, works as it should “. I have found units with no crankcase heater when should have.

It’s a critically charged system, we can add components and even the filter dryer has to be sized exactly the same. I could definitely see us doing that on a bigger system. Have you ever installed that type of filter dryer on a smaller critically charged system like this?
