Now an annual event in its fourth year, “Proms In The Playground” is an initiative that encourages community bands to connect with their local schools by offering a performance in their playground. As well as getting young people excited about brass banding, this initiative helps bands forge and strengthen relationships with organisations around them. For those bands that want to go beyond just a performance, this initiative is an ideal opportunity to offer a taster session so school children can learn about the opportunities available in their local brass bands.

When I was asked to arrange a collection of fun pieces for Brass Bands England’s “Proms In The Playground” initiative, I was more than happy to do so. It’s a brilliant way to engage local schools with music and brass bands, and I hope this set of arrangements will be enjoyable to perform and share with your community all year round.
