You guys are really good: Most reactors don't see that Reacher got gloves in the bar's kitchen, and NOBODY says Reacher's ambush is just like his brother's. Excellent work.
There is a reason for the big holes left by Reacher's pistol. "The Desert Eagle is a gas-operated, semi-automatic pistol known for chambering the .50 Action Express, the largest centerfire cartridge of any magazine-fed, self-loading pistol." according to Wikipedia.
I love this series. It is so entertaining and the writing is well done. As far as plausibility..... no so much. As someone who was a local cop for ten years and a federal agent for another twenty-two, it's hard not to cringe... The murder of a federal agent in a tiny town while pursuing an investigation would bring down a deluge of federal agents onto that town. They would run out of hotel rooms to house them. That said, still very enjoyable.
Editing out the start of this video where Roscoe talks about being recruited by the FBI and CIA was a mistake...important fact that all need to know about her...I'm sure you guys will get better at this. :)
The death of the police chief might draw attention, if it is reported. He is the town's police chief. If the mayor (now the new police chief) doesn't tell anyone outside the town, how would the state or federal people know? Maybe that is why he is the new police chief, to keep everything "in house". Also, you mentioned the federal government getting involved because Joe was killed. Right now, only Molly Beth Gordon at Homeland Security knows and she was asked to keep it quiet. So, once again, why would anyone outside the town be investigating anything? FBI agent Picard is doing Finley a favor to the point that he has taken leave to assist, so he is not reporting anything to the Bureau. With no information flowing out of Margrave, why would anyone be looking into things?
