I was treated for anxiety for 20 years only to find out it was ADHD. Some of the things you said are exactly the things that being treated for anxiety never fixed. The constantly running mind. The ability to hyper focus. If you aren't happy with your current treatment, don't be afraid to reach out to a Dr. The world changed the minute I figured out the right medication and all of the strategies I never knew I could use. Life changing.
Congratulations Anna! 🎉🥳🥳 You have one of the best watercolor channels. Your style is incredible and I love what inspires you, because birds and florals are some of my favorites. I can't imagine anyone saying anything negative about your beautiful work. That's a shame. Please don't let the trolls get you down, they don't like anything..and hate themselves.
Anna, you're a beautiful lady but I don't think its necessary for you to put your face on your videos! Your voice is soothing and lovely. Your painting is engaging and calming. So, I wouldn't worry about putting your face out there if it makes you uneasy!
Thank you for saying that - I didn’t include this in the video but I often struggle with the commonly shared RU-vid advice for growth and what I am actually comfortable doing 😕 I think I will only occasionally manage to go on camera and keep it to “hands only” otherwise because that’s what matters 🩷 trolls are just a part of social media experience at this point, it used to upset me but these days I am not bothered usually and if it gets particularly nasty (like direct insults) I just block. Have a wonderful day and thank you again for sharing your thoughts on all this 💕💕💕
I enjoy hearing your calm, soothing voice as you narrate what you are doing. And your artwork is some of the best I have seen, if not the best. I cannot imagine anyone finding fault with your videos. Not everyone with an opinion deserves to be heard. Some people will always find something negative to say. Don’t let those people take up any space in your head. This portrait is gorgeous to me.
Congratulations on reaching 100k! Your skills are world class and anyone who's being negative toward you is either jealous or a random bot. Seriously, do what you feel is best for you and trust your instincts. You don't have to show your face if it makes you uncomfortable and you don't need to spend a lot on equipment or do a lot of fancy editing. (Honestly, less is more) The quality, calm and integrity of your work shines through, even from your first video, so bravo! You're an amazing artist and I love watching you paint. 💜
Congrats! I love your work, it's always very thoughtful and beautiful. Your videos are among the very best so someone needs to shut the hell up. Beautiful job on this portrait, this is what I've been doing of late and it's fun to see others doing the same. Love to you and gratitude
I would really like to understand what “overworked my piece” means. I see your painting and I think it is beautiful! And the shades of color are again beautiful and beautifully done. The blooms add texture and interest. Sometimes over worked is muddy or blotchy and obvious. I hope you can answer. Maybe overworked is self defined by the artist. Congratulations on your accomplishments! And the best to you!
Congratulations! Thank you for all of the open, honest answers to the questions. I can relate to so much of what you were saying. I would love to be able to be a patreon but since I cannot at this time, please accept my heartfelt gratitude. I appreciate what you are sharing so freely.
Congratulations! Your artistry is amazing. I have loved your videos and look and relook at them every day. I joined your patreon/skillshare and I have gotten so many great tips into the watercolor medium. I agree watercolor medium is the best. We are our own worst critic. Just know that you are the best.
Congratulations on 100k, I love your channel and I always find your videos so useful and inspirational... thank you sooooo much for sharing your art with us ❤🕊❤
Congrats on reaching 100K subscribers. I love the portrait you have done, I can only wish I had the talent you do. Your portrait work will be amazing in the future I'm sure.
I have learnt so much from this tutorial and reinforced what I have heard before, many times. Like working light to dark, don't overwork and be patient and let it dry between layers. Thank you
Hi Anna! Thank you for posting this video. I am excited to see more portrait videos on your channel. I especially appreciate tutorials with persons of colour and more diverse skintones. This is an area that I think is really lacking in terms of watercolour tutorials on RU-vid, so I am happy to see you experimenting with this in your art and sharing it with us here.
I love your painting and soothing voice!! I have trouble focusing on what you are saying when there is music in the background. Thank you so much for sharing your talent!!
I love this video! Thank you for sharing about your anxiety disorder and about the process of making mistakes and learning. I really appreciate it! You are inspiring and I love your artwork.
Congratulation Anna it has been lovely watching you over these years. You are deserving of all the support and love you receive. Here’s to continued growth and success.
Congratulations on 100k!! You deserve everything good coming your way! You’re a very talented and beautiful artist and I’ve been amazed at every single video I’ve ever seen of yours! Thank you so much for sharing so much of yourself for others to enjoy and learn from!❤
Thank you for sharing this process and also, something of yourself. I’m a great admirer of your art, but I primarily paint figures rather than botanicals and therefore haven’t joined your Patreon as yet. I hope you will continue to paint portraits - I think the composition and colour palette was lovely. Look forward to seeing more of your lovely paintings.
Could you make a video about tips and tricks to finishing your watercolor painting to make it more polished more specifically how you clean up edges (if that’s your!style)Thank you Anna.
Há pouco comecei a entrar a aquarela e de repente hoje acabei de conhecer seus vídeos. Amei! Em poucas horas vi muitos vídeos seus e não vou te largar mais. Vc é sensacional!
❤❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I ❤your channel and Patreon! Blue would be a wonderful monochrome! Can’t wait to see your book. I don’t think you need to show your face. Lots of RU-vidrs do not. Thanks for sharing about anxiety…me too! I am trying to paint more and watch RU-vid videos less. But that’s how I found you 😂 Lastly, lots of RU-vidrs have mentioned negative comments lately. Lots of negative aggression going around lately.
❤ yeah! Your talent and videos have always been really true to what we do as watercolorists. Your style of wc might lend well to using the verdaccio method since we love those colors. For viewers who may not know that means using the green and blue undertones first then applying the other colors right over them because they balance them out. I am so happy for you! ❤ I have a detail issue myself so I get messy with pastels and colored charcoal so I can get it out of my system 😂
It would be great to see more videos or clips of "mistakes" though I don't see any flaws in this portrait. I like to know how professional artists move past them. I find myself discouraged when I get stuck.
Love your work. Daniel Smith has a transparent Yellow Ochre. I find it an amazing paint. For myself, I like to paint an underpainting, where I have learned so much from you. Then, the paint the darkest areas because this gives me outlines within the painting. Then, I do all the in between gradients. I like Fabriano Artistico paper. Nasty comments are for the purpose of putting someone down. Jealousy.
Congratulations on 100k 🎉 I appreciate the journey and when a fellow artist shows us their process and happy mistakes. It is the unpredictability of watercolor that I fell in love with. I totally understand the calmness in our mind when we dive into a art piece. Seeing the world in pigment names and blends is a beautiful thing. It is that ability that makes us unique. Thank you for showing us your journey ⭐️
Beautiful artwork. I have to start using my tube colors more instead of the dried pan watercolors so much. The tube are so much richer and easier to control.
Congratulations! What a milestone and it was well earned. I've learned so much from your videos and really appreciate the time and effort you put into posting them on RU-vid and Patreon. My go-to color, if monochromatic, would be Sepia. I love earth tones and have always found that color to be very warm and expressive. Also, I'm with you on the "no blow dryer" and for the same reason.
Congratulations 🎉 I love your channel ! Thank you for sharing your art with us. I’m slowly learning different techniques and I absolutely love watercolor. I started a year ago and I’ve noticed a huge improvement and I’m always learning and growing as we all are . Happy painting my fellow artists .🎨🥰
Hi Anna, I love your work and would like to take every tutorial, but am perplexed about how you stretch your paper, so am at a standstill about what weight of paper and how best to prepare it as well as what dimensions are best for your tutorials? Because you are a perfectionist, and your creations certainly reflect this, I would trust and appreciate your input on this above any other artists. Oh, I also wanted to comment on your mention of turning to watercolor to get relief from anxieties, well, same here, anxiety has been leaving me on the side of the road like flattened fauna, and watercolor promises enough distraction to take back control instead of issues controlling me; I think that is because watercolor requires exquisite attentiveness to every choice of action. I look forward to your book, please keep us updated on its publication, thank you for sharing so much of your inspiration. ❤
Lovely video and beautiful art! If I were to only use a single colour, I would choose purple and I would definitely choose one bluish and one reddish shade to give me a large range of shades!
I just found your channel and only started painting in the last year. I am so interested in your gouache skills and your thoughts on this medium. It would be so fantastic if you could offer some of your "best" thoughts on gouache and some of your pieces you have done for your channel. Your watercolors are beautiful and inspiring! Thanks for showing up and making them available to newbies like me! (I have only done acrylics so far and I am buying watercolor supplies this year to start watercolor and gouache this spring and I am so excited! I purchased a small Winsor & Newton gouache set to get started on gouache.)
Beautiful portrait, looking forward to more 🤗 yes please !!! Your video set up would be great to see, I’m just starting to think about cameras in my studio, I have asked photographers locally for advice on photographing or filming my art and process and have been given very blunt cold shoulder more than once 🥴 I wonder if it’s snobbery thing, but probably better if you showed us anyway 😊
Around 14:48 you said you should show your face more on camera but you're too shy. Personally I think you shouldn't force yourself to do so if you don't feel comfortable with it. Besides it's about the wonderful art you make so I don't see any necessity for it. If you feel like it do it - otherwise just don't 😊 I love your art and watching you paint. Keep doing what makes you happy ❤
I agree, for me I can only afford the 100% cotton if it's for a commission, and it was a dream working on it. I recently got a cellulose paper pad for practice. It can handle limited amounts of glazes, it doesn't like very wet layers and takes forever to dry and doesn't really stay flat and it was a 300 gsm too... in my opinion cellulose might be better for different mixed media on it. Like gouache or colored pencils over the initial layers of watercolor. I think for glazing you need 100% cotton... 🥹
The badder is i dont understand english very well and many things I lost. Some text is good . I understand about not use white pigment? It wil be good to have translation of voice.
Hello fellow Canadian! Your work is amazing and I have been watching a lot of your videos recently. Can you tell me where you get your arch watercolour paper and other supplies? They are quite expensive. I am in Vancouver and there’s an art store called opus and I get paper from Michaels as well. Thanks.
I love that you shared a little bit about art and mental health. Watercolor and my other artistic hobbies help me to manage depression. Thank you for opening up about that! Also, I hope you only start showing your face when you're comfortable. It might help the algorithm but at over 100k subscribers, it looks like you're doing just fine without it ☺
I've only recently discovered your amazing RU-vid channel and LOVE and appreciate your vulnerable honesty with your work. You inspire me to continue and for this, I thank you!
Thank you for your videos! It is amazing and very helpful! I started painting almost 3 years ago first time in my life with you in my 41) and it’s very helped me with my anxiety
Thanks for sharing so much of yourself with us. Viewers like to associate with the artist, which is why they like to see them on camera. But that would not stop me from watching any videos. You are obviously quite lovely, so it is your channel and your decision. If you feel it would work in your schedule, it would be great to see a tutorial like this portrait with a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) model to learn darker skin tones.
I am excited about the ideas you had throughout this video for more videos, lol! I would love to see the set up you use for filming, seeing the ways you use different mediums in different styles of your work, and more about the process you use in designing Canadian coins. How do you stay relevant and unique in that particular part of your career? I’m happy to hear you plan to show us more about painting portraits as well. I first saw your art on RU-vid and began following here, then decided to join your Patreon. Thanks for all the work you put into both platforms. Congratulations on your RU-vid award!!
I really appreciate your videos, I just finished a portrait where I messed up just a particular section and now I will have to redo it. But, instead of getting frustrated I see that it is part of the learning process. Thank you, your videos are encouraging. I love your work 🎉💐 Also wanted to add that, it's refreshing to see someone who also struggles but keeps on because you know your capacity to achieve your best. You're awesome ❤
Congratulations!!!🎉 😊 My channel is small but I enjoy the creative process and working on my videos I was debating deleting old videos but I like the way you can see improvement! 😊 Mistakes are essential.
Anna, beautiful award, first time I see it. You are such a great artist who can do everything you put your mind to. Monochrome work I personally think will not be the thing for you though, since you love colours too much, but go ahead and try. 😊 I agree with you, painting is the best for turning off your thoughts and playing with colours. It helps for my tinnitus too. Thanks Anna, just keep up your great work.
Congratulations Anna! And thank you, I’ve learnt so much from you through the years both on RU-vid and Skillshare. Can’t wait to see what you bring us next! Your a joy to watch.
@@AnnaBucciarelliI can’t wait for your book! I’ve been hoping for years for a book of your art!! I was wondering, do you think you will incorporate more folk art in the future??
