All of the drum, and other sounds you hear are made by the guy who is not singing. In essence he is the bands instruments ( all of them ) LOL

Hi Nat. The best way to get to know Home Free is to watch their Sing Off performances. The, (very good), beat boxer does some harmonies sometimes, as required. The, (new to the group), 'short haired bearded guy' covers the bass when Tim, (the guy who started the song singing high), is singing lead.

Home Free is primarily a country group, but they do sing different styles of music as well. Even though parts of this are country, I think you will enjoy it and get a giggle or two! The Butts Remix ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IA0WCc3vTls.html . Enjoy!

Adam the beatboxer does sing but mostly he's background. Chance the other bass is newer but his range is amazing and brought something awesome to the group. Austin the long haired tenor has always had that smooth high voice. Rob, the one you like is just always good. Tim is just amazing.

I'm sure the hard core Home Fries will give you the low down on who's who and where they fit in. Adam Rupp is the beat boxer, but he does sing. He also arranges some of their stuff. Adam Chance (he's new), is the bass in this while Tim takes the lead. More of them please. Over to you Home Fries!!!

Chance (the one singing the low note) is only bass when Tim (the first singer) isn't. If you want a song where you really hear the low notes, listen to "Elvira" with the Oak Ridge Boys

They all do different things depending on the song and the arrangment. Most, if not all of their voices cover three+ octaves, so the sound they want to achieve determines who does which part. Each of the five is quite versatile and can do some amazing things with his voice.

Adam Rupp is the vocal percussionist (beat boxer). He is a very good tenor and he does sing in some videos, but usually only in Christmas carols or religious songs. It's funny that you thought the lyrics were a guy complaining about a woman he couldn't get rid of in that the original was sung by Cam who is a woman who can't tell her guy that she wants out.
@cathysmith2635

Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. does sing on occasion. How Great Thou Art is a good example of his voice. Tim Foust, the bass, is the one who started this song. He has a 5-octave range. Adam Chance (called Chance) is a baritone but can fill in for Tim as a bass when Tim has the lead. Austin sang the second verse. He is the high tenor. Rob(beard) is the tenor.

since you mentioned PTX, you may be interested to know that PTX won the 3rd season of the NBC TV competition the Sing Off and Home free won the 4th season of that show Beat boxer Adam Rupp has a good voice but he is shy so he only sings when his high voice is needed to fill the harmonies

The second base in the group is actually from another group that was on the show the Sing Off. There name is Street Corner Symphony. I believe season 2 of the show but google the band name and you will see. They were a very amazing group and would have won except for the group that did win was even better if you can imagine that. So take a look and see him in the Sing Off with that group where he was the base for them. I was totally surprised to see him in Home Free but a great fit for sure.

The guy with the deep voice, Adam Chance, does have a high range and did work as the bass in this song, but Tim Foust aka the first guy singing has an even better range. He can sing much higher and much lower than Chance or Avi Kaplan. Tim Foust has a 5 octave range and has performed one of the lowest recorded notes ever. Also Adam Rupp aka the beatboxer very rarely sings, but is great at it, for example in How Great Thou Art and Silent Night.

The beatboxer is Adam Rupp and he mostly does vocal percussion but does sing on some occasions. You can see an example in their video for How Great Thou Art. He's extremely good as a vocal percussionist, though. If you search his name on RU-vid you'll find some videos of his "drum solos" (I put this in quotes because he does beats and mixing and effects as well as more traditional drum sounds).

They promote as a "country" acapella group. Tim is the main base with a range from lowest to almost compete with Austin (reddish long hair) and Rob (full beard) in the high ranges and started the song, Adam Rupp is the beat box and only sings occasionally, but AMAZING and makes the group sound like they have instrumental when its all vocals with no instruments. Chance is the one in the back that dropped to base..is really a baritone but with a low range....but still not near as low as Tim who can match Avi in low range (different sound though, because Avi is classically trained, where Tim is a natural country base)
@chemislife
@chemislife 5 лет назад
You want to hear low look at their version of ring of fire. Tim can drop the bass like no one else. If you want to hear the beat boxer sing there is a version of "I can't out run you" that they do with him being the main vocalist if I remember correctly. For them singing together their eagles 7 bridges road and their version of how great thou art should do the trick there. This a capella group is amazing and can do just about anything. They even sang pretty woman when they where in the a capella singing compatition.

To my knowledge Adam(Short haired guy AKA Beatboxer xD) only beatboxes. Also, the first guy, Tim, is the bass. Yet he can make that high voice. He has the best range I've seen. Short beard and short hair is Chance, and he's a baritone/bass. :3 The longer bearded, chubby guy is called Rob. He's got the sweetest voice and does the tenor harmonies. :3 And the long haired guy is called Austin, and he's the lead tenor.

Adam Rupp Drum Solo ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EanKWLUaDpg.html . Adam Rupp is considered the best beatboxer in the Mid-west and is (probably) one of the top ten in the world. While the rest of the crew takes a break he just keeps on going. He does sing (when the group doesn't need a percussionist) an example would be in "How Great Thou Art" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tXQpDDcrN-w.html .

The guy who you said was your favorite is Darren Scruggs, their tenor. The guy who started the song, Tim Faust, is their Base, he's a true base, who can sing rediculously high. The guy who did that really low note in the middle of the song was a replacement for one of the founding members that left the group. (a peaceful split, he even helped pick his replacement) The cool thing is, that with Tim being the bass, they sort of needed him for that role, and we didn't hear how high he could go very often. But the new guy (Adam Chance) can sing low, and Tim is teaching him to go lower, and THIS is the result.

An Introduction to Home free for you Natalie... Bass : Tim Faust the "Country" singer who started this video Can easily Match Avi Kaplans bass notes, but can also go well into mid tenor. Baritone : Adam Chance (Shorter hair and Beard) Has a wide range, covers the Bass when Tim sings a lead, but also sings well into tenor Ranges. Tenor : Rob Lundquist (Longer beard) A true tenor, singing some of the highest quality, clean tenor notes in the business today. High Tenor : Austin Brown A very wide range, from low/mid tenor up to and including Contralto. Adam Rupp : Beat boxer, has some amazing beatboxing skills, and does occasionally sing a mid range tenor. Probably the greatest assets that Home Free has, is that all their members have a pretty wide range, and that they have been singing together for a number of years, and have developed some amazing harmonies together.

Where to start...LOL. I love Home Free altogether, but how can ya not love Rob Lundquist (huskier bearded fella). Yes, Adam Rupp (beat boxer) does sing (off the top of my head "How Great Thou Art", maybe "In The Blood", and others I am sure)...but to me gives most of the songs the "beat" required for best enjoyment. Chance (Adam Chance ((who filled Chris Rupp's spot in the group))...dropped the bass in this one) is a great addition giving Tim Foust (who I call "The 7 octave stud") having a huge range and usually belts the bass, more of a "chance"' to vary in a song...as heard in this song for sure. Austin Brown is the main soloist of the group and can definitely belt the high notes. I love (NOT) when "Pentaholics" keep comparing Pentatonix and Home Free in some form or fashion during a song. I am more of a Homefry than Pentaholic, but enjoy both very much, so take no hate or malice in this comment. Some of Home Free are from southern states (Texas & Georgia) so their "accent" is gonna be prominent, and being from the US find a chuckle in the accent comment...again no hate, I love the Australian "accent". Looking forward to more reactions of Home Free and more of course. Much Love.

You haven't heard low yet. Adam Chance is the group's baritone, and although he can get down into the bass range easily, that task normally belongs to Tim Foust who is the group's bass. One will cover the other when he needs to sing for a special effect. Check out their cover of "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash to get an idea of how low they can go. Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix does a guest spot, and between him and Tim, they rock the bass.

First of all, I think that very possibly you don't always understand the phrases and slang of the U.S., which is totally OK...it's just different to you. ;-) Secondly, you should probably go and listen to the original, by Cam, here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eRrCMEXPjWo.html Personally, I don't care for that video at all--it's all pretty weird. Now, I LOVE her voice! However, yeah...the video is just not something I care for. Then that brings me to the meaning of "Mayday." There's a lot of stuff you can find about it's origins, but what it basically comes down to is the old radio (I mean shortwave radio...not radio the way we know it now) term for, "Help! Something's wrong, and I'm desperate for help!" A similar (nautical) term would be, "S.O.S." (Save Our Ship!" From that, take the part of the song right after Tim introduces it with his (amazing) vocals (more about that in a minute). If you notice, the building (an old factory, by the way) looks like it's rocking. The camera is doing that on purpose, to make it look as if a very large SHIP is going down, and the guys are trying to stand up on a badly-shaken and unstable deck. There's the big connection to the name of the song: Mayday. The rhythm, then (carried so ably by Adam Rupp, pretty much the most capable, reliable, and steady beatboxer in the world right now), mimics the feeling of the ship going down, as well as the heartbeat of the person involved, who is trying to tell the person with whom he (she, in Cam's video, of course) has been sharing a bed/home/life for a long period of time. That life has slowly been going down in flames, like a sinking ship (some of the lyrics actually say that). The whole song is a cry to that other person to, "Please listen. I know you're asleep right now, but I've been trying to say this to you for quite some time, now, and I just can't hold it back any longer. Please...you must help me let go, because otherwise we're both going to drown. This just isn't right any longer. Can you please listen, and help?" Then he gives the reasons why: "You are overbearing; I'm not in love; I don't wanna tell you." In other words, "I'm still scared to tell you this when you wake up, but...what am I going to do?!" In real life, I'm thinking the man/woman saying those words while the other person sleeps, would be gone in the morning, with nothing but a note and a fragrance on the pillow...you know? How else can something like that be dealt with? It's a very sad, pensive song, as reflected by each of the guys' little cameo shots. There's brooding. There's frowning. There's pleading. There's crying out. There's hopelessness. There's anger. There's frustration. Yet...there's the lingering effect of the life that has been going on before that scene. That's the setting OK...so I think you've probably gained some more knowledge about the guys by now, but just in case... Tim Foust...Bass...Tim is married to Jenika, who is also an accomplished musician and singer (her first album is just out). Here's one of the very best videos on RU-vid, about him and his voice, with lots of explanations in the description...very well done...plus an out-of-print song with him playing the piano: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x3i1D22zszM.html soundcloud.com/timfoustmusic/canthelpfallinginlove Adam Rupp...Beatboxer...Adam is married to Ericka, and they have a little girl. Here are a video and a commentary about beatboxing in general... The video is the best/clearest one I've seen online. I've heard him live, and it's even better, but this video is captured very well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pofxArWcmNM.html The commentary (notice who's at the top of the list). What it doesn't tell you that Adam is also an accomplish singer and instrumentalist. He and his brother Chris Rupp (more about him down the line) began Home Free in 2000, when they were in college. They both play multiple instruments, though Adam's foremost instrument was the trumpet (he also plays bass). When they began the vocal band, Adam hadn't, evidently, been playing drums, but he learned so that he could do the beatboxing correctly. The man obviously has rhythm-to-the-max in his very soul.: beat.media/best-beatboxers-in-the-world Adam Chance...Baritone/Bass...called Chance, to differentiate between the two Adams...He isn't married, but currently he is "with" Sami Matarante, who is Olena Noelle's best friend from childhood (see the part about Austin, about Olena). Chance is not only an accomplished singer and guitarist, but also a great photographer, plus he directs some of their newer videos. He joined Home Free when Chris Rupp went solo on May 8, 2016. You've seen Mayday, here, with him hitting that deep note...link to his photography studio...link to "I Can't Outrun You" video, which he directed, acted in, and was the lead singer: society6.com/adamchance/s?q=popular+prints ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cgBYNQBHK8o.html Rob Lundquist...Tenor...his voice has been described as being "angelic," it's so smooth. He has a pretty good range, himself, and can sing myriad styles. Rob played saxophone in high school before switching over into singing. I believe when he was asked to join Home Free, he was bartending. He also loves to cook. He and his wife Kelsey now have both a little girl, and a little boy (only a few weeks old, now). Chris Rupp...Baritone...As already mentioned, Chris is no longer a part of the group. He was actually the instigator, back in 2000, I believe, though currently they introduce Adam as having been "the founder" of the group. Chris is amazing! He can sing all the parts, pretty much. If you'd like to hear what he's doing now, here's his personal RU-vid channel: ru-vid.com?pbjreload=10 Here's his 7th Ave Band channel (one of the ladies in this group is Tristin - Chris and Adam's sister, who is also amazingly talented): ru-vid.com/show-UCdaBAP9_lMbXpLGj8tRRQkg Here's one of Chris' latest collaborations...with Tim Foust...I totally love it. I think you'd enjoy reacting to it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2QF0IEU8EcQ.html Austin Brown...High Tenor...They usually introduce him as "the pretty one." If you watch the video linked at the end of this comment, you'll see him REALLY horsing around, in their "Guilty Pleasures" routine from a couple of years back, before Chris left. Austin was singing on a cruise ship when they first heard him. He heard them sing, too, and a couple of years later, he was drafted. He's not married, but he and Olena Noelle have been together for about four years, now, I believe. She is the group's photographer (also a model and actress). Here's a video in which he sings a song from Les Misérables, which takes advantage of his theatrical training: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gK4KKqC29-o.html Regarding him and Olena, the two are featured in this video (one of their most recent): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uCTQlzCHntQ.html Home Free as a Group...in a nutshell...Here's the "Guilty Pleasures" video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tQl_g10Dw-8.html Here's their latest video--only out, which really encompasses the best of all of what they do: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-db5sTWEADks.html And here's one more for you, that has Adam Rupp singing instead of beatboxing (as he does on How Great Thou Art, that I see you've already reacted to): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U1dWXE-B4sw.html To end it all off...yes...I'm a patron (on Patreon) for both Home Free and Chris Rupp. I can't give much to either, but I appreciate them so much that I can't NOT give at least the small amount that I can. I was raised (and participated) in a family of musicians and singers, and I love these guys. They are so very fantastic. :-)

@Nattering Do you have a delay on posting comments? I never see any until hours after the video goes up. The first few hours is when you're going to get the most views and the most interactions - people replying to comments and discussing things - which will increase views and the amount of time they spend on your video. Also, I never see the "likes".

Heya yes i have to approve comment before they go up and as I post videos at 8-830 Pacific standard time ( which i do because i know most of my followers are from the US ) I then go to bed and check in the morning if i don't have work. As for the likes and dislikes thats a personal choice which i have spoken about before. I don't like the politics of numbers among you-tubers and therefore chose not to have them publically displayed.
