For someone who is as introverted as myself, I sure do talk a lot 🤔ENJOY the reaction and yes, this time I made sure to include it in the title, breakdown, of this song! as always, this is just MY opinion, and how I interpreted this video.

Sometimes i see people calling Blackpink's songs meaningless. I think this is a very silly and superficial point of view. These four queen have taught me to how can be strong and confident person with their songs and personalities. Their songs both entertain me and make me feel better. Blackpink is the revolution for music industry and they will always be iconic. Keep supporting these amazing girls. And ilove your reactions because you never just look and pass, you searching meanings and make connections with everting.... And now its gonna recommed time!! pls check out Stray Kids. They are absulotely amazing and self-made group in kpop. İ dont know have you ever check them on your channel but its okey they have soo much song to check out... :)

Triumphant indeed. The opening scene has the statue of Nike, the Green goddess of victory. And you also mentioned that they look like goddesses ready to tell their story. This MV has references to Greek mythology. You mentioned that Rosé seemed to be in a dark place and then suddenly sort of rises up-she is Persephone, the wife of Hades (ruler of the underworld) and the goddess of spring. In the end you will see Trojan horses, which is of course symbolic of battle and victory and in the dome is a world map in pink-Blackpink and world domination. Again, an excellent breakdown 🙂

*HOW YOU LIKE THAT* is about coming back from a dark place stronger than before. There are many Greek references in the video, a few examples are: The winged statue in the temple is Nike, Goddess of Victory. Rosé, in the beginning, is portraying Persephone, Goddess of Vegetation (plants, flowers) and the daughter of Zeus. One day while she was out gathering flowers, Hades, God of the Underworld, abducted her and dragged her down to the Underworld where she was forced to become his wife. The video shows her in her beautiful image, surrounded by flowers, as well as how she became, dirty and grey, staring up at the world through a hole in the Underworld. She was eventually allowed to return to the surface for part of the year, which is why we have Spring and Summer. Jennie is surrounded by dancers whose hands are "crawling" over her face, like spiders. This is followed by Jisoo in front of burning umbrellas, the chair she is seated in is noticeably spiderlike in its design as well. The Trojan Horses at the end are a message from BLACKPINK to the world. They symbolize the fact that BLACKPINK, like the Greeks, will emerge and take over the global music world. If you look at the last scene you will notice that on the inside of the dome it looks like there's an organic growth over parts of the ceiling. It's actually a map of the world that the group is going to dominate.

I forgot what I was about to say, but anyways yes this song is banger, also this song was in the Hotel Tranilvania 4 trailer, and yes was in everywhere on tiktok, now Money is in everywhere on TikTok, this song is a single of their "The Album" last year, yeah they have an album called The Album it was THEIR 1ST FULL ALBUM AFTER ALMOST 4 YEARS OF A GROUP lol, and yes it is cummon they have dance break in their songs, not every song has a dance break btw... I guess the "Dun dun dun" part in the dance break they were just follwing the beat or making a reference to DUDDUDUDU Fun fact: This MV is actually blocked in some courtries, idk if its because Jennie said "bring out your boss B*" I heard YT kids has something to do with it 🤔, idk BUT this made their HYLT dance performace SO FAMOUS, the most viewed dance performace on YT history is their HYLT dance performace, u definitly should check that out (its actually their 1st dance "performace" the rest ones were dance practices wich still amazing) This song literally lifted them (not really lifted but its their most successful comeback) they dont release new group OT4 song since October 2020 btw, Yo the editing in your videos is amazing, the part where u talked about jisoo and Jennie umbrella scenes

You should be getting a million of views, so that the haters will be able to understand their whole music and lyrics. I watched many reaction videes, they cannot explain the "plane jane" bar that Lisa made. Only you were the one who explained this properly. and also the whole song. KUDOS to you man.

As always a very insightful reaction. Certainly jives with my general impression of the song. I'm surprised so few people have donated to you. I know I did a while ago.

All Blackpink songs have dual meaning about both dysfunctional relationships and their power dynamic vs haters. Ex: "Bring out the Boss Bitch" is in reference to the failed relationship where she has had enough and decides to take over and become the boss bitch and also can be taken as the final stage of defeating a level in a video game and they are ready to defeat the Boss so they are calling out the haters so they can destroy them. Jennie under the umbrellas talking about being in a dark place followed by Jisoo in the same set with the same umbrellas burning represents deciding to not hide from the rain under umbrellas and burn them "It's about to be your turn. 1-2-3 How you like that". Again fits both the dysfunctional relationship and about to destroy the haters motiff. Teddy is a genius.

This is cool! Glad you got to this m/v. :) This was the song that finally got me listening to BP and after I heard it, I was kicking myself and WISHED I had listened to them earlier. I love that this is a giant middle finger for the haters and trolls, while simultaneously being a message of hope for those who feel down by the jerks or by other things in life. I think you got it right, something like 'We have been through that and look, we came out of it and we are alive. Now watch as we just get progressively better and we get to live our dreams, while the bullies will just remain stuck where they have always been.'

Your reactions are now my favorite to watch and comment on because discussing with you is so much fun. Your analysis and mine and comparing the two is something I don't get with anyone else. I look at it as they mean it both ways possibly. Maybe some of them mean it for any relationship, but they ALL mean it to their detractors. I think they also made this for their fans to be able to mold it to whatever situation in their lives they feel this song applies to. Something someone else has said about the plain Jane: there apparently is a very expensive watch by that name that celebrities own, and it's rumored she owns one. Not sure how true that is. Please do all of their songs!!!? Oh, and their performances of their songs from The Show, their online concert. And Everglow; the rest of their songs. *I appreciate you mentioning the suicides of the idols. I had to go inpatient for 2 weeks in 2016 because I became suicidal(I'm Bipolar and have an anxiety disorder.) I was alone 2 states away from home, new job, an hour away from family in the east and west in the new state I'd moved to and I just fell apart finally in the second part of the year. I'm much,ugh better now. This should be spoken about more.

Great breakdown of the lyrics. When you see these girls off stage, they are sweet, kind, people. But, they have gone through 4-6 years of grueling training, and they have each been the target of brutal hate campaigns, as well as the group as a whole. This is them announcing that they are over and done with that, so "How You Like That."

Now to recommendations: first you need to react to the accompanying live stage performance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, released on the same night with Music Video, 06/26/2020. Virtually all K-pop groups do this: a debut or a “comeback” song always presented in a music video and a live stage performance (actually many live stage performances using the same choreography but with different outfits over many days on different TV shows). You and I, and other BlackPink fans have been stunned by the high-quality MVs, and will be impressed by more MVs. But we would have a misconception about these Kpop artists if we don’t see them in live performances. What have impressed you so far are mostly their genius music producer, Teddy Park, and their one video producer/director (shame on me for remembering his name). Yes, the 4 ladies of course deserve tons of credits in the MV, too. But their true talents as vocalists, rappers, and dancers, and stage performers would be more evident in live performances. For each MV, you need see at least one live performance on a TV show to appreciate the choreography for the song. Then later, you need to see them on tour or festival performances, where because of the necessary interaction with audience, the choreography has to be waterdowned a bit here and there. But you would hear them singing without back-up tracts (or much toned down back-up tracts, therefore no accusation of lip-sync). Recommend Coachella 2019, and the Tokyo Dome (55,000-size audience!) and Osaka Dome tour of 2019-2020. Some interesting details about performances in Japan: they sing in Japanese and rap in English the original Korean verses. Awesome!

I was waiting for you to talk about the Trojan horse that appears in the background during break dance; I found this detail very interesting. I see a lot of references to greek mythology in this whole MV; the wooden horse, the broken Greek goddess statue, and many other details. Rosé's first scene reminds me of the Persephone story, and Jisoo's second scene reminds me of Hades and hell. In mythology, Hades took Persephone to the underworld and made her his bride; she could leave once a year, and when she did, it bloomed; then, the spring. Jennie also appears dressed in white lace clothes in her first scene. Returning to Rosé. In her first scene, she appears among the flowers, in a dark place, and looks up, where there is a hole, where light is coming out. Perhaps representing Persephone's prison. An interesting detail that can only be seen in pictures: in Jisoo's first scene, she has a lot of ritten words on her body: envy, pride, lost, and a few others that I don't remember right now. All about haters 👀💅

Despite their 5 years career and their immense popularity, they only have 23 songs to their name. Anyhow, this song is my best pick is because not only it got the savage lyrics, great music, create tunes, fun vibes, but because it got the best dance choreography. When you have a chance, check out their dance performance which is currently having close to 1b view. It’s probably the most view for a dance performance video on RU-vid history.
