Reacting to ‘BABYMONSTER’ for the first time!

Welcome to the Baemon Fanbase!!!! They are still a new group, but they are so versatile based on their first 4 releases, each song has a different vibe. YG is definitely flexing with their LIVE performances. All 7 girls are extraordinarily talented. My only complaint thus far....... they need their own weekly reality show!!!! They are so funny, based on their behind the scenes interactions and interviews.

The “stunned 4.0” got me I can’t lie. Part of whats insane about them is their age. They were like 14-21 here, and 13-20 when chosen for the group. When people heard the group’s name was Babymonster many people thought it was silly or cringe, but after seeing what they can do everyones like “oh it makes sense, I understand why they’re called that.” For example, the third rapper in Sheesh (Asa, ace of the group) was rapping Godzilla at 14 with ease. And yes, you’re right in that their live vocals are impeccable, their live performances make their songs even better, as they almost always sound even better than the recorded track (highly recommended checking out their Sheesh and Forever performances on Its Live for example if you want to be really impressed). Like That was actually given to them by Charlie Puth, after he heard Ahyeon (girl with sunglasses/doing the adlibs in Like That)’s viral cover of his song Dangerously - despite being released in like 2016, the song actually won an award in SoKorea last year bc she really is the It Girl of 5th gen. They have Batter Up and Stuck In the Middle as well, but neither include Ahyeon as she was on health hiatus, and so their official debut is the release of Sheesh/minialbum when she came back (the first video she was in, Babymons7er Visual Film has millions of views). They get some hate bc some people only listened to Batter Up and Sheesh, which were purposely made in the “classic YG style” (YG himself literally said this), and so they claim Baemon is just a recycled Blackpink. However, for those who actually care to listen, their discography is incredibly versatile and what YG is doing is proving that these girls can do any concept and pull it off amazingly. They have individual solo performances, intros, and (viral) solo covers - such as Dangerously- from their survival-esque show the Last Evaluation. Aside from Forever (newest release, I definitely recommend both MV and Its Live performance), Batter Up, and SITM, they have an absolutely gorgeous pre-debut song Dream which was released following the end of the Last Evaluation and member announcement video. I highly, highly recommend watching the Dream MV as it shows their auditions, years of training (they had an average of 3.5/4 years of training, with many of them starting around 10 years old), and LE scenes (I’ve actually watched grown men cry over this song/video). Sorry this was so long!!!

Sheesh is the official debut for all 7 girls. 6 of the girls debuted on Batter Up and Stuck in the middle. One of the girls Ahyeon was sick. There is also a Christmas without you cover with 6 girls which they sang for the 7th missing girl. Beautiful. My forever Christmas song now.

if you're getting back to kpop again...Babymonster is definitely the group to stan for this generation....they are a throwback group because they pride on being able to perform live just like the groups from the 2nd gen specially...its refreshing to see
