i'm kind of on Chloe's side here regarding Pauly. She didn't owe him forgiveness, especially after the way he treated her, and it's up to her to decide whether or not she's over it yet. And tbh she was kind of completely right about the things she called him out on. She wasn't being bitter or spiteful or trying to hurt him just to get back at him, she made legitimate points about the way he behaves. She's not his mom or his girlfriend, and it's not her job to coddle him and make him feel better about his mistakes.
Yeah I disagree with what they said about how she should have coddled him bc he was spiraling. That’s not her job and he doesn’t need any more enablers. Watching this I can’t believe how much she put up with. They all tell Pauly to stop but let her leave the party instead of kicking him out? It’s all bs and she deserves better friends.
The fact that the group let Chloe leave instead of kicking Pauly out (or even kicking him out after she leaves) tells me everything I need to know about them as people. Disgusting. Fight for your friends and hold your friends accountable.

I’m by no means team Chloe, but, at least in this season, every time she tries to employ a healthy boundary, she’s berated for it. She’s toxic af, but her not wanting to go to a party with someone that broke her nose is healthy. So is telling a Pauly she’ll forgive him when she sees more than lip service from him.
Alex was (poorly) playing nature lover because he is a perpetrator of marine animal abuse and also friends of the fine gentleman responsible for the notorious "shark-dragging" incident, and photos circulated of him shooting a gun into a hammerhead shark, as well as his friend group feeding beers to manatees. You may notice Madison's hair was already shorter and blonder in this scene, they filmed it later in an attempt to work on his image. If you live in Florida you can tell what scenes were shot later in the summer (lots of grey skies, and/or blaring sun) as opposed to the rest of the season that was shot in the spring. Alex is the kind of guy that floors the accelerator with his foot on the break just to make sure the people behind him inhale more gas and the earth dies a smidge quicker (true story). And by now you know why he was kicked off the show, but remember that that only happened because of timing and MTV making examples. Clear evidence of racism was present on social media when the show was leading up to its premier, but it didn't matter to MTV then. And he didn't lose out because his father continued to produce the show. And while we are on that thread, don't forget to see if you can find the video of Chloe calling Paulie the n-word as a derogatory insult in real life.
ya i was wondering if they'd ever talk about any of these incidences while they filmed the reaction videos. the people on this show--well, some of the people--are truly awful people.

I have to say I'm kind of pissed off that I sat through an entire season of that piece of sh*t being the main character. It was so hard to watch. I found an article about ppl boycotting the show before it even came out because of A's obvious and public racism and animal cruelty accusations. MTV certainly made some choices through the years..
Chloe. Is. Not. Fat. Everyone else is taller than her and very, VERY, slim. Chloe looks 100% healthy here. Regardless, I can't believe anyone would be so bold and hateful to comment on someone's body like that. Something very off and creepy about Pauly. Many people have had a HARD life and do not behave that way.
I was literally thinking the same thing. Her size and body type/shape is great she has a standard figure. Idk why she was singled out. She no where near “fat” etc. all the things Pauly said.

Season 1 Summary: -they clearly have no idea how long summer is -None of those people are Chloe’s friends or else they would have read Pauly to filth -Kelsey needs to fix her brows -Juliette needs new sunglasses and a thesaurus (as well as her friends) -Alex is still a toe. Or a thumb. That always mouth breathes. Whew! That felt good to get off my chest! 😅

It’s so weirdly refreshing to see girls with thin hair and their normal lips. No judgement, I’ve dabbled in different things but I really miss seeing normal faces.
My thoughts. 1. Pauly is actually in love with Chloe and that’s why he’s mean to her, to hide that fact. Lol 2. Alex never wanted Madisson back, that was just the producers stirring up drama. 3. Alex talking about preservation was a pr move to make him look better after he shot the shark in that video.
Same!! I’ve never watched this until now so had no idea about the characters. Looked up Juliette after Whits comment and man, she’s crazy for messing with herself. So naturally gorgeous in these eps and now she just looks like a fake plastic spaz! Maddison on the other hand, what a beauty she is. She’s pretty on these eps now, but she’s really come into her self in real time now. Just stunning!
kelsey looks altered now too. she's, what, 25 now? and fully looks 10 years older than she is. none of the women on this show needed any work done. they are all gorgeous, gorgeous girls.

I actually felt bad for Pauly after his performance, but then I came across the Alex racist social media posts controversy & Pauly’s remarks about it were truly disgusting. He is a crap human being.
My parents both died before I turned 20 as well and even now a decade later I’m still struggling like crazy with that sudden feeling of being completely alone with no support and feeling like no one else understands (like Pauly I dealt with drug issues and excessive partying as well). But unlike Pauly I didn’t become cruel because of my situation. Everyone deals with trauma differently but that doesn’t mean your anyone will excuse your awful behavior. Hope he’s doing better now but tbh his scenes are hard to watch.
honestly i’m proud of Chloe for enforcing boundaries, she doesn’t have to accept Pauly back till she’s ready. It was pretty clear that Pauly wasn’t really sorry by the way he retaliated GROSS.

I love the reaction videos. I started watching SK during season 3. I love it but I never got to see the first 2 seasons. It's very interesting seeing what the cast is like in these earlier seasons versus what they are like now.

All I hear from Pauly are a bunch of excuses. Excuses he’s used over and over to justify his actions. I didn’t feel like his apology was sincere. It sounded rehearsed. Idk. He reminds me of this guy I used to be friends with who is the exact same way.

I feel like they should have called Pauly out more on his shit. They knew what he said and did was wrong and I think they should have been far more active and vocal about his behavior. I’m kind of on your wavelength with this. Apologies don’t mean anything if they’re not backed up by action, and his reaction to the suggestion of rehab *right after* saying himself, “I do drugs and drink alcohol to numb the pain”, shows he’s nowhere near ready to actually take steps forward. And that ABSOLUTELY deserves compassion and empathy and a certain level of patience, but she’s under no obligation to accept his apology if it’s just words, especially if it’s been going on for a long time
I laugh out loud so much more with this show than the reactions with The Hills and Laguna Beach. Idk if y’all got funnier or if it’s just that I genuinely cared about the LA based characters and I don’t give a hoot about these Floridians but it’s way easier to make fun of them hahha

I thought the entire time watching this show that Pauly has been in love with Chloe for years....he is like a 5 year old pulling her hair on the playground. Additionally just have to say in my (first time comment, long time watcher) 😊 of your channel. First: Please do a rerun of some merch items. I was so sad when I missed the hills tour one and I love the laguna beach top one too! Second: In the recap when Whitney is playing Juliette I about died on the FaceTime when you even put a tiny whitney face in the phone too. 3rd: "Is this an Alex cares about the environment storyline?" All i can think is "Stop trying to make manatees happen. They're never going to happen."
I'm also getting scared for what Juliette looks like these days, because Whitney keeps referencing that she likes her all natural like in this series, so I'm worried she's had a bunch of work done on her face because she is beautiful rn. Don't want to look at her instagram to spoil the show!

It’s so funny they tried to paint Alex like this because he got investigated for torturing a shark and shooting it point blank which is completely illegal in many areas.
I watched the whole series after you guys peeked my interest in the show. I am liking it more every week the drama is amped up with every episode the location shots are beautiful almost makes me want to visit that town Cant wait to hear your reactions on Ish that story line really hooked me
I finally caught up after missing the last couple episodes/reaction videos. It’s actually holding my attention. I had actually found Laguna Beach to be a bit boring. SK is fun to watch.
