You guys should check out a game called katamari damancy, it’s a crazy Japanese game where you are this little thing and you roll up stuff into a ball that progressively gets bigger as you roll up more stuff. You start with like erasers, thumb tacks, gum and eventually you roll up people, cars, buildings, states, entire continent’s and eventually stars

I was born in '81, and I have to say I was always a nintendo fan boy back then, and a big part of it was that Sega commercials ALWAYS consisted of throwing shade at nintendo. Nintendo commercials were usually "hey, look at how awesome our game is" but Sega was always "Umm....Nintendo sucks!"

Yeah, I know about Cal Worthington. I found an old hat from his Ford dealership at a thrift store in my hometown in western Nevada. I had no idea who he was, I just liked it because I like cars and it was clearly old but in nice shape. I showed it to my mom (who is from Long Beach), and she clued me in. I ended up giving it to my uncle, since he’s more of a Ford guy than I am and still lives in the area.

Anyway, what the Altima ad is trying to say is that Nissan can do the same thing at a fraction of the cost, but you might have noticed that the camera cut away from the speedometer before it reached 145. Even if it could do it at the same speed, it comes off as somewhat hypocritical considering Nissan had already launched Infiniti by this point.

That generation actually was sold in Japan though, under the name Scepter. Eventually, the bigger Camry proved to be more popular even in its home country, and the smaller one was discontinued.
