not sure if they mention this later on in the video but they actually have 23 members right now!

5:45 nah they all literally know each other since they were kids. Most of the NCT members have trained tgt for a long time and they just slowly debut in NCT one by one lol. SM ised to have this thing called SM Rookies, where they introduced new trainees, and back them most of them were the NCT members and Red Velvet members now. They were literal BABIES. Only the recent members (the 2 added in 2020) are not as close with the members since their training period was a little later. I recommend the MV “From Home Rearranged Version” for you to see their growth since they were trainees! It’s so touching

I think u missed when they said that WayV is the Chinese sub unit of NCT which consist of some of the Chinese members of NCT. They have 10 members that are fully Korean like born and grew up in South Korea and 13 Foreigners of Varying nationalities and ethnicities. 5 from China, 2 from North America (ethnically Korean), 2 from Japan, 1 from Hong Kong (ethnically half-Chinese half-Thai), 1 grew up in Germany (ethnically Taiwanese), 1 from Thailand (ethnically Chinese), and 1 from Macau ((ethnically Chinese). So as you can imagine they’re all a multilingual mess most have them having to learn Korean, members picking up the languages of other members, many of them speaking like 3-5 languages etc. but it wouldn’t be NCity if everyone wasn’t struggling and just having fun.

21:16 its because Wayv PROMOTES in China, the other sub units promote in Korea so theres no "restriction" there.

7:43 Mark had already debuted in other units when he left NCT Dream so he would've just kept promoting with them if they still had that "under 20 system" (mark is in 3 different untis/groups, SuperM (not in the NCT "universe"), NCT Dream, and NCT 127, if you count NCT U its 4)

NCT2020 Resonance has 22 members dancing (the youngest was injured @ the time but they show him @ the beginning of the video). It is a compilation of 4 of their songs from the Resonance album.

Wayv is Chinese unit. Also the official fandom name for Wayv is WayZenni.

Answers to your questions about NCT 📍Why they make a japanese music/release? Not only NCT but mostly kpop groups, releases Japanese songs and English songs for the benefit of their group and audience, to attract non fans and those non korean speakers, knowing that they are not only using the korean language in their music but other languages too. 📍Winwin debuted in NCT 127 but he was moved to WayV in 2019. There's no statement that Winwin is not part of NCT 127 anymore, but theories says that maybe because of the THAAD issue of China-Korea (political issue), if situation gets better in the future we may see Winwin with 127 hopefully. Also this is not the first time that someone is on 2 different units, example for this is NCT Dream's Mark & Haechan. They are both from NCT Dream and NCT 127, they keep promoting non-stop with their 2 units. But in the case of Winwin, WayV was formed in 2019 (and they actually distanced themselves in NCT or their korean branding bcos Korean promotions in china are banned) so yeah, I think it is mostly because of the government of these 2 countries. 📍NCT Dream's Mark Graduation. Even though Mark graduated and haven't rejoined the Dream, he will be still in NCT, bcos he's in 2 units. He's part of the NCT 127 too. 📍In Korea, being a singer and dancer is a tough job, they usually spend years of training before debut and the younger you are the better. In case of NCT Dream, they were trained at around 9 years old being able to debut around 14-17 years old and they spent their childhood years dancing & singing that's why sometimes you can see how innocent & playful they are because they didn't have much time to play when they were younger. In terms of their education, being able to graduate in primary & secondary is a must. They still value education over training bcos there are many skills that can't be taught in their training but you only learned them in school. Many NCT members dropped out in school to prioritize training and Taeil (the oldest & main vocalist) just as he accepted in a university, he is also accepted in SM, he can't choose both and he decided to drop out in college and enter SM. 📍WayV does chinese, korean and english music. They promotes in both China & Korea 📍NCT will keep releasing a full length album with all members from different units. In 2018, they added 3 new members thus they released Black on Black which features 18 members. They came back in 2020, wherein they introduced 2 new members + 3 members from WayV who haven't debuted in any units other than WayV, they dropped Resonance Pt. 1 and Pt.2 featuring 23 members in 1 song and it became the most ordered album in SM (as of the moment).

basically Wayv is the Chinese unit of NCT. but because there's a lot of political issues between China and Korea, there are restrictions that happen for Wayv. China has a ban on kpop, so Wayv has to be careful about associating themselves with kpop when they're promoting in China. That's why SM had to create a sub label specifically for them to be able to promote in China and why they can't have NCT in their name because SM doesn't want to risk getting them banned for being connected a Kpop group.

5:36 Actually they have trained together before. So their chemistry has been building since before debut. Only the debut time was different. The two members who were added to NCT 127 when Limitless came out were Doyoung and Johnny. Doyoung has been with NCT U since NCT debuted with The 7th Sense and Without You. And Johnny has been a trainee at SM even with EXO members who debuted in 2012. So, fans actually expected them to debut with NCT.

You should learn the members based on the individual unit guides. I reccomend: - Subpar Guides to Nct 127 by softjun (outdated but the best your gonna get for 127. Just remember that Winwin isnt active in 127 since 2018, Yuta isnt the only Japanese member anymore, and Jungwoo's personality completely flipped so its inaccurate on his part.) - Subpar Guide to Nct Dream Take Two by softjun - Unhelpful Guide to WayV 2021 by Lao Gan Ma - Unhelpful Guide to Sungchan and Shotaro by cherryverse (the two new members that aren't in any units yet)

they're just a complete package like once you get into the fandom you would never running out of contents to watch 😂 also i've seen new fans sometimes stressing out over how to memorize members' names and faces and how to understand their concept and whatever... just enjoy. i never really had difficulties with all that bc, just as i said before, NCT are all over the internet. their youtube contents are like hundreds already so you'll just naturally.....yeah. i suddenly forgetting the point of my comment but i hope you get it 😂

Oh my god i'm so glad you're diving into NCT! This guide is super good and updated, the only thing it's missing is NCT 2020 and the 2 new members because this guide was made right before all that happened, but there aren't any more updated guides unfortunately. The next parts go in depth for the members and then I suggest the unhelpful guide to sungchan and shotaro and then the unit's individual guides.

dude i love your Taylor swift reactions! can't believe you're reacting to NCT too! You chose the right group. Their concept is unique even in the kpop industry. The number of members intimidates people, but they're full of amazing and talented people. oh dude, you will absolutely love their funny vids too. Waiting for part two(part two is split to two as well: 2.1/2.2) since it introduces the members and there’s a lot of them. They introduce the members from oldest to youngest.

wayv is the chinese unit of nct but up until around early 2020 there was something in place called the hallyu ban - it basically stopped wayv being able to be publicly seen or promoted as an nct unit for a while even though they still were - and it was basically fully broken when wayv joined the rest of the units for the big nct 2020 project! the majority of the music they prouduce is chinese due to most of them being of chinese decent and pre pandemic they were mainly promoting in china
@kyliekatekayediaries
@kyliekatekayediaries 3 года назад
The biggest music market would be western (US & Europe) also the Asian market which surprisingly makes Japan the biggest contributor. So yeah they are targeting the biggest music music market like US and Japan.
@sweetyongf
@sweetyongf 3 года назад
Also the thing about WayV is that all the members are Chinese, and like how 127 is spreading music from Korea to the world, WayV is doing that, but in China. China of course has it's own music industry and because of the ban they had on Korean entertainment, kpop groups couldn't grow there or enter the charts, but NCT circumvented this by making a chinese pop group to promote mainly there. Before the pandemic, the boys often traveled between Korean and China to promote on chinese reality shows, do chinese interviews, perform at chinese events, etc. In the past year they've been promoting more often in Korea (pandemic travel bans of course), but they're starting to go back to China recently. All their songs and albums are in Chinese (Mandarin), but they occasionally release Korean or English versions of their songs too.

NCT is a 23 member group (the number of the members may increase by time. For example they've added 2 new members in the late of 2020) NCT has 4 unites. NCT 127, NCT U, WayV, NCT dream. NCT 127: has fixed members and is including 10 members of NCT. (Currently just 9 members are active in NCT 127. And since the 10th member, winwin, has debuted in the chinese unite "WayV", hasn't showed up in recent NCT 127 activities. There is no statement from SM saying WinWin has left the NCT 127 yet. So we still consider him as a member of this unite. NCT Dream: Which included the youngest members in NCT. It has 7 members. It wasn't a fixed unit before and the members would have get graduated when they turned 20. But then they changed it to a fixed unite and graduating from NCT dream isn't a thing anymore. It's a fixed member unite now. WayV: is the chinese unite. They promote in china but they're a part of NCT and they live together in south korea. WayV is the only unite not having "nct" in their name and that's because of some problems between the two countries (china and korea). But they are from NCT. NCT U is not a fixed unit. It doesn't have specific members. Whenever NCT U is having a comeback it can be included of just 2 members or 10 and more. They just choose the members who fits the concept the most. Every single of NCT members can be in NCT U. Fyi they have shared members. For example, mark is a NCT member and he is in both NCT dream and NCT 127. and haechan too. He is in both units. In the end all the unites together, make NCT. Like the last MV they released at the late of 2020, resonance. It was a NCT comeback with the whole 23 members. They'll grow bigger and bigger💚 They've gathered together from 9 different countries and now made a big international group.

A lot of KPop groups do Japanese releases or Japanese version of their songs cuz Japanese fans are known as a great sells target, and the KPop industry is one big company of Korea, korean guverment inverts millions on KPop industry and they don't have many things to export so there is that. IDK if I explained well, I'm still learning english.

10:57 well.. that was kind of the point, the younger viewers were supposed to kind of graduate with members as they grew up and start listening to the nct units they joined that wpuld have more mature concepts and new child members would join dream and get a new audience of children because believe it or not children don't stay children forever, now instead the concept is that the audience just grew up with them but they are still in dream instead of joining other units and mark and haechan get to just be overworked forever instead of just becoming fulltime members of 127 like they were originally supposed to

At the time this guide was made China had a ban that no korean brand could promote on china, since nct is a korean brand than they couldn't directly promote (release music, go on shows, etc) on China wich is, in theory, WAYV's mission. Well... soon after this guide was made, China lifted the ban and WayV was freely promoted as part of NCT in a HUGE project called NCT 2020, where we gained 2 more members, an album that is double million seller FULL of NCT U songs, and a TON of content. WAYV has chinese members, they sing mainly in madarin, but they also have a couple songs in korean and english ( hail the queen 'Love talk'). NCT DREAM is gonna release new MV on the 10th, it'd be awesome if you could check it out. Thank you for reacting and giving NCT a try, we promiss it's worth it. Soon you will be shocked that you actually know all the members without noticing.

most kpop idols who have attained success domestically in korea span out to the japan market because that's where the money is and is also one of the closest country to korea. like korea, japan has some of the most loyal fanbases and companies use that to their advantage.

most kpop groups often release japanese songs or versions of some of their korean songs ' is a thing from a long long time very popular in japan indeed , some are active in china too especialy SM artists (from what ben noticing ,i hear more japaness releases and believe me theres a lot / i'm a multy stan :DD )

wayv is actually the chinese subunit of nct, so they don't just put out a few chinese songs and call it good! as for why kpop artists often make japanese releases, it's because of a number of factors but outside of korea and america, japan is probably(?) the biggest market for kpop. japan and korea are geographically very close and there are sometimes japanese idols in kpop groups. there are two japanese members in nct, for example. nct is over half foreign members, actually!
