I think "Welcome to My World" was symbolizing them leaving Kwangya. I think even before LSM left SM, Girls seemed to be the end of that story arch. But with LSM gone, we are probably going to get much less Kwangya since it was mostly a thing LSM really wanted. This album seems like a transition album since LSM was so heavily involved in their concept.
@@frz3rbRnotaku1 It’s going to be impossible to abandon the Kwangya thing completely but I don’t think there will be such a heavy emphasis on it anymore. Which I think is for the best because it allows for more flexibility with their comeback concepts
@@reinesss13 The whole Kwangya world and story/lore was mainly introduced/told through Aespa’s debut and comeback concepts. the other SM groups and soloists have not really expanded on the Kwangya lore in their comebacks. They have mostly just included the word Kwangya In lyrics. Even if LSM thought of the idea a long time ago, it wasn’t really introduced until Aespa’s debut. EXO’s original concept was about them being from EXOplanet and having powers. I have been a fan of Kpop and SM groups since 2012/2013. Even if LSM says all of the SM idols are connected through this Kwangya now, when has LSM ever introduced Kwangya before Aespa in any SM group/solo concept?
spicy is my favorite aespa comeback upon release. it keeps their signature sound, but is also bright and super fun to sing (similar to yeppi yeppi from the savage EP). it's definitely a song to just blast in the car with friends
I felt the same as you, the first time I heard the chorus I was pretty whelmed. Now the song is stuck in my head all day. Love the MV, the girls look amazing, and they clearly love the music from this EP cause they look so happy on stage too
I was a HUUUUGE SONE time ago, but honestly these aespa kids are the only ones with the same chaos, charisma, real authenticity and talent among all the new ggs.
WJSN was the only group that gave me the same kind of vibes as SNSD, but god knows when they'll comeback. Aespa's recent variety shows and content honestly opened my eyes. They're definitely my favorite 4th gen group right now. The members just fit so well together.
14:10 I adore the song because of the ending part (where they go 'cuz I'm too spicy for you heart, joy joy joy) to the point that I feel that I listen to the whole song just to listen to that part, it's so damn goood!!!
I fell head over heels over this song the first time I listened to it. So much that I went ahead and bought every version, I've never done that before with anyone.
It definitely sounds like Electric Shock + Hot Summer until the bridge which gave me all aespa. They said this song has been in the SM vault for YEARS, so I'm guessing they updated it a bit, but you can really only change the song so much. It definitely screams Gen 2.
I didn't realise Loona became one of your favourite groups 😮Aespa are probably my second favourite behind them though. There's been quite a few updates from the Loona girls recently but the main one is that their Odd Eye Circle subunit (Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Choerry) should be making a comeback in the very near future!
I knew from hearing the opening this was totally inspired by ms. spears especially the blackout era. I love in your face instumentals and production! the whole concept for this album did everything for me
I understand when you said you don't like their songs at the beginning. It happens to me too. After some listens and tiktok challenges, I ended up putting on my playlist.... and i love it...
I actually love the part of the chorus you didn't completely like and kinda disliked the part you instantly loved cause it sounded tooooo lively imo compared to the song/vibe/concept hahaha but now I like the whole song (specially Giselle's parts)
Spicy does get stuck in my head after I watch a reaction or if I watch a short of them doing the challenge but it's not something I would choose to play and ultimately for me it doesn't leave the biggest impression. I was really feeling how the song started as it was giving me like early Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani Hollaback Girl sass but then it never really fully returns to that same energy and sound throughout the rest of the song. I also wish there was more going on vocally. But tbf I'm not the biggest fan of SM's more garage electro type songs such as NCT 127's Chain so this just probably isn't for me.
I don't like this comeback at all. I loooove the Naevis/Kwangya concept, it's so interesting. So, I definitely want to go back😂 Sadly, this comeback was a big no for me
At first I missed the majesticness seen in the concept of Savage (which is my fav aespa song and era ever), but I think spicy is a very energetic and naturally fun song, I keep blasting it over and over
