I know you plan on reacting to each member of BTS but I just wanted to let you know this music video is a part of a trilogy by Agust D/Suga. The order goes Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. And just letting you know his name is pronounced Shoo-ga, it's short for shooting guard.

Agust D does what he wants, and he does not do his songs in English. He may in the future, but he doesn't need to at this point. He has songs that have some English, and some more English that others. But not in full English. he also does his interviews in his native tongue mostly. He has a triology, now that you've reacted to the second one, you should do all three. Also, you said something about him not being a boy band because no choreography. Well, You should check out his Haegeum choreography. It's amazing, and very highly skillful hip hop dance. *Suga aka Agust D's Trilogy:* Agust D - Daechwita (turn on CC's) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qGjAWJ2zWWI.html Agust D - Haegeum dance practice - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0zN2YxoPnD8.htmlsi=zQxPGLwZHxE50uPX Agust D - Amygdala (turn on CC's) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IX1dkYoLHVs.html *Meanings for the song titles* *Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.) *Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden. *Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. The Amygdala helps to store memories of events and emotions so that an individual may be able to recognize similar events in the future. Please react to the other two songs in order and do the Haegeum dance practice. 💜

Yes, BTS do multilingual rhyme schemes and wordplay, and also some words in Korean are taken from English and pronounced similarly if not identically. They also will rhyme Korean words and English words in songs.

I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD.... I hope the following info might be of interest to you. He began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in his hometown Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work. Suga (SHU-GA.... from Shooting Guard - the position he played in basketball) ...... AgustD = SUGA + DT (Daegu Town - his hometown) Spelt Backwards Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - this is his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control) Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". Haegeum has 2 meanings...1. it is a Korean traditional musical instrument with 2 strings and.... 2. to lift a ban/to free what was restricted. This is the middle song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as - Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place. Suga/AgustD was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, composed and produced the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control.... he is a true genius. Hope you have a great day💜💜

It is a work that explores the complexity of freedom in contrast to censorship and social restrictions. The title 'Haegeum' refers to a traditional Korean stringed instrument, but here it is used metaphorically to represent something that needs to be 'released' or 'untied'. The song's lyrics suggest a reflection on freedom of expression and how it can be limited by various factors, such as censorship, the oppression of ideas and even self-censorship motivated by fear of reprisals. Agust D invites the listener to 'get on board' with this freedom, to free themselves from the constraints that restrict individual expression. He highlights the importance of distinguishing between freedom and debauchery, suggesting that true freedom comes with responsibility and conscience.

Haegeum is a homonym--two words that sound the same. One is for the string musical instrument, 奚琴, that you hear in Haegeum. The other word, 解禁, means lifting a ban or restriction. The title at the beginning of the MV is the second Haegeum. The Agust D character with a scar that is killed at the end is a corrupt higher ranked police officer. And yes, the Agust D without the scar was stealing the other's money.

Haegeum has two meanings. As a previous commenter has said it can also mean The lifting of ban, or in Agust D’s words, “Freeing what’s forbidden.” But I also think there is a metaphor there for the instrument Haegeum. It has two strings, I think one string is freedom and the other is self indulgence. The freedom of speech that could be the cause of someone’s death is bullying. If you bully someone and tell them to die and they really die then where should the line be drawn between freedom of speech and indulging your baser nature in enjoying someone else’s pain? Does that make it okay if it was freedom of speech? Likewise, so many things we do in the name of our freedom actually end up making us prisoners. Some of the things he talks about, “slaves to hatred and prejudice” slaves to bragging and showing off, I would add slaves to addictions that we use our freedom to willingly walk into but then are unable to stop. I think that the message Agust D gives in this song, is to use your freedom carefully, because if it becomes self indulgence we can be destroyed and even destroy other people with that so called freedom.

Yes it's a Traditional 2 string Korean Instrument played with a bow an Suga was unable to get a note out of one on the Jimmy Fallon show but Jimmy managed to get one out. There is live of Suga and a band doing this track and it' has a person playing a Haegeum in the band.

You should have watched the first video in the trilogy but now that you've watched the second you should watch the last video in the trilogy amygdala

Notice in the MV he's doing something that 'Kpop Artist's' will get a lot of back lash for doing eg he's smoking. Many Kpop artist have faced attacks from kpop 'fans' and been in trouble with their Kpop companies if caught smoking.

My chopstick theory on why we focus in on the chopsticks both at the beginning and at the end. The Haegeum has two strings, like the two red chopsticks. The chopsticks represent his art. He both slays his enemies and feeds himself with his art.

BTS kind of break all the Kpop given Norms for the Kpop Industry one very clear one is that all 7 members have have at least one tattoo. Tattoo's are still taboo in South Korea and if they go onto South Korean TV they have to cover tattoo's up eitherwith clothing or make up. So you see Jungkook have to wear a top with sleeves and cover his hand due to his tattoos'. Jimin clearly showed off him Black Tattoo's more than once both in a fashion shoot and at the end of his MV for Set me free part 2. All the members have shown were their friendship tattoo the digit 7.

As motivation for this song's lyrics, celebrities in Korea are held to a completely different standard than regular Koreans For example, smoking cigarettes is extremely common in Korea - but God forbid a Korean celebrity is seen smoking! That is unacceptable to regular Koreans, who expect celebs to be icons of perfection that no human being can actually live up to... Several BTS members have been photographed smoking on their own time during their group hiatus, and it has been considered 'scandalous' - one big reason why Suga deliberately films his characters smoking in this MV It's considered a 'scandal' in Korea if idols like BTS date, swear, smoke, and gain weight -- this directly causes tons of online commentary and hate and can affect an artist's career Suga wants an end to all that, idols should be able to lead normal lives like celebrities in western cultures are allowed to do

Suga in this MV reminds me of Joker. This is part of the trilogy, along with Daechwta and Amygdala. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D", which is derived from the initials DT, an abbreviation for his birthplace, Daegu Town, and "Suga" spelled backwards. DT SUGA = AGUS TD
