Oh my sweet cheesecake. This movie is too Turkish for foreign people. There is many thing about 70s 80s and 90s in Turkey. For example costumes were used when he was singing were similar to Zeki Müren's costumes. Zeki Müren was called as "sun of art" in Tukey 😁
@@JanneNordman u r welcome ❤ Vizontele is a movie about peoplein east of Turkey in 70s-80s when the television was first watched there. You may enjoy with it. I have watched many many times and still not bored 😊
This movie is figuratively an ode to Turkish 70s 80s 90s both in terms of pop music culture and movie culture. Many of the jokes in the movie are directed at the longing sentiment within the Turkish population for those times, and resonates with it, such as the "You little nutcracker" or "Fındıkkıran" part, which is actually the song "Şımarık - Tarkan" for instance. This sentiment is slowly dwindling away in today's Turkey, which has its roots in the generation Cem Yılmaz is a part of, meaning this is a very contextual movie. Therefore I can totally understand why you wouldn't understand %60-70 of the jokes, so don't feel pressured. Your Turkish fanbase, myself included, is eager to explain every little joke anyways, we Turks don't really get a lot of opportunity to express our cultural dilemmas and plight and it feels really liberating to have the chance, if only for one Finnish man :)
2:50 It's not Elton John, it's Zeki Müren. He was a famous Turkish Classical Music singer from the sixties until he died in the 90s. As the matter of fact, most of the characters in this movie are based on real Turkish artists from the sixties. Many of them are not alive today or are too old. Likewise, the references also belong to those times.
Even we don't get some jokes at the first view, we watch it over again, there are many references that you can't understand unless you're familiar with the culture.
I like your reacting videos to Turkish films. Arif V 216 is very connected to Turkish popular culture. It is okay that you didn't get some jokes or references. I didn't see if that is mentioned before but I want to explain why Arif decided to became a singer back then. The songs he sang in the movie are hit Turkish pop songs in 90s generally. So he thinks if he sing these songs in 60s he will become famous and then it becomes true. I think that's a good joke and there are references to so many singer. For example; Mustafa Sandal is one of the famous pop singers and Araba is one of the hits of him. He is a guest actor as a taxi driver in film. In that scene, he is praising his own song while Arif is singing that song in the radio. :)
Thank you so much for the comment - I was smiling when I read it and imagined the scenes in the movie - it must have been so hilarious for Turkish people and what a smart thing to do if you end up in the past to sing hit songs of the future 😅
dude you got to watch vizontele and vizontele tuuba. they are great movies. zeki müren was a great singer and there was a joke in vizontele(where cem yılmaz plays a little role but kills it with a hilarious performance). that scene was a reference to it.
Thank for the comment - I need to watch the movie 😀

Why are you so insisting on Vizontele? That movie has a lot of Anatolian culture inside. I'm not saying that you shouldn't watch it but you may not found something from yourself in the movie.
I really liked your channel you are also so sympathetic. I am subscribing. I would love to explain the scenes but I am a little tired now ;))) thank you for theese good videos
Pls don't watch kolpacino, its full of shit basically, and jokes are far more local, you wouldn't get the 80% of the jokes. It's even 3/10 for me as a Turkish person.
it is a good movie for Turkish people because they put many old famous Turkish actors in the movie. we had valuable artists and seeing them in the movie is pretty impressive. Arif used Tarkan's voice (very popular pop star) to get money and made present's famous songs. so that he became popular in a short time. 7:05 we saw Bob Marley Faruk's childhood. I was really happy when I realized it was him. these kind of details are everything. btw love your videos, subscribed! ♥
The man with the final Ediz Hun. He was a legend of the Turkish Cinema sector which called YEŞİLÇAM. Probably as you guess it's like Hollywood. He was really a legend who stars in romance movies in 60s and 70s. He is also an academician.
The movies they recommend to you are usually movies with heavy humor. As you know, each language has its own unique humor and humor history. You had to be born in this country (Türkiye) to understand these movies. This movies like this: Example: Cem Yılmaz Movies, Kolpaçino, Vizontele etc.
You said you loved watching drama movies. Now I will recommend you a very good Turkish drama-philosophy film. Its name is "Winter Sleep". A masterpiece you should definitely watch.
This movie is a very high quality movie but as others said it's too Turkish for you to understand man. One of the key scenes of the movie was circumcision feast of a young boy. The speciality of this scene is most of the people were actually playing as the nostalgic starts of Turkish cinema & music. Not only that. Some of the roles were played by their own kids. And they really made similar looks to these starts. You should take a look at that scene again, but before you should see these starts in real life, Google for them: Zeki Müren (not exactly in this scene but in overall movie), Cüneyt Arkın, Sadri Alışık, Filiz Akın, Ajda Pekkan, Ayhan Işık etc. This movie is a real looking back to Turkey's music & movie world back in 60s & 70s. Oh btw, you mentioned you didnt understand that 60's libido-free movie thing. Well, most of the Turkish movies back in 60's and 70's were based on pure love. A person loves the other for who he/she is and sex is not the main focus point in these movies. The movie also kind of touches to that point. You see the love of 216 to the girl. Sex is not near anywhere in mind but there is love.
Thank you for writing all this. It was interesting to read. I remember the circumcision scene and I was shocked because I didn’t know that is a tradition in Turkey. I will watch that scene again with another point of view when I have googled the names you wrote. And yeah - I was also surprised the scene was one of the key scenes of the movie. I totally did not get that. Thank you for explaining the libido thing. It makes sense now and that’s true what you wrote about love & sex and 216. He was a nice character - even his giggly laugh made me smile even it could have been annoying very easily. Once again thank you for writing and explaining this to me 🙏🏻😊
@@JanneNordman You should definitely watch Cem Yilmaz one-man show, all Turkish jokes are there. at least it helps you to understand Turkish comedy movies :)
have you noticed that child bob marley faruk saw arif and 216 in the past, learned their story and he told erşan kuneri in the future (g.o.r.a erşan kuneri and bob marley faruk scene), so there is a reference to first movie
@@JanneNordman i really dont recommend ali baba. Thats a shitty movie filled with ads. Dont waste ur time, even i like cem yilmaz so much, i would pass. Yahsi bati is waaay better
Wow I realized that this movie is harder to get for you. Many more cultural things in it. Way more than gora and arog. But still can make u laugh a bit. ☺️
This is one of the hardest movies for you to understand because it includes a lot more elements that are related to turkish culture, and as a foreigner it is quite acceptable you wouldn't understand as much as you have understood in its prequels. You should definitely try yahşi batı though!
Hey, I just wanted to say that that the scenes with Erşan Kuneri (the rich music producer) is heavily and I mean HEAVILY loaded with Turkish humor that is relevant to the 80,s and 90,s. For example there is a quick scene where the rich producer talks to 2 weird clothed man, that dialogue is literally from the music of Barış Manço a super popular and really good singer that died in the 2000,s. I just wanted to say that with the fact you are not Turkish you got the film pretty well. And I think you should watch “ deliha “ 1 and 2. Real good Turkish comedy. Have a lovely day
@@JanneNordman Also, there was a Sadri Alisik scene in the film. The shabby guy who gives his hat to Sadri Alisik is son of Sadri Alisik, name is Kerem Alisik. Soo sentimental scene for Turks. The thin-moustached guy portrays Ayhan Isik, who nicknamed "The Crownless King", very iconic actor in Turkey, best friend of Sadri Alisik. And then, the guy with red jacket in the circumcision party, who portrayed Cuneyt Arkin is also Arkin's son, Murat Arkin :)))
@ Oh yes - I remember many wrote that the circumcision party involved a lot of "inside" actors and funny things. Unfortunately I didn't find that scene funny (no reactions on face) nor did I knew that it was a scene that so many likes.
I watched the film first to don't get any spoilers from your video, to be honest I'm still watching.. It's full with 60's-80's films clichés. I personally did not like the first half but turned into something good.
They go to past.and he becomes a singer.actually he uses the biggest singer's costumes before him.but he sings 2000's songs. They show us many actrists, actors in 1960's..so you don't know them.it must be understand..
Arif V 216'nın kamere arkası görüntüleri çekim aşamaları son derece eğlenceli tavsiye ederim... reactingları severek takip ediyorum... Biraz Kültürümüze yabancı olduğun için anlayamıyorsun ama ...olsun...
I'm waiting for ”Yahşi Batı” and ”Hokkabaz”. ”Yahşi Batı” is like a western comedy and ”Hokkabaz” like comedy , drama. These movies are Cem Yılmaz's movie. You should absolutely watch them.
@@JanneNordman Recep İvedik is an original character and his movies can't be worse than "Ölümlü Dünya". I think you should at least give it a try to first 1 or 2 movies of the serie. You can see Top 100 most watched Turkish Movies here: tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/En_çok_izlenen_Türk_yapımı_100_film .. People that tell you to not watch the R.İ movies are just bunch of snobs. Whether they like it or not this serie is a hit in Turkey. I can't believe i am defending Recep İvedik right now but i am a neutral person and i always try to stand up against injustice. So, I enjoyed the first movies of the serie and would like to see you react to it. But of course this doesn't mean you will or should like it too, like always I prefer you to be sincere in your reactions.
Thanks for the comment - I really like hearing a lot of opinions and point of views. It’s hard for me to pick a movie and also hard to find a movie with English subtitles. I’m happy to read that you like these videos 🙏🏻😊
Hello, you might not get the half of these jokes in that movie because there is so many mentions in 60s Turkish entertainment industry and we see the mentioned characters as cinema legend in here thats why we like that movie that much. I have a recommendation list for you. If you wanna watch turkish comedy movies you should especially check "Kahpe Bizans" which is the first of its kind in Turkey. 1. Kahpe Bizans 2. Organize İşler 3. Hacivat ve Karagöz Neden Öldürüldü? 4. Eyvah Eyvah 5. Düğün Dernek 6. Kolpaçino 7. Çalgı Çengi 8. Her Şey Çok Güzel Olacak 9. Hükümet Kadın 10. Neredesin Firuze These are best modern comedy movies in Turkey. You will like them too. If you want to dive deep down in culture. You can watch old ephic Turkish comedy movies. You should check the Kemal Sunal movies first. I recommend; 1. Kapıcılar Kralı 2. Hababam Sınıfı Merhaba (the old one not remake) 3. Şaban Oğlu Şaban 4. Sakar Şakir 5. Sahte Kabadayı
i watched some of your reactions and i think you should watch some movies with turkish person cause someone explains you that cultural credits this way you will enjoy all movies
i am 21 and i didn't even understand half of jokes in this movie. so there are jokes you don't understand more than you think but yeah it still a good movie
@@gldwve8144 I watched the movie last night and now I'm editing it - I try to get it done lates on Thursday morning, but hopefully for tomorrow sometime : )
I think you can react to some turkish songs too. The character that looks like Elton John is an imitation of a Turkish musician Called Zeki Müren. It might be interesting. Ty for the videos !
You should definitlly see vizontele its also full of village culturel jokes but its ama movie everyone in turkey loves and grow up with. İst one of the turkey cinema callassics
