Between Pink Venom & Shut Down, I’m glad that Shut Down was selected as the title track. Of course there’s already mixed reactions on Shut Down but there’s mixed reactions on a lot of songs from other kpop groups, it happens. Anyway, we haven’t quite heard a song like this from BP so this is bit different which is what I like about the song. One more thing, Jisoo’s voice definitely fits this song better than PV imo.

I think this is one of my favourite songs of blackpink with mi favourite Jennie's rap. I'm happy that she's getting some recognition for her rap abilities. In the album she raps Just in two songs and still think it's a shame for the main rapper. She's a good singer, but in raps she shines more. And Lisa, in this album is serving good vocals I'm so proud of her. Jisoo finally is getting a song that suits her voice tone in the chorus of Shut Down (so sexy and baddas). I think I prefer the first album, but this one is more mature and It's dope.

The fact that they combined all of their amazing songs to create something new and fabulous just probes how talented our girl are! 💗🖤

Their new album is 🔥. So much growth from all of them. The unexpected one for me from this album was Jisoo. She improved so much from her English to her performance. I’ve never really noticed her performance in the past but now I notice it, and she’s soooo cute. The girl’s dance performance to shutdown was great as well. All I have to say to that performance is Lisaaaaaaaa. She brought the swag yet AGAIN.

i was nervous to hear this since i wasnt in love with ready for love nor pink venom (i like them now), but this is A SERVEEEEEE and i am absolutely living for the entire music video being callbacks/references to their previous title track MVs. to me it really drives the message of the lyrics home and i am OBSESSED

For me this song is doing two things. 1. it is shutting down the old and in with the new. hence all the references to old songs and old sets used eg it opens with Lisa on the platform used in Playing with Fire... and 2 it is a massive dig at all their haters "keep talking we shut you down". They are saying you can say what you like, you can hate what you like but we are still here as never left better than ever. The ending alone says it all in words and visually. They go up.... and up into a new white room signifying a new start at a much higher level and or direction. Even the words. "We pull up you know its a shutdown" meaning where ever they go they have stopping power.
