Newer fans call them MinWon but it feels so weird to me! Meanie comes from their 17tv predebut days where some of them hadnt had their names released, so Meanie was a combo of Mingyu and Mr. Beanie (Wonwoo) lol. They all had codenames from the company to tell them apart, and Wonwoo always wore a beanie
I guess newer fans use minwon because mingyu himself came up with that unit name. Carats asked him what their unit name was and he said minwon instead of, as v expected, a food inspired name, saying min should come first and all that. Minwon as a name did exist before this but mingyu validating the name made it more fun
