The Ospreay vs Fletcher match is amazing. Cody should’ve given The Rock some color and made him his bitch for what had happened. He needed to do something to take The Rock out of the entire match for good.

@@diendong c’mon……Ospreay and Fletcher had MOVES but it was a never ending match with no build and no story (them being pals isn’t a story). At least Cody and Roman was a spectacle that had years long story, giant stars, call backs, believable selling, nothing in the match was preposterous cooperative gymnastics and then one of the most emotional finishes and post match segments in decades. Cody is the biggest star in professional wrestling, the champion. Roman is coming back with scores to settle. Meanwhile, Ospreay got in his feelings about a veiled comment HHH made and Fletcher is back dying a death in ROH. Gunther vs. Sami Zayn was better than Ospreay/Fletcher too.

Meltzer’s bias is showing…again.

Meltzer rarely ever gives 5 stars for WrestleMania. WrestleMania 39 is the only mania he gave multiple 5 stars. The two matches that received the score were the tag team title match and the intercontinental championship triple threat.

In total, only 4 mania matches have a meltzer 5 star rating. Those matches are: Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon WM10, Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin WM13, The Usos vs KO and Sami Zayn WM39 night one, and McIntyre vs Sheamus vs Gunther WM39 night 2.

It hasn't got Kenny or Okada in it. And it didn't take place in NJPW so It can't ever be a 5 star for Meltzer.

I mean the match was only 15 min, pretty slow paced, not much build either. It was just a beat down for a while, Gunther showboating, then a hulk up by Sami, 3 moves and a finish... not exactly an instant classic (thats on the same level as Bret/Austin to you?). The match was short and felt rushed at the end, it never went into high gear or reached a level of 'epicness' that an Okada/Omega, or Misawa/Kobashi match would (where you can actually feel the desperation of the wrestlers towards the end of their matches) Why 4.5 or 5 stars in your opinion? because of a turnbuckle brainbuster? Sure it was cool spot and rare for WWE, and also a nice call back to El Generico... but that exact spot has already happened a couple times this year so its not that special. To me at least, the rest of the match could have easily happened on an episode of RAW, it felt like your typical 15 min RAW main event, a good RAW main event, but a RAW main event no less Honestly you saying that it would be easily 5 stars if it was in any other promotion is a far more ridiculous thing to say than anything I have said

Nah, I enjoyed the match but it was very one-sided for most of the match, with the dominant wrestler being Gunther, which made it slow paced. Nice David vs Goliath match but can't give it anything above 4-stars, personally I'd say it was a 3.5-star match. Just to add to my reasoning, my son is a massive Sami fan and also loves Gunther, but he began to lose interest when Gunther started hitting top-rope splashes. The finish got him back on board but even as a 10 year old, he couldn't believe how little it took for Gunther to go from controlling the match to a clean loss..

They honestly performed like they didn’t want to go through with the match. It was so lazy just super kicks, and jimmy saying he was wrong for like 30 seconds to do an obvious fake out. I was so looking forward to this match, and omg I was disappointed.

@@cameronmowat6638 They prolly got big creative control in their match and it shows. Definitely room to improve there. It exposed all their weaknesses (including the poor variety of moves)

We don’t anymore but it’s good to watch people laugh at his ratings if you have a bit of spare time

@@callums3172 he seems like such an arrogant jerk. This is supposed to be fun for everyone but he acts like his word is gospel. For instance his rating on the pride vs the final testament made me made. I loved it. It was fun, had nostalgia, high spots, and even with the mess up on the table spot they were able to keep cool and finish. But because it wasn’t what meltzer wanted he gave it 1 star. I bet if it was the same match in new Japan it would be at least 4 and would have forgiven any mistakes they made

We can disagree and poke fun at how ridiculous some of them are, but I don't think it's fair to accuse him of arrogance or claiming superiority or smth because he never really did. Even he doesn't even care about them sometimes in his own words.

And that's a testament to just how good the card actually was. Remove rose-colored glasses, and remove head from Paul's ass, and it was really just a ho-hum card, with a main event that had too many run-ins to be taken seriously.

It's all subjective. And that's your opinion which you're entitled to. Personally, I think it was a big MOMENT, and quite the spectacle, but I can't rate any match with that many run-ins higher than a one. It was a giant cartoonish clusterfuck. On the main event of the biggest show of the year, I expect a clean finish ending the feud. You don't really get that with 17 guys interfering.

Best in WWE history? Nah nah

No it was NOT, the best ever WWE match was Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. The main even at 40 is not 5 star worthy it is worth 2 star worthy TOPS, it really was not a good match in any way shape or form.

Osprey has 37 5 star matches while WWE in its entire history only has 18, almost half of those being NXT shows. How anyone can take him seriously is a mystery to me.

I swear to y’all I was thinking the same thing. He legit had to have rated this out of spite. NXT Takeover NY had so many run in and he gave that match a 5.25. Osperay vs Fletcher was just a regular match on TV with zero build but excellent in-right quality and it got a 5. But quite possibly the biggest match of this generation, with this much hype that had excellent in-ring work, story, crowd investment, and ending and it got a 4.75? How are you gonna say it’s a 5 star match and then in the same breath say 4.75.
