In fairness, since most of us don't dive we probably wouldn't have any constructive criticism so we might as well get a laugh out of it :D and there was no hope for the last guy anyway
Hi Tom, I don’t really know if you read the comments but here I come. I just wanted to tell you that a couple of weeks ago I finished your book “coming back from air” and I really loved it. It made me realice that being and athlete it’s not so easy as it seems. the strength to overcome everything you've been through in your life truly inspired me. I also loved the parts when you speak about Robbie and lance, you have the cutest family . The book is totally worth it 😉
I also readed his book and I would never realize how much you have too endure and how they try to control your life I now understand all the pressure, Great book
I hope you dive again Tom even if it's just for fun I love watching you dive. The control you have over your body is amazing. Loved the video. Laughed the whole time🤣
This was great. I'd love a video where you teach us how dives are scored. I really enjoy watching diving, but I hate that I never know if a dive was great or not great and always have to defer to the judges. So knowing a few basic things to look for to indicate a good dive from a bad dive, where deductions are made etc., would be really helpful!
You'll know that someone is a professional when he/she already knew that something is going to fail just by seeing the first few movements people make. AMAZING!
Love everything you do...but I told Lance's turtle, michelle joke at our family dinner and we all laughed till we peed our pants! We still laugh about it days later. You are the best!
I would recommend doing a day in your life as what you are up to nowadays? A video on that. Doing more videos with Lance cooking etc etc. Love you and your family 👪 ❤
not sure if "enjoy" is the correct word for this video, but i do appreciate Tom's explanations, and will try to keep some of his practical advice in mind if ever I find myself at a friend's swimming pool and think I should attempt a dive ... though definitely NOT from a 10 meter height, nor even from 5 meters!
I’d love to hear you talk about some different events in the Winter Olympics. As an Olympian, even in a very different sport, I bet you’d have lots of cool insights on training, mental preparation, strategy, and more. ✌️
Hysterical! I know I shouldn't laugh but I always do. 😂 Also way back in my swim team days, I did slip off of the block at a big meet .. mortified .. but had a good laugh later. Love a good reaction video. Thanks for the afternoon giggle. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 💙
I love to watch Olympics Diving, but never follow anyone. Merely voting for countries. You are the first! I discovered you by chance while searching desperately for the Tokyo reruns as I was working when you were diving. I enjoyed watching this, I learned a lot. I do small dives from top of boat to the sea. I will remember your advice. PS: Sending this message from Hong Kong.
Tom is a dead-set sweetheart. All his comments were respectful (even complimentary in a few) despite most being a flop of a dive. I never really knew him before watching his bronze medal in the individual 10m Platform at the Tokyo Olympics & feel I’ve missed out! Diving is always one of my favourite Olympic events & congrats to him for the bronze & he & Matty for the gold in the 10m Platform synchro. I can see why he had 1.2m subs - he’s simply a wonderful human-being & if everyone was like him, we’d have so many less problems in the world. Sending my love from Australia. ❤️🇦🇺🏳️🌈
The British commentators love him too / one of them was Toms mentor for years and years / won an Olympic silver medal in diving so he was going wild when Tom and Matty won would be fun to do both commentaries maybe/ like a comparison
I think this was a good video idea, and I loved your comments. I would like to see you do some ASMR. Favorite comment: "If you're going to do that you should be a LITTLE more cautious".
It's interesting how on some of those, you start reacting the moment the diver's feet leave the board because, from your experience, you already know what's gonna happen whereas us spectators have to wait for the end result to see the disaster unfold.
That first one I've seen a couple of times at the Masters Nationals short course. Surprisingly easy to overbalance when you're tilting forward to get the start advantage. Reason why my reaction time is so slow because I'm scared of doing this lol.
This hurts me just watching it! I had a meet yesterday and landed flat on my back! My whole back is this purpleish color 😬 (Quite similar to the dive at 5:38 but without the bubbles)
Bonsoir Tom. J'ai bien rigolé durant cette vidéo malgré quelques scènes ! 😨 J'adore ta façon de présenter tes vidéos. Continues, c'est très bien, ton humour très british.
Hi Tom ... many congratulations for becoming a multiple Olympic medal winner! ... you are National Treasure ... I have watched you grow up and mature as one of the worlds greatest divers ... what do you think of world record breaking high dives? .. I'm not sure what the record is but I know it's a terryfying height! ... wishing you all the best for your future happiness you deserve it x (and stay looking handsome)!
for 0:53 it probably has happened to a lot of swimmers so let me explain: when it’s said “take your marks” if you squize yourself too much while trying to lean forward you can lose your balance and believe me that guy probably knew that he was going to fall but once you start to fall onwards there’s nothing you can do hopefully this helped !
That was funny clip that shows diving fails but made me laugh is Tom Daley jumped he didn't see that coming 😄 way not try innuendo bingo with your husband Dunstan Lance black in the next video
