This is the song that Israel should have represented Israel at the Eurovision. But the union rejected it, so Israel changed the words a bit. Eden sang it at a rally for the return of the abductees, in which the families of the abductees also participated. And thank you for supporting Israel. Long live Israel ❤️❤️❤️🇮🇱
@@RadioTeo The changes: - The melody. - "Hours & hours & flowers" instead of "empowers" (a flower is the israeli military code name for a dead soldier (301 were murdered in the massacare). - "Life is no game for the cowards" - I'm actually not sure but I assume she means the r@py terrorist who targeted civilians and elders and kids. - "We got nothing to hide" instead of "I got.." - "Take me home" instead of "take it all" (regarding the hostages) - "NEVER AGAIN" - the meaning is obvious... - "I'm still wet from this October rain"....... 😢 - The hebrew part was changed to: "no need for big words / only prayers / even if it's hard to see / You (God) alway leave a little light for me" - but in this original version she says: "There's no air to breath / there's no space / there's no me (hebrew slang for when you're emotionally crushed) from one day to the next (as in, it gets worse daily) / they are all good kids, every single one". May their memory be a blessing and #bringthemhomenow !!
am Israeli and i want to thank you for this reaction. It's not a matter of politics or taking sides, but it's about your ability to show sensitivity and empathy that is highly appreciated and not taken for granted at all ❤
Thank you for this video, for your honest opinion, your support, understanding... So, your reaction gives a little bit of hope to the people. They really need it.
Ok, so 'Hurricane' was originally named 'October Rain' and was written by Israeli composer, Keren Peles. This lyrics was the original one. once the EBU recievced it it disqualified it, saying it was 'too political' (such words as "promise me that never again" don't sit well with Europe, for some reason), so it was changed and besically censored. On the Israeli stage Eden felt finally safe enough to cry out this song, which was dedicated to the 364 victims of the #Nova festival masscre. It sounds painfully like Hurricane because it's the original song.
Eden is an amazing performer and has a very special voice in both sad and happy songs. Recommends following her songs from the television singing competition called the next star that was in Israel. She is gorgeous. This year Israel is at war after we went through a terrible massacre on October 7th and the whole country is still hurting and bleeding.... both for those who were brutally murdered and for those who are still in captivity. The song October Rain talks about the horrible massacre. 1500 Israelis, and not only... who were brutally murdered, some at the Nova music festival and some in their homes. Women, men, children, old people and even dogs 😥 Eden sings from the depths of her heart the pain of all of us. She is a good person and did not deserve the boos....She is 20 years old and came to Eurovision to develop her career, she has nothing to do with governments and what is happening. Thank you for this video of Eden that you shared ❤️ Peace and Love
Just one addition to this explanation: the first lines in the original rejected song, that she sang here, are "Writers of the history, stand with me" and the lines were changed for Eurovision to "Writers of my symphony, play with me" ETA: also, "We've got nothing to hide" was changed to "I've got nothing to hide"
The place where Eden performed the song in this video is in Tel Aviv and is now called h stage square. There is a huge table there, set for all the h stages. We know all of them by name and face, we know their stories and we need them back. The very last words in Hebrew in the original version were: they were all good kids, every one of them.
@@RadioTeo by going into Rafah, so far four were recovered but they were not alive. But at least now they can get a proper burial in Israel. we are still waiting to hear about the Bibas family, The youngest son is still a baby.
To me, and most of us, Eden is a hero. She stood before a hostile crowd with beautiful dignity. Thank you so much to see this horrible situation as it is. You are a pure soul.
Theres many changes in the song , thr hebraw part at the is also fully chnaged , this is the traslation - 💙 "Theres no air to breath, theres no place , theres no left of me day by day, all of them are good kids , each and every one"
Thank you for being so human. It's really inspiring to see that still there are people in this world who believe in good, and that people can do things to help others without thinking just about themselves. And also I think you are courageous to express here your honest opinion. 👏👏 I also agree that Eden has the most beautiful voice and great, great talent!!
Wonderfull, thank you! There are still 128 men, women, children and elderly people kidnapped in Gaza. The youngest one is baby Kfir Bibas (1 year old), and the oldest one is Shlomo Mantzur (86 years old).
A great emotional performance by Eden Golan. To quote from a website: "The organisers of the contest, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden, this year, took issue with Israel's original entry, October Rain, which referenced the October 7 Hamas attacks and the ongoing conflict with Palestine. As a result, the original song was banned by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for breaking rules on political neutrality. The lyrics have now been reworked, and the title renamed Hurricane." There are comparisons between the original lyrics and the ESC version on the internet.
I think EBU had a double standard because Jamala sang a song about a genocide of her people by Soviets and it wasn't political enough, even though Ukraine was invaded by Russia in 2014. Where is a line when expression of grief on Eurovision becomes political issue?
@@РегінаБедерак Yes, it's dubious how decisions are made on ESC. It was supposed to be about music, but unfortunately it has become more and more political over the years.
And the original version she sings here : Writers of the history Stand with me Look into my eyes and see People go away but never say goodbye Someone stole the moon tonight Took my light Everything is black and white Who's the fool who told you Boys don't cry Hours and hours and flowers Life is no game for the cowards Why does time go wild Every day I'm loosing my mind Holding on in this mysterious ride Dancing in the storm We got nothing to hide Take me home And leave the world behind And I promise you that never again I'm still wet from this october rain October Rain Living in a fantasy Ecstasy Everything's meant to be We shall pass but love will never die Hours and hours and flowers Life is no game for the cowards Why does time go wild Every day I'm loosing my mind Holding on in this mysterious ride Dancing in the storm We got nothing to hide Take me home And leave the world behind And I promise you that never again I'm still wet from this october rain October Rain October Rain לא נשאר אוויר לנשום אין מקום אין אותי מיום ליום כולם ילדים טובים אחד אחד (There's no air left to breath There's no space I'm gone day by day Everyone is good kids one by one)
Europe doesn’t know what to be constantly subject to attacks, bombings, well, it seems like peacetime, but in Israel it’s not, but no one cared what was happening here, until I note that this war was imposed on us, we began to respond, but now we’re bad, it’s unlikely Europeans can understand this, what it means to fear for your life every day. Eden came to the competition, performed and did everything that was needed for a song competition, she did great. Peace for everyone
I love her voice and it's such a beautiful song, catchy, yet also full of heart. I wish her well and that everyone comes back home save and that Is*ael (the government in particular) finds it way back to the path of humanity - so the world can embrace this nation once again for things like this song. I appreciate your analysis of the contest and the whole situation.
Thank you for seeing the good and the incredible talent of our Eden. So many others in Eurovision disrespected her and even blamed her for risking the safety of everyone just because she represents Israel at this time. I guess when it comes to Israelis; you should blame the 20 year old girl for singing in a music contest instead of the radicals that want to hurt her.
Thanks for your honest and sensitive opinion 💙🇮🇱💙 October rain was rejected by EBU since they believe some of the lyrics are political and 🇮🇱 had to make some text changes.. hence.. hurricane
There is only one ideal in the world, which is the light of knowledge - the light of truth. Abhijit Naskar Neuroscientist Poet What you commented is true and deeply appreciated by this living soul. Eden is phenomenal!! The lyrics are sublimely meaningful and simple. I have watched this over a hundred times (no exaggeration). I actually listened to it in one day, alone, from morning to sun-down. How can a song sung by a young woman evoke the same trembling traveling upwards from the spine accompanied by weeping? Are the angels weeping with me? Is this song divinely inspired? Eden's singing these lyrics alone transcends Eurovision. A Masterpiece!! Now, "October Rain" with only a few allterations. For myself, the true winner was the lyrical purity of Eden Golan's soul and voice. Eden personified two qualities lacking, humility, and love. Hate will never end in peace. From Washington State ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
It was named "Hurrican" in the Eurovision, becuse they made Israel change the words. The Europian Eurovision commity said it's "too political and divisive"
Thank you very much for your support of Israel. Thank you very much for your truth The nation of Israel is alive and well and no one will be able to defeat us 🇮🇱🇮🇱 🇮🇱 us I'm Israeli and a proud Jew, this perfect song illustrates so much what we went through on 7/10/23, the perfect voice and the amazing delivery of Eden Golan that managed to illustrate everything, the enormous pain we went through and that we're still going through and it won't end until we return all our hostages home now Eden Golan is our queen👑 the pride of the people of Israel The nation of Israel is alive and well No one can extinguish our light And we will dance again ❤️🇮🇱🙏💔😭❤️🇮🇱
Antisemitism is everywhere. Eden wasn't even allowed to wear the David's shield because it was too political, while it is a Jewish symbol and part of the Israel flag. Of course, the whole stage was a cross (like in the Swedish flag). She couldn't wear the "free the hostages" ribbon, the Swedish artist wore the Keffiyeh, etc... The lyrics were asked to be changed over and over. Everything to get Israel off the competition, delegitimize Israel participation and existence, everything to make her feel unwanted and unwelcome. And its not against her specifically, it's against the whole Israeli nation. And the message was sound and clear. The booing, the bullying. Like a group of immature and reckless group of people throwing tantrum. Good thing there was another message. The one that came from the people who voted from home.
Hi Teo, i have seen some of your other reaction videos. You are such s kind guy with a good heart. ❤ Its good to see that there is a young person like you out there, who is wiser and more sensitive and mature than many others. Like Eden you also bring light to the world with your kindness. I wish you a happy life.

Thank you for saying these things, it's so true! and I think Eden is also so talented that she even deserves to win because she's amazing singer and amazing performance and amazing personality
The rules with Eurovision you can’t have a political agenda and they said that if you seen the song with October rain, it is a politically motivated so they would’ve disqualified Israel and kicked them out of the Eurovision if they had sang the original
These are the lyrics for the eurovision version Writer of my symphony Play with me Look into my eyes and see People walk away but never say goodbye Someone stole the moon tonight Took my light Everything is it black and white Who's the fool who told you boys don't cry Hours and hours, empowers Life is no game but it's ours While, the time goes wild Everyday I'm losing my mind Holding on in this mysterious ride Dancing in the storm I got nothing to hide Take it all and leave the world behind Baby promise me you’ll hold me again I’m still broken from this hurricane This hurricane Living in a fantasy, ecstasy Everything is meant to be We shall pass but love will never die Hours and hours, empowers Life is no game but it's ours While, the time goes wild Everyday I'm losing my mind Holding on in this mysterious ride Dancing in the storm I got nothing to hide Take it all and leave the world behind Baby promise me you’ll hold me again I’m still broken from this hurricane This hurricane לא צריך מילים גדולות רק תפילות אפילו אם קשה לראות תמיד אתה משאיר לי אור אחד קטן
Thanks for your comment. It has more to do than being surrounded by the people. This is the initial version which has been disqualified by ECU that runs Eurovision for being "political" so the lyrics had to be modified. The song is not about a Hurricane but rather the Hamas massacre which took place last Oct , as well as the victims and hostages. That is why the title was October Rain. Basically, the ending in Hebrew says it all: ( It does rime in Hebrew) There is no air to breath, no space, none of me from day to day all of them are good children one by one
The lyrics were changed for Eurovision. They removed references to never again. The line "wet from October rain" is from the testimonies of the survivors of Nova that were buried under the bodies of their dead friends and were covered "wet" in the blood of their loved ones. The Hebrew was changed. She says she can't breath, there is no air, they were all good boys and girls.
