If this performance doesn’t move a person, that person has no soul. Eva was suffering from cancer at the time of this performance however she was unaware of that fact. This was recorded January 3, 1996 and she sadly passed November 2, 1996. Such a loss.

And we must never forget she played the guitar as well so beautifully. This demanded skill and attention. And she seemed so alone and sad as she deeply moved our hearts. It struck me as a Lament for the vagaries of our lives - asking questions - simple questions - that impact us but have no definitive answers. Yet we must carry on. Thank-you.

She was so amazing! I couldn't believe how talented and charming she was. She had the whole crowd cheering and clapping for her. She sang with such passion and emotion, and her voice was like an angel's. She was the star of the show, and I was so lucky to witness this video. She made me feel so happy and inspired. She was so amazing!

Eva was an incredible talent and I have to recommend diving deeper into her work, Sting himself, praised her rendition of Fields of Gold, but she knocks it out of the park with every song she does.

Eva Cassidy was an American singer and guitarist who was born in Washington, DC, in 1963. She grew up in a musical family and started singing and playing guitar at a young age. She performed in various bands and venues in the Washington area, covering a wide range of genres such as jazz, folk, blues, pop, rock, gospel and country. She had a distinctive and expressive voice that could convey deep emotion and soul. In 1992, she released her first album, The Other Side, a set of duets with go-go musician Chuck Brown. In 1996, she released her second album, Live at Blues Alley, which was recorded live at a jazz club in Washington. She died of melanoma in 1996 at the age of 33. She was unaware of her illness until a few months before her death. Her music was largely unknown outside of Washington until after her death, when her recordings were discovered by British DJ Terry Wogan and producer Paul Walters. Her posthumous album Songbird (1998) became a huge success in the UK and Ireland, reaching number one on the charts and selling over four million copies. It featured her version of "Over the Rainbow", which was voted as one of the top 100 songs of all time by BBC Radio 2 listeners in 2005. She has been praised by many artists and celebrities such as Sting, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Katie Melua, Bette Midler and Michelle Obama for her talent and influence. She has received several awards and honors for her music, such as the Brit Award for Best International Female Artist in 2001 and the Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 2017.I hope this helps you learn more about Eva Cassidy. She was a very talented and inspiring singer who left a lasting legacy with her music. She was the third of four children born to Hugh and Barbara Cassidy. She had a brother named Dan and two sisters named Anette and Margret. She attended Bowie High School in Maryland, where she sang in the school choir and played guitar in a band called Stonehenge. She worked as a plant nursery worker, a furniture painter and a mural artist before pursuing music full-time. She was influenced by singers such as Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Ray Charles and Joni Mitchell. She never had a formal vocal training or a singing coach. She was very shy and modest about her singing abilities and often suffered from stage fright. She was not interested in fame or fortune and preferred to sing songs that moved her rather than follow the trends of the music industry. She was engaged to musician Chris Biondo, who also produced some of her albums. She was buried at Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia She was a very humble and genuine person who loved music with all her heart.

The song "Over the Rainbow" is a ballad composed by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg ⁴. It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and was sung by actress Judy Garland in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and became Garland's signature song. It expresses Dorothy's longing for a better and happier life somewhere over the rainbow, away from her troubles in Kansas. It was inspired by a rainbow that Harburg saw over New York City after a storm. It was almost cut from the film because the producers thought it was too slow and too mature for a young girl to sing ⁴⁶. However, it was saved by associate producer Arthur Freed and Garland's vocal coach Roger Edens. It was recorded in a single take by Garland, accompanied by the MGM Studio Orchestra conducted by George Stoll. It has been covered by many artists over the years, such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Patti LaBelle, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, Ariana Grande and Eva Cassidy. It has been ranked as one of the greatest songs of all time by various sources, such as the American Film Institute, Rolling Stone, BBC Radio 2 and the Recording Industry Association of America. It has been used in many films, TV shows, musicals and commercials as a symbol of hope, dreams and nostalgia. It is a very beautiful and timeless song that has touched many hearts. The song was originally titled "The Jitterbug" and was part of a deleted musical sequence in The Wizard of Oz. The song was the last thing that Garland ever said to her father, who died of meningitis when she was 13. The song was banned by the BBC during World War II because it was considered too depressing for the public. The song was the first music ever heard on the moon, when astronaut Buzz Aldrin played a cassette tape of it during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. The song was performed by Barbra Streisand at the memorial service for Judy Garland in 1969. The song was sung by Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie (1979) and by Lea Michele in Glee (2009). The song was adopted as an anthem by the LGBT community, especially after Garland's death and the Stonewall riots in 1969. I hope this gives you more interesting facts about this song. It is a very influential and iconic song that has transcended its original context.

Wiz of Oz has sinister overtones. Parallels of deep state..control...censoreship...monetary system backed by gold..which has disappeared....printing money out of thin air now Characters represent various narrative

Just to let you know before I even listen to your reaction video, Just seeing the post is enough now to make burst into tears of pure joy. GOD has created a way for a song written in 1939 to reach through time to 2023 and 2024 by a performance done in 1996 by an Angel dying of cancer, to give pause in a World of such Demonic goings on, to have an experience of pure joy, AMEN and AMEN. I don't even have ro listen to it any more. Just seeing the post causes me to completely brake down
