The choreography for EXO's "Electric Kiss" is one of the most complex dances in the industry. There are more than 30 unique transitions in this dance and they are constantly moving. No one is in the same position twice in the dance.
Fun fact: Those jersey's EXO are wearing in their "Cream Soda" dance practice are practically vintage at this point. LOL. Those are shirts SM had made when EXO was promoting their concert around the time of their XOXO album and their song "Wolf," etc. way back in 2013. EXOPlanet is referring to the name of one of their concerts, and it's part of EXO's storyline and group concept. Just wait, when Kai comes back from the military and EXO holds a concert, they most likely will perform "Cream Soda," and they will revamp the choreography to include him in the song. With live performances the choreography is changed every time a member is absent or if another member is added, etc. Therefore, we have to hold out hope that they will perform it again in the future with Kai in the song. He was actually in the process of learning the choreography and practicing with the other EXO members when he found out he had to enlist, so it was originally designed with all the members involved. Besides their names, you may have noticed that all the members have numbers on the front and back of their shirts. The numbers you see on their shirts here, as well as the ones you will see them wearing in concert and in some of their MVs, are special numbers chosen by each of the members. For example: > Suho's number is 1 because as the leader he is No. 1 and he was the first one to be made a member of EXO. > Kris -- a former member of EXO-M (EXO's Mandarin Chinese sub-unit) that left EXO in 2014 -- his number was 00 because he was the leader of EXO-M (It was said that Suho was the mom of the group and Kris was the dad and when you combine 1 and 00 it becomes 100 or 100% complete as leaders.) > Xiumin's number is 99, which the reason is a little complicated -- 88 is morse code for XOXO, which is shorthand for hugs and kisses, or it can also mean EXO like their album title XOXO. Plus, during EXO's "Wolf" song era, which is when the idea of their numbers was first developed, Xiumin's teaser promoting their "Wolf" comeback was the 11th teaser released, so 88+11= 99. > Luhan -- a former member of EXO-M, who left the group in 2014 -- chose number 7 because his favorite soccer player's number is 7. > Lay is 10 because he was born in October and also in Chinese there is a saying that uses the word 10 and it means perfection, so it's a play on words. > Baekhyun is 4 because 4th grade was when he started to get interested in becoming a singer. > Chen's number is 21 (Sept. 21) because it's his birth date. > Chanyeol's number is 61 because his nickname growing up was Park Chanho, who is a famous Korean basketball player, and his jersey number is 61. > D.O.'s number is 12 because it represents his birth date (Jan. 12) and it also stands for 12 members of EXO. > Tao -- a former member of EXO-M, who left the group in 2015 -- was 68 because 6+8=14 and this was the date his "Wolf" MV teaser was released. > Kai's number is 88, and his reason is also a little more complex. As mentioned before, 88 stands for XOXO (hugs and kisses/EXO), which was the name of their "Wolf" album, etc. But Kai chose the number because H is the 8th letter in the English alphabet and HH stands for hip-hop, which he used to represent the fact that he is the main dancer. > Sehun is 94 because he was born in 1994. Now you need to check out EXO's behind the scenes footage of them in the recording studio recording this song, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uGrsRnkb4tk.html, as well as them in the dance studio practicing this dance, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fFapahgjwew.html. This is one of the first dances I watched when I “discovered “ EXO six years ago. I was enchanted and astounded with their ability to float around to new positions without checking where everyone was. Just slid right into their position! I’ve not yet found another group that can do this.
There are so many great dance practices for you to explore. Here are some of my favorites that you haven't watched: EXO: Obsession, Monster, Growl, Love Me Right EXO-CBX: Blooming Day, Ka-CHING! Kai: Mmmh, Reason, Peaches, Rover Lay: Flying Apsaras, Honey, Namanana, Veil Baekhyun: Bambi
Hi! So glad you're enjoying EXO's dance practices. EXO has iconic choreos -- changes w/ the song, smooth transitions, requires precise, fast & sharp movements. EXO is one idol group w/ no dance hole, all members dance impeccably (though, I may say, Kai has proven that he's the best as many idols idolized him too). Thanks for your reaction.
Yes! Exo members are all good dancers and their choreo are craaaaazy! Your reactions to Kai are so relatable! Cant help but exclaim if you're watching him!
Kai has the ability to watch a dance for five minutes and can then recreate it perfectly! I often watch their dance practices at .75 or even .5 speed. And I still miss half the things you notice.
If you like EXO's version of "The Eve," you should hear the English version of the song. "The Eve" was co-wrote and composed by Henry Lau from Super Junior-M and he sings a short demo version of the song in English. There is a clip of Henry in the recording studio singing the song you should see. Henry is the youngest member of Super Junior -- which is an SM Entertainment group, who are seniors to EXO -- and he is considered a music genius. The English version is less than 2 minutes long, but once you hear it you will understand why the choreo for this song was designed the way it is. 😁 (For example, I'm pretty sure the move where they cross their arms above their head is supposed to look like their wrists have been tied up. Yes, the undertone of the song is all about sexual innuendo. LOL) Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian, so his first language is English. He recorded a demo of the song so everyone can hear the English lyrics that he wrote and get a feel for the original style of the song. But unfortunately, SM never had Henry record the full English version, which most listeners will agree is a shame, because Henry's vocals and the English lyrics would have made this song an even bigger hit than it already is. There is no MV for "The Eve" because it's a B-side track. After seeing the choreography, it would be pretty hard to imagine this song having an MV that would be acceptable for mainstream Korean audiences. LOL What kind of story do you think they would be telling in the MV while dancing like this? 😂 If you really want to see how to do the moves in "The Eve" choreography, check out episode 7 of the reality TV show The Devil Wears Jung Nam, where Kai teaches his boss, actor and fashion consultant Bae Jung Nam, the dance for "The Eve."
I love how different members sing the cream soda part!!! if it were a different group, they would have used the same one or two members (if two can do it) to do the same parts esp if they’re high or hard to sing (not trying to belittle others at all since that’s the usual thing you’d expect, exo’s just… unusual😅 hahah) 20:55 - chen 21:02 - kai 21:48 - suho 21:59 - baekhyun 22:36 - d.o. 22:50 - xiumin
i got started with EXO by being introduced to their vocals and i thought they probably have nothing in the way of choreo because they're so damned good at singing. then i saw a few dance practices and realized these guys are the absolute total package. my understanding is that several of the members couldn't dance at all when they became trainees. baekyun for instance, instead of dancing in his audition, he simply clapped. they used to have to hide chanyeol behind everyone else. now look at them =)
their jerseys with name on it comes way back 2013 too. it started w/ WOLF 88. & this WOLF 88 shirt became a syndrome 🤣🤣 back then, everywhere you will see that shirt. the numbers with the name at the back also started in 2013. 1 - Suho 99 - Xiumin 10 - Lay 4 - Baekhyun 21 - Chen 61 - Chanyeol 12 - D.O. 88 - KAI 94 - Sehun I hope you'll react with Lay's (Zhang Yixing) solo works next time! LIT by Lay Zhang is the way to start it (MV & Dance Practice).
You should watch Lay's solo stuff. He is the other main dancer of Exo and unfortunately wasnt in these dance practices. The man is such an amazing dancer.
if you ever thought of trying LAY ZHANG's works, you may start with "LIT" music video & dance practice. Lay Zhang Dance Practice: •LIT •Veil •Honey •Flying Asparas •NAMANANA •Give Me A Chance
Please including Lay for your reaction to exo solo member. For Lay songs you should react are LIT and LIT dance practice perform, Honey, Veil, DNA Cypher too. thank you, i always waiting your video reaction to exo member.
Tbh exo was probably more in sync back then so we tend to tease them about not getting the Love Me Right claps in sync these days 😭 Xiumin really wanted some tough dances though since he's usually the one doing the running from one part of the stage to the other side 💀 so he can take it and he nailed it but said Cream Soda was a tiring dance. So yeah the EXOs had to practice this a lot to get back into group performances after a couple of years of hiatus/military and solo work.
First of all I hope you are ok now☺ If you want to see something funny I recommend: Things you didn't notice in EXO's The Eve Dance Practice ver and the electric kiss dance practice ver -These are the funniest things I've ever seen😂
coz Oh La La La Dance Practice is not posted in an official exo or sm channel. SMEnt posted the dance practice but deleted it within a day. but i think it's still easy to find coz many exols posted it.
