As far as I know, Aimer wrote 2 songs for UBW - Brave Shine and Last Stardust, but couldn`t decide which one will be opening. In the end, Brave Shine became opening and Last Stardust became background song for one of the most powerful moments in entire series.

For Unlimited Blade Works: First opening: "Ideal White" by Mashiro Ayano First ending: "Believe" by Kalafina. A cover version of "This Illusion" from the original visual novel was used as the ending theme for episode 12, performed by LiSA. Second opening: "Brave Shine" by Aimer Second ending: "Ring Your Bell" by Kalafina. A remix of "Ring Your Bell", titled "Ring Your Bell (in the silence)", was used as the ending theme for episode 15. The song "Last Stardust", performed by Aimer, was used as an insert song for episode 20.

The Fate franchise is a large, sprawling beast, but not nearly as complicated as people might make it out to seem. A lot of the different shows aren't directly related, simply sharing the same universe/rules/ideas. If someone gave you a watch list, stating which ones were connected, and in what order to watch them, you could quite easily get a toehold into the franchise.
@flygonkerel781
@flygonkerel781 Год назад
Oh the nasuverse is quite complicated in certain parts
@alexleonhart92
@alexleonhart92 Год назад
@@flygonkerel781 it depends only on the order you watch them. Honestly if you watch Deen F/SN you get the basic rules of the fate universe. If you don’t like the og animation (i don’t dislike it but i can understand) you just need to watch the release order (Zero -> UBW -> Heaven’s feel). I know the Nasuverse is not easy to get into but the Stay Night universe is really straight forward. An oversemplification for someone how don’t know anything about it is: Fate/Stay night is divided in 3 different route/timeline. Fate route where the main character’s love interest is the blonde girl (no names to evade spoiler); Unlimited Blade Works where the main character’s love interest is the girl in red with twintails; Heaven’s feel where the main character’s love interest is the girl with purple hair; Fate/Zero is can be seen as a prequel for Stay Night. And i remember this a BIG oversemplification of the story. But an easy one to understand i think. For the genre i think its best categories can be Action, Drama, Romance, Supernatural. And it is quite dark in general. I hope this is easy to understand (i’m not english sorry if i messed up something😅)

I would recommend starting at Unlimited Blade Works, it's the most visually appealing and makes a great job introducing stuff in the first 2 giant episodes (40min each, the rest is standard 20-25ish minutes). People say one should start at Fate/Zero since it's a prequel, but really it gets more interesting if you watch it after. If you really like it then you could watch the movies that adapt the darkest timeline. On another note there are spin-offs that can be watched regardless of any knowledge, Fate/Apocrypha is the best example, a literral war of extremely powerfull characters, with some plot thrown in.
@mordraug
@mordraug Год назад
That is exactly people not getting what Prequel means. Prequels expect one to know the previous work, they are based on a particular event from that work. And Zero is no exception. After the Visual Novel, it becomes blatantly obvious why Zero was never intended to be the first. Just people thinking "Oh, everything works chronologically (even if most Fantasy does not work like that), so that means Prequel was intended as the first!"
@murasaki3215
@murasaki3215 Год назад
If you want more from Fate and Aimer, you should check out the endings of Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's feel, there are 3 songs, all of them by Aimer By the way, probably the best way to start with Fate is Fate/Zero, then Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works and then Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's feel, and after that there are lots of spin-offs but the order doesn't matter too much. To put it simply, Fate is about mages summoning heroes from the past to fight in something called Holy grail war, and the winner receives the holy grail, a powerful artifact that can grant any wish.
@ExE7333
@ExE7333 Год назад
Nah UBW first. Zero came out after the Visual Novel and so it presumes you have already seen that for obvious reasons. As a result UBW to Heaven's feel makes the most sense.

@mordraug
@mordraug Год назад
@@ExE7333 THIS. Zero was never intended to be the first. It is just that Ufotable starting with it somehow made people think it is the first. Stay Night and its Routes were always the beginning. And after going through the VN, it is pretty obvious why.
@murasaki3215
@murasaki3215 Год назад
@@ExE7333 I think there isn't really a correct watch order, you can start with either Zero or UBW and you will be able to enjoy and understand the plot, but yeah, since Zero is a prequel I guess it makes more sense to watch it later
@mordraug
@mordraug Год назад
@@MrHerbertbauer Yes, but Zero is intended to be spoiled as it works on the premise of Greek Tragedy, so one knows beforehand how it ends and what matters is the how and why. Nor are spoilers for it as big as Zero spoils Stay Night, or rather its final, concluding route - Heaven's Feel.

If you do get into the Fate series, I recommend watching Ufotable's Fate/Stay Night (which includes Unlimited Blade Words and Heaven's Feel) before Fate/Zero. Now before people come at my neck, I will just say that Fate/Stay Night assumes you are new to the Fate series whereas Fate/Zero does not because it is a prequel. This means that while starting with Fate/Zero will give you more action right off the bat, it will also be far harder to grasp the mechanics of the world since it is assumed you've already sat through all the exposition (which covers everything from the characters to the setting to the magic system).

A Short summary about the series is that is originated from a visual novel, a novel game that have different scenario depending on your choices. The series Fate/Stay Night have a total of 3 main stream scenario, and thus the series itself have wholly 3 different story with the same cast and setting. They are Fate/Stay Night(2006), Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works(2014)(this song), and Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel(2017-2020)(3 movie trilogy). As for why fans say this series is complicated to get into, the Fate universe have expanded a lot, branching into prequel, alternate universe, parody, game-universe and others, making a whole living system with the best characters in fictional history. All in all, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works is a solid introduction to the universe and is very recommended to watch.

God, I can't listen to this song without getting teary-eyed. It's such a perfect encapsulation of the entire emotional arc of the story. Perfect lyrics, perfect instrumentals, 10/10. Also, since a few other people have mentioned it I'll add my voice to the crowd - if you're looking to react to another Fate ost, "EMIYA" is one of the most beloved soundtracks in the franchise, and is associated with a lot of epic moments in the story. Due to being used in a lot of different works in the franchise, there are many variations of it, but the one from the 2014 Unlimited Blade Works series (the same anime that "Last Stardust" is from) is a very well-produced version, so I'd recommend reacting to that one (specifically the extended version from the OST). I also saw one or two people mention "This Illusion" and I can definitely recommend reacting to that one too. It was the opening song for the original visual novel, but LiSA did a cover of it that was used in Unlimited Blade Works, and I'd recommend listening to that version.

The Holy Grail War commences. 7 servants, great famous heroes of the past, are summoned in the present by 7 masters, to fight each other for the right to claim the holy grail, a miraculous object which can grant any wish. It started as a visual novel, and there are 3 routes. The original, Stay/Night, which sees our young hero Shirou Emiya, gets dragged into this war, with his servant Saber. Next is Unlimited Blade Works, where he makes different choices, and we learn more about the world and characters than the previous route. Finally is Heaven's Feel, where we find out everything. You can start with Unlimited Blade Works and not lose much of anything. The first anime is not a very good adaptation, though I wouldn't call it bad. Just not as fantastic as Unlimited Blade Works. Heaven's Feel was adapted into 3 movies.

There is no rules and each master is given a limited amount of command seals to make servants obey orders. If the master dies, the servant can make a pact with another master or exit the war, if the servant perishes then the master can seek asylum IF the victor will allow it but masters of defeated servants can enter back into the battle is one of the remaining servants still lives. That's just the holy grail war. The story of the characters and servants is the direction the show takes it and there are a lot of peak moments.

There are people who understand Fate, and then there are people who UNDERSTAND Fate. I, unironically, present the ultimate guide to understanding where to start with the Fate series. Gigguk's video "trying to understand the fate series" is the quintessential go-to to understanding how COMPLICATED this overall franchise is.

Best way to explain fate I’ve had to use is basic premise. Magic is secret- mages from all over partake in a magic ritual and summon heroes of renown or infamy to fight to the death for the holy grail which will grant a single wish.

A little guide to the Fate universe: So, the basic synopsis for any Fate show you find is that there are a number of mages (7 usually) that summon heroes and characters from myth and human history and go into a "war" (or a battle between all 7 mages and heroes) from which the winner will earn a wish from the Holy Grail. Theres much more to it, but thats just the minimum knowledge you need yo know. I would say that the best one to start is Fate Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks or Fate Zero (which is a prequel to all of the 3 diff versions of Fate Stay Night) As for what do I mean for 3 versions of Fate Stay Night, the thing is that originally FSN was a Visual Novel (a game), and that game could developed and end in 3 different ways depending on which "route" you choosed. As of now, there are adaptations for all 3 routes in anime. The first one was done in 2006 and was very... not well recieved because of the animation and all. Unlimited Blade Works was aired in 2014 and was better recieved for being just very well directed, animated and all. The last route, Heavens Feel, its a triology of movies that haved been releasing from 2016 till 2021. And as for the rest of all the Fate shows, they all follow the guidelines I explained firstly in this bible I'm writing, but rarely are any of them connected to the rest. Some characters share faces, but thats just for the sake of branding than for storytelling. If you want to get into it, I'll tell you that nothing will make sense at first no matter what you watch first. You'll get the gist of it as you go on.

Fate has different series that are based on the same world, but with different stories, so maybe something like a multiverse. The main series is the Fate/Stay Night series, and almost all of the rest of the Fate series are not connected to this one except for Fate/Zero (prequel), and Hollow Ataraxia (sequel. But I'm pretty sure there's no anime adaptation for this one yet). As for the watch order for the Stay Night series, you need to know first that the Fate/Stay Night itself is divided into 3 different routes because the source material was a Visual Novel game with 3 different routes. These 3 routes are: - Fate route, the anime adaptation of this was the Fate/Stay Night by Studio Deen (2006). Some people skip this due to the older animation and some people say that they tried to mix this route with the other route. - Unlimited Blade Works/UBW route, you can watch the Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014) by Ufotable. People usually either watch this first or the Fate/Zero first (prequel to the whole Fate/Stay Night series). - Heaven's Feels, this 3rd route is adapted into 3 movies, Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feels I-III. People say that this is the last one out of the Fate/Stay Night series that you should watch because there are a lot of spoilers for the other ones if you watch this one first. Now for the watch order, the source material itself (the visual novel) was made for you to read the Fate/Stay Night series first before the prequel (Fate/Zero). BUT because 2 animation studios have adapted different routes and the Zero one, the watch order become a bit weird. If you want to skip the 2006 Fate/Stay Night (Fate route), people usually say that it's nice to start with Fate/Zero (the prequel to Stay Night series) because it will explain a lot of things that you will miss from the 2006 Fate/Stay Night. But, you can also start with Unlimited Blade Works, it's just that some basic explanation about the world building and some stuffs went unexplained. I personally started with this. But after watching the whole series, I think that starting with Fate/Zero would've been nice. I personally don't think the 2006 is a must watch either, but if you do decide to watch the 2006 first, then I think it's nicer to continue with UBW after that. Of course this watch order is not a must to follow. Just make sure to not start with Heaven's Feels. As for the other Fate series, some of the examples are Fate/Apocrypha, Fate/Extra, Fate/Grand Order, and Fate/Strange Fake. But only Apocrypha amongst these have been fully adapted. Grand Order is a mobile game, but some of the arcs were adapted into a series (Babylonia arc), and a movie (Solomon arc). Fate/Extra only got something like a sequel as an anime, but there are mixed opinions on this. Fate/Strange Fake just announced and posted a trailer that they will get an anime adaptation soon. It's originally a light novel.

Well, since everyone's doing a rundown of Fate I might as well. The premise of Fate Stay Night is a magical battle royale for an omnipotent wishing artifact involving 7 masters and their summoned heroes from the past. The theme is a deconstruction of heroism. Shirou Emiya suffers from survivor's, guilt. He has a fractured sense of self preservation and tends to help people at the cost of his wellbeing out of guilt. But his dream is to be a hero that can save everyone, which feeds directly into his sacrificial tendencies. FSN is comprised of three routes, three possible endings and three flavours on the answer of the above conflict. Fate route, adapted in Fate Stay Night 2006 by Deen UBW, adapted in FSN UBW by Ufotable Heaven's Feel, adapted in three movies also by Ufotable.

Fate absolutely is a must watch. Contrary to popular belief it's pretty simple. Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel, and Fate/Zero are the 3 to watch then literally whatever you want after. Posting to YT might work better since some info might be a bit confusing so commenters can clear them up. Most reactors go Zero > Unlimited Blade Works > Heaven's Feel. Zero is the prequel to Stay Night UBW is a 26 episode adaptation to the second route of the FSN visual novel HF is a 3 movie adaptation of the third route of the FSN visual novel
