Latata is such an iconic debut, not only did it get them a music show win within 20 days (which is really rare), Soyeon making it literally pushed for their debut. Their company didn't have a debut song picked for them yet, so a senior from Pentagon encouraged Soyeon to make her own song and she did! And it got chosen in a blind vote, too! Aside from being an amazing song, the story behind it is so special and amazing and it's what got Soyeon started as (G)i-dle's main producer and songwriter.

Yes (G)I-DLE is a unique group indeed. You mostly got it right, Latata's genre is Moombahton, a form of EDM that's House and Reggaeton 👍

Did you notice Minnie's "uh oh" at the start of her verse in My Bag is exactly the same as in LATATA? And then in My Bag she goes on to say "I know you like it, my voice.." I think that's such a cool callback, like she's basically saying "I know my voice has had you all captivated since my first line in our first song". And then Yuqi also goes off about how even a drum is no match for her deep voice, that song is basically just all of them flexing for 2 minutes and 40 seconds lol Not to make it more complicated, but Yuqi pronounces her name "yu-CHEE" in Chinese, but in Korean most people say OO-ki or OO-gi 🙃 Just don't pronounce the Y, and I think you're good. (Kind of the same with Yiren from Everglow, which is pronounced ee-run) Not sure if this is helpful, but Shuhua pretty much always has black hair; Miyeon usually some shade of brown (ponytail in this video). As for what's happening in the MV, the only thing I've been able to come up with is that it's a dream? 😂

Yel that's the iconic debit song by (G) I-DLE. They were dubbed rookie monsters. Not to mention Soyeon wrote the song cuz their useless company couldn't write one and were pushing their debut date. And you right no one doin like them they are different and have different sound. I agree other kpop groups have good vocals but idle have some of the unique ones rare vocals in kpop. Yuqi is either yu-chee In Chinese or Yu-gee in Korean. You would probably like her MV for "Bonnie and Clyde". or her stage performance of "Giant" (on Stage boom survival show) Those are both her solo songs she has released last year.

(LONG INFO AND COMMENT) LATATA is indeed their debut song, and SOYEON was annoyed with CUBE (their company) since they have no debut song for them, thus delaying their debut. They were supposed to debut around April 2018, but moved to May 02, 2018. So Soyeon created this song and presented this to the company's bosses. They agreed and gave them a go to go with the song. SOYEON was sooo excited to show off their group and members, (one reason why she's annoyed with the delay). During the intro scene, SOOJIN came in with the fox mask, handed into SY, and SY just threw it away. This is actually connected to SY's solo debut songs "JELLY" and "IDLE SONG". There, she introduced her "FOX FRIEND" which is a girl wearing a fox mask, no lyrics, but always dancing and included in the background, who is obviously SOOJIN (can't show her before since she was a trainee). LATATA's intro is the announcement who was that fox friend, and throwing the mask was saying they're not hiding her anymore. May not be seen here, but the intro choreo have SY's hands shaped like fox (like a bird hand shadow position) covering her face, and throwing them away. (you can see it on their choreo vid). They got too little budget for this debut, that they literally shoot in the backstreets and alleyways of hawkers (Singapore's local fast food). They have garbage bins, rusty metal boxes, crates, etc. for their solo shoot. They also got photos taken along empty street food tables, ledges, stairs, etc. SY was into Latin music and shows. She watched one gag show where the actor said "LATA LATA LATA", and to her it sounded like magic spell. So, SY created this song with LATATA as the spell of love. Thus the meaning of the lyrics and the hypnotizing MINNIE part. The English version is more "suggestive". (they have japanese version as well, since they release a Japanese mini album) The MV itself kinda does not have full connection to the song. Instead it is stating a weird, goofy, and playful imagery just like a kid. Which is connected to their name "sound". i-DLE sounds like "AIDEUL" means children in Korea. The "game" section was them playing the game, they are holding SWITCH. The golf scene of MIYEON and SHUHUA took around an hour to shoot. And they literally put golf balls in their mouth. The bowling ball scene got MINNIE actually shocked. MINNIE wanted to ride the pink horse, so she did. (it was rented and the staffs were afraid it would be damaged) YUQI's 2nd verse got some glowing balloons in the trashbins behind her. Inside were actually Hello Kitty images but wasn't seen due to lighting. Btw, YUQI is pronounced "OOGI" in korean, or "YOU-CHI" in chinese.

Yuqi's name is pronounced two ways, the chinese and the korean pronunciation. Korean - oo-gee) (gee as is geese). Chinese - you-chi. You can use either one, alot of people switch between both!
