Hi guys!!! I wanted to give you an update! Gabi has watched the video and has purchased 2 of the NiteAngel bigger world enclosures for each of her hamsters! They've taken notes to help improve their care so their hamsters can thrive and that is so exciting to hear! 🥰❤️
The sad thing is Gabi for sure has the money and the resources to give her animals a paradise yet she doesn’t . She claims to be ‘cottagecore’ or whatever but refuses proper advice with the animals she has .
she’s under zero obligation to listen to any of you actually. she’s not breaking any animal abuse laws. seems to me she’s doing what she should be doing, minding her buisness and living her life.
@@trinkaaaaaaa7561 Just because there are no laws in place since these animals are small and people are inconsiderate to their well being, doesn’t mean that this improper care doesn’t qualify as animal abuse. She doesn’t even meet the bare minimum of keeping her animals happy and healthy and yes OBVIOUSLY she is under no obligation to do so but it’s sad. Just plain sad.
@@trinkaaaaaaa7561 So sorry to tell you Tricia but the standards of most human beings are dirt . If this were a dog in a crate being fed table scraps with zero toys I feel like your views would be very different - I’d rather have ‘too much time on my hands’ than none at all .
@@trinkaaaaaaa7561 in many countries this would in fact be considered animal abuse. The minimum floor space for a hamster is significantly larger in many countries and it is considered to be animal cruelty to not have proper housing.
It's so hard to find "cute hamster videos" , mostly hamsters being terrified or getting hurt and the videos usually have millions of views and likes. So heart breaking to see 💔
Rynn21 Yeah sadly. Most of these "cute pet videos" are people hurting the animals feelings or scaring the animals to get a reaction. Most "appropriate animal videos" many people find boring. I don't even look at these "cute pet videos" now
This is inexcusable. After getting backlash for her bad bunny care, she gets more animals without doing any research. She could easily invest in the most amazing habitat, but decides to let her pets suffer because of ignorance and pride.
When she first got them she said that their setup was temporary and that they were going to have a bigger enclosure 😖 there’s no way she hasn’t done research after the backlash from when she first got them.
@@AyahElleOfficial Hopefully, that's not just an excuse. But still... why didn't she get the proper enclosures before getting them? Or at least get proper cage accessories, chew toys etc. It's so sad.
She has so much money and cant afford to even get her hamster even a 40g breeder for 50$.. thats sad. He even said that she hardly even goes into the room. I get you dont need to be rude to help someone but its no excuse if you have the funds but dont even wanna properly take care of your animals ): youre so right
I am so glad I found your channel, I got a hamster in February’s and shortly after I found your channel and realized I wasn’t giving my hamster the best care. I changed up her space and gave her a 40 gallon tank, with lots of toys… more coming soon too, and just giving her the stuff she needs. But looking back at my last 2 hamsters I feel bad because although they did have a good life with lots of running around time, their cages weren’t the best- but I didn’t know. But I’m so glad I found the info I needed for me hamster!
Guys ik it off topic but I’m really excited to get my mice a 86 gallon tank!!!❤ keep up the amazing content Victoria you are changing a lot of hamsters lives❤❤❤
I am getting a hamster for Christmas if it wasn’t for you Victoria I would have got a pets at home cage with around 200sq inches but now I am making a 600 sq inch bin cage. I will try to get a bigger one soon after!
I don’t even have a hamster but I’m doing a bunch of research so hopefully one day when I have my own money so I can take the best care of them cause from past experience of siblings impulsively buying pets I definitely want the know the things I need
Hey so I am getting a hamster and I love your videos they really help. For my plastic box it is a little shorter than it should,be because I can’t get a bigger buy a bigger one will the hamster be Ok?
honestly whenever i tell my friends the hamster minimum requirements they all think i’m crazy and they don’t believe me and honestly i seriously upset at all the hamster care tv shows and others advertise like eg.i keep seeing hamsters in hamster balls for the entire series and movies and people don’t see the problem with that
This was done in such good grace I giggled allot through out bc sis you just crack me up with some of your humor ;P I LOVE the shout out to Jenna, great example of taking what other people say to heart for the better of the animals needs.
In this day and age, where information it’s literally so easy to access and find, it blows my mind that there are still people out there that don’t provide their animals with the proper care. Literally just RU-vid Hamster Care guide and tons of great videos pop up. It’s so easy to research but people are so lazy it drives me mad!
Great video! There certainly are factors involved with being able to offer your beloved pet hamster proper care…does an owner have the financial means, does the owner live somewhere that allows access to necessary cage setups/diet/vet care, and does the owner have knowledge of proper standards and safety protocols. You have politely and considerately offered the KNOWLEDGE part of hamster ownership through this video! I continue to applaud all your efforts to put a dent in the immense number of misinformed hamster owners worldwide…and let’s hope the information is accepted with kindness, and just as important, she addresses it with her followers to correct a wrong! (I am familiar with the DeMartino twins not because I follow them but from where they grew up in Pennsylvania, USA).
Reddit actually is another great place to learn more about pet care! There's probably subs for all kinds of pets and from the ones I'm in (mice and rats) I know that they can have great communities that provide amazing tips, support, info and help, both when asked and when they see care that needs improvement (almost always in a very nice and kind way). I'm not entirely sure about u/hamstercare as I just had a quick look into it (funnily enough finding someone asking if they can trust your advice on hamster care), but it seems like that too is a great community with people trying to help each other improve
Gabby has them locked in separate cages because she only just recently got them fixed and before that they were fighting so she would take turns letting one bunny out to roam the room and the other one would be in the cage and then they'd switch off so that the bunnies could free roam some but couldn't be together because they'd fight
@@VictoriaRaechel I get that, I was just giving background info on why they were in cages despite Gabi saying they are free roaming bunnies bc without the explanation it just seems like she's straight up lying abt them free roaming. I agree the cages are horrendous. Those poor animals deserve better. She only treats her dog right.
I have a question 😅😅 I saw in the beginning you put in Lennon the Bunny! Do you think you would ever do a colab with them for a video ever? Also I think they could definitely do better and a 55 gallon tank where i live is only about 60 dollars so i think they could definitely do a lot better for cheaper.
Hii! used to have a 10 gallon, now I have a 50 gallon. I have 2 mice, do you think it’s the appropriate size? I know this is about hamsters, but just asking! Love you’re diego’s btw!
My friend recently got a hamster 8ve tried to tell her the cage is wayyy to small but she said I’m not a hamster expert just cause I have guinea pigs and she said she woman told her the cage was big enough when she bought it
Hi, my hamster is not running on his wheel and always sleep it is going out only for food, water and pee. I know hamsters are night animals he doesn't do anything even at night What should i do?
@@VictoriaRaechel i don't know the hamster for a long time. at the beginning he was active but not too much, and now he is always in his tunnels sleeping
yes i remember i had my bunny in a hutch and when i watched Lennon the bunny's video about proper rabbit care i decided to move my bunny up in my room. Now he has my room my hallway and my bathroom to run and explore in. And i am very thankful for Lennon the bunny because i want my bunny to live the best life
She puts on such a front with animals. Even if she doesn’t want to put in the work to set up a proper habitat for her hamsters and rabbits she can pay someone to do it for her. It’s just selfishness.
I loved the Jenna Marbles comparison. There really is no excuse for poor pet care, ESPECIALLY when it’s from an influencer who can more than well afford an upgrade or too.
The jenna bit makes me so happy. I love how responsible she is. She was actually the person that got me interested in hamsters and their proper care. Miss her
The thing that frustrates me a little is that she is more dedicated into creating an “enclosure” that she likes the look of more than one that will benefit the hamsters. Eg: pink tiny wheel …. 😖🥺🐹
I looked it up and that pink wheel is actually a good option for dwarf hamsters, which are the ones she has. It's both wooden, safe, and the proper size. But I do agree with the fact that she probably only got that wheel because she liked the look of it, and likes the "minimalistic hamster enclosure look", which is really unfortunate and cruel to the hamsters.
Ikr, there is another small RU-vid like that too, she got some colourful st Patrick’s day stickers (just for aesthetics) for her hamster cage instead of getting a bigger wheel or more bedding (her bedding in the cage was less than 1 inch), this RU-vidr then asked her viewers to stop suggesting to her to get a bigger cage (I think hers cage was too small) cause she “had no money” and her dresser was too small to accommodate a bigger cage but her next few vids were abt clothing hauls and a trip/vacation. Disgusting honestly, I can’t believe some people will get pets just because of “aesthetics” or to “get RU-vid views”, it’s pathetic and sickening really
The unfortunate situation here is that she knows its too small, a video on her vlog channel from 4 years ago called 'my hamsters mansion' the pinned comment is her thanking her audience for educating her on her incorrect care, unfortunately she decided not to take the advice it would seem :/
Oh wow Gabi really needs to research proper pet care... proper research is key to getting a healthy, long lived, thriving life for any animal! Btw this is info not hate, proper care is just common decency. I love animals and offering advice so I figured I should say this. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk 😊
i would also suggest not keeping a hamster cage in the window as it could heat up the cage/hamster too much and hamsters have a hard time regulating their body temp
2:08 Selfish is doing this! What matters to her is not what is good for the hamster, but what she likes. (example: small pink wheel) It’s very sad, but it’s because of low intelligence. A lot of people watch her videos, yet she shows bad things in it! (This is also a problem with the poor supply of pet stores!) I don’t watch videos like this because it’s annoying the complete lack of responsibility. Victoria, I am very grateful that from time to time you take up the fight against irresponsible and / or inappropriate pet care! You are setting a good example, which is important! You are always kind in the meantime! This is how we love you!
I have to agree although it is kind of mean but it's true; it seems like mindless entertainment to me. I'm very concerned for the world when our young people are finding channels like this interesting over others that are just more enriching and more full of substance. Ugh. It's very hard to take
I love niki and gabi but I don't love gabi's pet care. she makes it all cute and doesn't actually seem to do all the research. with her rabbit room too it's cute but not the best.
Thank you! I really try my best to be as kind as possible to someone especially because I know it’s hard to hear you’re doing something wrong sometimes.
@@VictoriaRaechel very true but it also hurts to see animals being in the hands of someone who doesn’t want to listen bc it could make their animals 100% more happier and satisfied.
I actually really like Gabi and I am a huge hamster lover and have one (I have taken so much of your advice to make sure mine has the best life) but when she first got the hamsters they were in the same cage 😬 several people kept telling her they couldn’t be together and she eventually separated them. I hope she sees this video and hopefully makes some positive changes. Again, I like Gabi so this isn’t bashing. We have all needed education with our hamsters at some point.
If it weren’t for Victoria I wouldn’t have given the proper care for my hamster. I applaud Victoria for continuing to educate people. Part of the problem are pet stores. I used to watch Gabi’s videos and these hamsters aren’t her first. She had a hamster when she first started youtube. It’s disappointing to see that they aren’t living their best life.
This video proves : advice doesn’t have to be given in a hateful way. Yes, some of her care wasn’t up to standard but if we hate on her the outcome won’t change. Honestly sometimes constructive criticism can come across in a rude way so I like how Victoria gave advice instead of saying what she could improve.
I went to school today and I saw someone saying they had 7 HAMSTERS HUH I was confused but worrying at the same time cause I was like how big is the cage how much bedding do you have are your seven hamsters together etc…
I watched Gabi’s video and I was hoping someone would address this. Having improper rabbit and hamster care is bad if u didn’t know any better or u couldn’t afford to upgrade. She is well off and Lennon The Bunny had already given her advice. She has a whole room for her rabbits but still keeps them in the cage. The wire bottom flooring tho 😔 When the average person has bad pet care it’s better than influencers as the influence r giving an example to others of what they should do. Great video, Victoria 😃 💕
I’m here because she saw this video and has tried to improve things for her hamsters! Thank you for giving advice and helping people to properly take care of their pets~~~
i don’t understand why people don’t research before getting a pet? it’s the MAIN thing you need to do before getting a pet.. it also makes no sense why people think because their a pet they don’t need as much? like just because their smaller than other pets like dogs doesn’t mean they do not need anything. they actually need quite a lot.
@@nikiedewael3766 i know which sucks honestly, but there are a few books i used to read about hamsyers which have all the things you need to know about. and you also have the internet like watching youtubers who share how to make your hamster live the best life. i do think there should be more books and actual info to help tho.
Im just 10 years ols and my parents wont let me get a proper cage or even a cage that is high enough for the bedding for my hamster but atleast your videos made me know the things i should do and shouldn't so hopefully ill try my best to give my hamster the best life
@@lias_channel1733 maybe show her lots of the research you have done? I did to my mum and now she says I can upgrade. If you show her that you know what your talking about and that it's crucial then she will come around to the idea
@@lias_channel1733 tell her this “mom? Hey the wild/forest is really big right!! How big is my hamster cage?!! Super small…. So a bigger cage will suite a hamster and a small one stresses them out
yes i have a friend she gave her hamsters bad hamster care so i provided her your hamster tips and care and said she has to watch your vids for more info. Thank you so much for your tips its helped me alot trough my years of owning a hamster i am going to be upgrading my hammies cage.Love you ❤️
Hamsters should live alone as they’re solitary and do best alone. Robos are not social in captivity like you may think as it’s completely different in the wild.
It truly does annoy me when big influencers get a pet and give it improper care because they have the ability to give that pet what many wish they could! Small pets aren't things you can just dispose of, they're living beings and deserve the same amount of attention and love as any other pet does. Some even require more than a dog or cat! Finding research is incredibly easy nowadays and you can learn so much in just a couple of days honestly. I really do hope they learn and fix their mistakes :( She did improve A LOT for her bunnies but the wire-bottom enclosure is probably one of the only issues I was able to see.. I'm sure she does love her pets, it's just that she wasn't provided the proper information! And that is okay, what's not okay is trying to prevent the criticism and avoiding any help. Loved this video and I am glad you talked on this topic 💞💕
I had an associate in petco tell me today I shouldn’t get too many accessories in my enclosure because my hamster wouldn’t have any room to walk 😐😐I’m just like man if the employees don’t know, how many people have been given bad education
Thank you for making this video and talking so calmly, whilst giving advice. I feel people shutdown when people attack them and are less likely to change their care.
If I use kiln dried pine shavings, shredded white paper, and some hay would that be fine as the main bedding? (all mixed together) And are wood pellets ok for a small area of enrichment? I could also add another little box with succulent dirt if it’s safe. (the dirt and pellets would only be for enrichment but i’m not sure if I should so please anyone reply)
This may be a bit off topic- but does anyone else owns a dwarf hamster? If so, my question is- does his/her legs disappear when he/she runs on him/her wheel? Like- the little legs go so fast it's just like a piece of bread with eyes floating on a hamster wheel.
im so glad and grateful you're here on youtube to help educate ppl who dont hv the right knowledge of hamster AND other pets care, thank u so much for educating so many ppl to improve their animal's care victoria
Victoria, you’re hamster cages are SO large and enriching to your hamsters. I was going to get a hamster impulsively and was watching RU-vid but then I came across your “where to get a hamster” video and that’s how I learned about pet mills and thanks to you I got a 110 quart bin cage for my hamster and now a yr later I have a 1,040 inch Christmas tree storage box bin cage filled with enriching items and a sand bath for my 1.5 yr old male hybrid hammy that I adopted! I also run a small hamster rescue for hamsters in need.
Hi Rachel I started watching you recently and you inspired me to get a hamster. I was gonna get those bad cages from the pet store but because I watched you my hamster has a 10 inch wheel and a 600 squares inches of floor space 💕💕love you
At first when I started thinking about getting a hamster I thought like other people, small cage, small wheel, any bedding will be fine, no sand bath…. ect. But I felt responsible because it’s a soul not a toy, so I decided to do a long search about hamster care, this was three or four months ago and until this day I'm still searching. I'm not going to bring a new friend to my house and make his life miserable for my personal happiness. Thank you so much Victoria you have been a great help for me, I will try to make the best environment for my hamster when I feel that I'm ready to own one, I promise you🤍🤍🤍🤍
My mom got a hamster for me… she got a 5 gallon tank and there is a hide, food, water, a wheel, and bedding. After I did my own research I told her what my hamster really needs but she won’t listen. I am younger and I can’t drive and I personally don’t have much money and my mom won’t let me get a bigger enclosure. I told her that hamsters need much more and that the enclosure we have him in can stress him out. I don’t know what to do because she won’t listen to me. She said he’s fine, but he’s not. He’s very very sweet and he deserves better but I just don’t know what to do.
I consider this abuse. It’s neglect of having the proper care for the animals. When u get a pet u are taking responsibility to take care of that pet and u should do ur best to take care of them because u decided to take responsibility. Pets aren’t toys, I see so many fish and small animals given away for so cheap and people put a worth on them based on it when they actually require so much care and effort your not buying a toy ur taking the responsibility of caring for hopefully the rest of another being life. I don’t know why people try to down play it because they are small or cheap to get that doesn’t excuse the fact they need good care.
ugh..never heard of them but 9.5 million people have lol. influencers to me are a pain in the arse. usualy shallow vapid people who only care bout cash
There are many times when I don't understand the contents well because there are no Korean subtitles (I'm not good at English), but I get help every time I visit.👍👍👍
For God's sake that girl has the money to buy any enclosure she wants why couldn't she just go and get the niteangel. I mean at the very least for the size and then do a little bit of research....? I am saving so i can afford the niteangel bigger world; but for now I have the 450^2 " of floor space. Sad...
