As a portuguese, I am very proud of this song. The way they manage to translate with the performance the nuances of the internal struggle with her demons and how she wants to scream it away and be able to start a brighter future... Semis should not be 100% televote, jewels like this one might be left out of the final, which would be a crime.

There is always songs about depression and menta helath but this. This is different. I have been in mental struggels for years and usually dont feel these tyes of songs. Here i feel it. I belive Iolanda is going through this, it feels nearly to inimate to watch as it looks like self soothing with the lullaby quality to it. But it is an absolute masterpiece.

This is absolutely in my top 3 this year so powerful and striking. I also worry about it qualifying but I just looked it up and saudade, saudade came 6th with the televote in its semi so there is hope

So glad you liked Portugal's entry so much. With the new qualification system (100% televote), making it through confortably will always be a struggle for Portugal. Only one neighbour and a small but loyal diaspora will always hurt Portugal's chances. But the recent results show that there is an audience for the editorial line Portugal follows, and hopefully it carries us through to the final. I hope the 100% televote semi finals don't last long. It doesn't make sense to change the rules and judge songs differently within the same competition. I feel like the rule has already impacted the show negatively and will continue to do so

I think she will qualify, everyone likes Portugal, their uniqueness and authenticity. The song is gorgeous, million times better and more impactful than Teya Dora’s Ramonda. It's Fado, speaks for itself. I strongly recommend anyone that goes to Portugal to go to a Fado bar, and watch a live performance, you don't need to understand the language.

I feel hopeful about Portugal qualifying tbh, especially after last year. They had their back against the wall in many ways but still qualified and had pretty much 0 "friends" in that semi. This year semi 1 seems like it's gonna be lobsided with its quality (first half is very strong while the second half isn't quite there) and this might stick out in a good way

Didn't know it was 100% televote in the semifinals (is it a rule for this year onwards?). As a 🇵🇹 myself, I think qualifying isn't that much of a deal, as long as we see she gave her all, because bottom line after winning FdC she got the praise she deserved, and hopefully, as it was for Mimicat and Maro, she can focus 100% in music.

I didn't considered the dancers her "demons".... I actually thought it was her feelings. You can see that sometimes they are with her, laughing with her, judging her (self judging), etcetcetc. And some chaotic movements as well! And sooooo... Maybe it's the journey of life?? Where you learn to put away allll the bads and take away with you the goods, and you grow up... It's when you "scream" that stops all the experiences... Idk... That was my interpretation. I guess yours is valid as well.

It's actually "long strides, stuck at the start" it means she feels like she has moced on but in actuality she's still stuck on whatever is weighing her down. Just a small correction because this translation is too literal and some things don't even make sense in English.
