Just to clear things up, Hate You was written/with the help of Shawn Mendes. So it's not related directly to Jungkook's life. Not saying he never went through something like this. And I think that video is just saying that even when he is sad he is still loved by Army.
This song has nothing to do with army. His whole album was sequenced as a love story. Started with falling in love & then breakup & accept everything & move on
I love this song about a break up where no one is really at fault. It's so painful that it cannot be born, so maybe hate is easier to deal with than loss. But it's clear that doesn't really work either. Great reaction 💜
The song is about not being able to be with someone you love, not because they did something wrong, or you did, but simply because of circumstances. Because the other person didn't actually do anything that JK can point to as being the reason for the break-up, he's going to pretend that they did, because it hurts less than the truth.

We been asking them for a movie for a few yrs now. Sigh. They think they suck so no movie yet. But ur going to love their story. Also, something i think u don't know is that before this song and album dropped Jk spent a lot of time doing Weverse lives. I think he holds a record for the longest live on that platform of 6 hrs. JK always went live at 1am or after. He stayed on for hrs. He sang with us, watched stuff with us, ate with us, slept with us, cleaned his dishes, folded his CK underwear, etc. We knew he was having a hard time sleeping. He was only able to sleep with us. He drank a lot with us too. We thought he was depressed. And based on this song he was going through a breakup and could not talk about it. So all his actions make sense to us now. Also, some parts of this video connect to his Euphoria song. Just some images are very similar. it's an interesting coincidence u know. Here u can clearly see that he loves us the fans that he was able to love again because of us. His album is all Eng. And yes his hair is shorter in the live. JK has quite a number of ballads on “Golden” but they’re available as audio only. There are live performances on his Showcase such as “Somebody” (my favourite b-side). JK changes his voice at the beginning. For “Too Sad to Dance” and “Shotglass of Tears” I recommend the audio. Finally, for a bit of reggaeton (?) there’s a live performance on Audacy (last quarter) of “Closer to You”. These songs are definitely worth your time. JK specifically stated that “Golden” was his way of challenging himself with different genres in English and they are not personal to him. Testament to how truly gifted he is as a singer to make us think it might be so.
