It should be said that a lot of the match going support stood by him in a "we go again" kind of way. Most of the laughing was done by opposition fans which is part of the game. If he'd played like he did before that game in the pre-season following then he would probably have been fine - he made several mistakes, a few of which led to goals instead. The loan to Besiktas wasn't much better, and the Union Berlin had him on the bench for most of last season. He's at Liverpool again but not in any of their squads (no one wanted him when they offered him out). I still hope he'll make some kind of recovery but really not sure where he could go from here
