Yes Jungkook is making the biggest sacrifice. He doesnt have to go till 2028 since he is only 26 but i believe in him. He is universe's fav. He'll never be what if guy bcs he's someone who always finds a way to improve himself positively even in the worst case scenario. He still has projects he prepared to release while he's in military. His album is still charting both on western and korean charts. He's the only member who actually made his solo to reach to GP and not just stuck on army bubble. He had the most amazing solo debut despite his own fandom not giving him the same support they gave to other members. He proved everyone and the industry that he's more than just a bts member, more than just a kpop idol. But this isn"t the peak of his solo career. He has so much inside of him and we have only scratched the surface. When he comes back, he will be more stronger than ever. Hoping for him to return safetly.
Thinking how we will also be the maknae in the military a little bit comforted me. I am sure everyone will love him and protective of him knowing his humble, cute personality just like his hyungs.
How can they exempt some gamers the last few months but not BTS? They have represented their country and introduced me to their culture otherwise I would have never learned or explored this whole new part of the world. I love them and thank them. I am a 67 year old ARMY grandma. Let's all pray for them. They are gifts from God to us .
Yes, I think you highlighted a point that many Armys just gloss over in the effort to be 'fair; to all seven members or to be 'loyal' to the group. But you need to be fair to all members to do that & DT, you just did that. Armys like to say that all members are sacrificing a lot. Yes, but objectively speaking, JK has had the most impact as a solo artist in a very short time. He peaked so high and rationally, no artist will take a break at this time espeically after just one album. Especially since he had 4 more years till mandatory enlistement. Success is a very difficult thing to attain & retain and who knows what the situation will be in furture. So in my humble opinion, hes giving up a lot more than anyone else because BTS is his prirority. That needs to be acknowledged by all Army.

I agree that his enlistment is at a time when hes coming off a career (solo) high. His Golden promotion was so short too, only a month but achieved so much. Im sure that is weighing on him rn. I dont doubt he and the others will be exceptional in the military because thats who they are. Hes such a Gen Z with a pulse on whats trending. I know its going to drive him crazy wondering what ARMY thinks of his Usher MV coming out soon! I do admire him that he chose BTS over his solo career. We wont forget that Jungkook and I cant wait to see/hear what you have to offer us on your return. Side note: yes Army knew about that mole under his lip. I’m proud of them, but I also feel for them. They are on top of the world and as soon as their careers all hit these amazing highs and experiences, they have to go in and serve. But, I’m glad they’re all doing it together and doing it now was smart. Like we have all been saying, the sooner they go the sooner they come back. In that regard, I’m happy they’re all in. The wait for them all to enlist is over. Now we just countdown until 2025 and party each time they get discharged. Also, y’all better prep yourselves now for Jinverse LOL he’s gonna have Weverse to himself for FOUR MONTHS!! And we all know how chaotic he is and his sense of humor, it should be funny and I can’t wait!!
I watched it when jk went live, so i didn't fully understand what he was saying but it was sooo hard you could tell he didn't want to end the live. ARMY was so sweet flooding the comments with purple hearts and I love yous. I cried watching it.
He will never be that "What if Guy" He is way beyond your or my imagination. After yesterday, I just thought this is the right time in his life to be there. The older you get it's going to be tough, especially for the kind of person he is as a performer. I don't want him to be broke in the military!!! He still has so much to give even in serving his country. That's how I see him. Yes he is going to come back SOLID and more stories to tell. He is someone who is a visionary & he was always in point in aceing anything he ever laid his mind on. Nothing is going to stop him in any field he takes up to. Looking at JK’s face I started to cry. He has grown up with ARMY and BTS and is very attached to them. JK is exceptional like his hyungs and will fulfill his military responsibilities and be honorably discharged.

You should react to the live he did before this one. He was much more happy in that one. And he sing so many songs in that one. Actually you should check out a lot of JK's solo lives bcs his solo lives are better than the group ones. I hate that they have to go, but agree that hopefully they will find some value in the experience. For them this is a normal part of life as a Korean man, and they have not had many “normal” experiences since they started training. The backlash if they were exempted would I believe have been severe and a permanent talking point/criticism which I think they would have found difficult.

Like you said, there is so much to still watch...JK seemed so down though, it worries me. It also worried me when RM had mentioned Suga in that weverse live the other night with all 4 and he said "yeah, Suga's having a hard time"....then he stopped talking....the bright side of things is these guys are so hilariously competitive that I just know they'll sore to the top of everything in competitions and training Would be so funny if Jin is their drill instructor, lol...

These final goodbyes were extremely hard to watch. I was crying through the entire thing for both jimin and jungkook. It's so hard seeing them all leave but now they're ALL officially gone to serve their country. I hope they come back safe and take care of themselves both physically and mentally. Keep warm and stay strong bts. Army will wait and be here to welcome you back in a warm embrace. Spring day will come again. 2024 will have brand new content for us to watch and even new music.
Honestly I didn't watch anything about him or the day of enlistment I took the focus off otherwise I would be crying by now. I can't cry, I have diabetes and being emotional makes it rise, I tried to avoid the pain. I will definitely wait for him for everyone.
JK has said several times that he doesn't know who he would be without BTS and he's going to have to live the next 18 months just being Jeon Jungkook and not Jungkook of BTS. I think that it will be good for him in the long run. I just hate how unhappy and almost scared he seemed to be in this live. It honestly broke my heart and watching with you for a second time wasn't any easier to watch.

Of the approximately 25.6 million men in South Korea, I think that only a few thousand men have been exempted from the mandatory service and the policy has been in effect since the 1950s. Nearly every single Korean man that the boys know has had to serve, including their relatives. It's also a matter of honor and national pride for them. Exemptions are a bit controversial and evasion is frowned on and heavily penalized. This is way out of JK's comfort zone and unlike anything he's ever done before, so yes, he's unhappy about it. However, JK could have delayed this by another four years, but he has chosen not to. Personally, I don't think he is unhappy because of what he has to do, but because of what he has to leave behind. BTS and the life of an idol are all he has known since he was 13 years old. Literally half of his life. Now he has to do something else, be SOMEONE else, for the next 18 months and he doesn't know for sure that ARMY will still be here when he gets back. It's an intimidating and scary thing, yes, but I'm not sure about it being an unhappy thing.

At least jimin and jk will spend their military service together. This was the thing that relieved me the most. I have full faith that they will always support each other and always trust each other. I will eagerly await their return.

They choose to serve. Not just that the dickhead across the border is causing issues..as always. Every now and again we get small leaks about the missile launches that North Korea is sending it's not at any particular Target but it's a scary dangerous situation and it has been for years. And this is why South Korea has a mandatory military enlistment. And even though you serve your mandatory time you're still stuck on reserve meaning you can be called back. I've had family serve on other there.. the north is really secretive an you don't see much other than what they choose.
It's kinda heavy feeling seeing these guys go😥 not to see them for 1 yr & 8 months ahhh😭. They are on the peak of their careers gosh..I just hope that they come back safe and healthy...I'm gonna miss them all💜💜💜💜 God bless 🙏

Yeah it's South Korea's policy but you're still being forcefully separated from your family, friends, ARMY, his entire life. And personally the military goes against everything BTS stands for, i think. It seems odd to me to put guns in the hands of people that are all about love. I know they'll do well at whatever they do but they give so much, especially to South Korea.They shouldn't have to do this when there are others that get exemptions for less reason.

Actually his "tomorrow" was Today, and both he and Jimin enlisted together in the "buddy system". They will go through training and complete their 18 months military enlistment together. I feel a little bit better about that, but I do think it is horribly unfair that he had to go right now at the height of his solo career. We ARMY need to keep holding BTS up throughout the next 18 months, and wait for Jin to come out next June (2024), then J-Hope, and then the rest in 2025.
I'm sad because he wanted the special forces and couldn't, but I hope he's fine and that his big brothers Jimin and maybe Jin take care of Jungkook and they return safely 💜💜
