No music this time per your request from my last video on this topic! hehe wanted to talk about what's going on with the dress now, something I clearly predicted in my last video about this, and it's tragic.

Does not matter, Ripley said. She should Show some self restraint and say no. Just because evil says yes. It does not mean one agrees. Does she not know clothing dimensions. M Monroe 5'6" 36/22/36. K Kardashian 5'2" 35/25/42. Kim Kardashian crossed the line she consistently been trying replicate the greats and fail. Metaphorically speaking. *The glass slipper is not meant for kim Kardashian* Should have never asked to do it. Regardless of a yes, to her request. Even if the measurements matched to the T, still should have said no.

This dress was iconic. It should’ve stayed on display. People are not supposed to wear historical clothing, it wasn’t made for today what with our perfumes and deodorants. I find it ridiculous that people are trying to decide weither Ripleys or Kim should be held accountable rather than acknowledging they BOTH should be held accountable especially when you know she already had the replica made before she forced herself into the dress; even when trying it on the people at Ripley's where ignoring the ripping and popping that is even noticeable through the video audio, she even kept saying should she put on more shapewear to fit in it...... SO BOTH RIPLEY AND KIM KNEW WITHOUT A DOUBT IT STILL COULDN'T FIT HER BUT KEPT GOING EVEN THOUGH SHE ALREADY HAD A REPLICA. Also not only is this historic because Marilyn wore it, but she wore it to sing happy birthday to JFK of all presidents meaning the last people in direct contact with that dress were literally Marilyn Monroe and JFK so why couldn't this be respected as the historic item it is and even if people want to pretend it wasn't an important piece of history.... Why can't people at the very least respect Marilyn's wishes that NO ONE be able to wear SPECIFICALLY THAT DRESS?!?!?!?!

It's amazing how Marilyn doesn't even seem to belong to herself, and can't be left to rest in peace. One of the reasons Marilyn Monroe is so prolific and iconic in our modern day media- even when she arguably wouldn't have been so popular in her day, is because of how her estate was handled after her death and even who owns her intellectual properties- Authentic Brands Group, and the Strasberg's capitalized on Marilyn, and a lot of us knew who Marilyn was even before we were exposed to her films because of these media companies. It's so disrespectful that a dress that Marilyn wanted only herself to wear- a dress that she herself was sewn into- has been tainted and devalued. Even the fact that a lock of Marilyn's hair was given as a gift is a disrespect to Marilyn's bodily autonomy. This is a big wtf. Kim basically destroyed a piece of history, but I suppose her narcissism probably told her that her wearing the dress would make it more valuable- and probably persuaded the archivists of the same- but all of us live in the real world, and in reality, the moment Kim put on that dress, it was devalued and destroyed.

The anger in me because of this dumb broad wearing and breaking such an amazing piece of history. I've started my opinion so many times on so many channels. My heart is fucking broken. People still refuse to respect Marilyn even after she passed. Everyone didn't want her wearing it. I can't believe she did this still. I cried because I'm a big Marilyn lover and to see this upset me highly. She is so selfish and inconsiderate. She claims she adores Marilyn, but yet doesn't know Marilyn wanted a dress for her AND ONLY HER. the color of the dress matched Marilyn's skin tone perfectly and the gorgeous stones were placed accordingly to Marilyns body. This is on Kim. She knew she couldn't fit it and she did it anyway, not caring if it broke. She doesn't care about Marilyn. She wanted to just have attention like she always does. I cannot keep saying this over and over to be completely honest. It just re-breaks my heart every single time.

I don't care about american politics tbh but it's the fact that a historical piece, that was then REPLICATED, had to be damaged just so that Kim could keep relevancy or something. idek the reason why this was done? The classy way to have done something like this & pay homage to this Icon, was how Rihanna did in 2014 to the CFDA fashion awards. Her look was INSPIRED (imo) by this iconic look, but she made it modern, unique, and her own. But it was a sheer, Swarovski crystal studded number and she wore a fur stole, very similar to Marylin’s look. And Rihanna’s look was iconic in and of itself. AND she didn’t destroy a historic piece of fashion art and disrespect the memory of an important historical figure!!!!! In a world full of Kardashians…. Be a Rihanna, classy, Queen.

I never liked that idea since the beginning upon hearing that the dress is THE dress itself, and I don't like the idea now neither. I hate how Marilyn is disrespected ever since she was young till an adult, disrespectedly pushed into stardom, disrespected by the peers around her, disrespected by her partners, disrespected by robbing her of her life (I consider what happened that day to be murder) ,and now disrespected after death! Like GIVE THIS LOVELY ANGEL A REST PLEASE. I hate it when I hear people say "it's good that Kim did this though cus now people talk about this dress! " The dress is a statement and has the title of the most expensive dress ever to date in auction to be sold, I think in terms of reputation, it's doing real fine on it's own. If the youngsters nowadays doesn't know the dress prior, then that's on them for sleeping thru their history lessons then.

She could afford a replica, its INASANE that she was allowed to even BREATHE near this piece of history let alone destroy it. God i dislike the Kardashians so much. And the museum clearly cannot be trusted, disgraceful. Zero respect for historical pieces, make my heart break.

As someone who has worn a number of heavily beaded outfits, I don't know where you are getting that she would have heard them fall off. That's simply not true. If you're lucky you will hear them... IF you're LUCKY.... but you would have to be in an area with a hard floor and not much noise. However, from experience I know wearing a fancy dress even once can really damage it quite a bit and partially with beading. Some beads will cut right through the thread they are sewn with. I've had to go and resew all the beadings and adornment on dresses before so I could wear them again. Now I would think Kim might should have been aware of how much damage could be done to a dress like that from wearing it as she is someone who wears them very often. Modern dresses often fall apart when worn, when it's that old it's very likely going to be worse.

We all as a consensus didn't think her wearing that dress would end well. It didn't. And what's disturbing and disheartening is that she had a replica that she fit into better, that she could have wore and said I'm wearing this replica in honor or dedication of Marilyn Monroe. But instead, what does she do. She, with the help of Ripley, destroyed for the most part an iconic historical dress and for what, for publicity. Not only does both parties need to pay to fix this dress, if it can be fixed (hope and pray it can), this dress instead of being the dress Marilyn Monroe wore will be known as the dress that Kim K broke (which if you are not proportional for said dress anyways and have to risk your health to fit into it, it isn't worth it no matter how much money you have). Historical fashion should just be that, historical fashion. The only people that should even remotely have permission should be people who care about the history of a piece and respect it. And, no matter what, if a person who expressed before they died they didn't want anyone else to wear a certain piece of clothing, YOU SHOULD RESPECT THAT NO MATTER HOW LARGE OF A FAN YOU ARE OF SAID PERSON. And a person's hair is their hair, if they gave permission before they died to give someone a lock that's one thing, but to give some a lock of a dead person hair because you can, again no respect for said person. Anybody that's no longer with us, such as Marilyn Monroe or even your average Joe, should be respected both in life and in death regardless. Let the woman rest in peace y'all!!!
@RiisingSunn

Yeah exactly… she was never respected in life and now even in death… To kim, their only comparisons were that they were both “sex symbols” . It’s sad now knowing Marilyn didn’t even want to be a sex symbol .

Are we also going to talk about the person who literally used for nudes to make a profit she explicitly said she did not want him to continue to be part of her life and he literally intentionally went out of his way to make sure his body would be facing towards her looking down on her for his burial plans that's some next level messed up...

I agree with you on everything BUT I hiiiighly doubt that KK would have been able to hear a tiny rhinestone fall on a red carpet with thousands of people around her making noise and yelling at her for photos. The Ripley’s people, however, should have seen them if they fell and gathered them to repair the dress after the fact. But they clearly didn’t care at all.

Besides the lack of respect for Marilyn Monroe and the designer wearing this dress makes me cringe as a professional seamstress and someone who loves and studied historical garments. Even something brand new that is hand made will show stress at the seams if someone is trying to squeeze into it that is not the right size for the dress. I’ve spent my whole life sewing and construction garments and seeing Kim wear this dress was horrific. The moment it was even touched to be put on I’m sure there was damage done. Fabric especially the fabric that this dress is made very fragile when it has age. Seeing the after picture is just terrible. I would be so upset if I were one the seamstress that worked on that dress and saw someone wearing it that it was not meant for and seeing them damage it for absolutely no reason. It’s so disrespectful it baffles me. No other historical objects would get treated like that. Nothing that’s in a museum should be out and about exposed to the elements because that’s going to cause damage. This was just an all around bad decision on everyone’s part

And all this damage caused to a historical dress that should've been left untouched for obvious reasons including the fact that it's deceased owner WANTED IT UNTOUCHED AND WE SHOULD RESPECT THE FEELINGS AND WISHES OF THE DEAD, and that didn't even come CLOSE to following the theme of this year's gala.

Kim Kardashian is a beautiful woman but she didn’t even pull the dress off … it wouldn’t be worth it no matter what but if she had even styled it a tenth of how iconic it was on marilyn there could at least be an argument for that but no. It just looked like a dress on a woman.

I'm not surprised is the Rhinestones also fell off because the staff members which Ripleys employed was also touching the dress. Things shouldn't be carelessly handled, much less go against the deceased wish AND be forced over a form for which it was not constructed for. I'm glad an official governing body actually made an announcement about their thoughts on the treatment on historic pieces, because this type of incident can set a precedent of rich people gaining access to important items and something must be said to encourage society to separate official museum curators from side show displays like Ripleys.
