Fun fact: In an unused dialogue, Mohg was originally counting down from 6 instead of 3, meaning he was saying: "Sex Quinque Quatuor Tres Duo Unnus And then Nihil. We were THIS close... THIS close from having Mohg Randomly shout "SEX" in the middle of the fight.
Also, a fun fact I learned when watching a game composer, Davi Vasc, as he listened to it for the first time. The composers for the track use a chord that’s often known as “The disturbing chord” or better known way back when as “Diabolus in Musica” or devil in music; the reason being is that the Catholic Church felt so disturbed by the note, it was forbidden to be played during serves. And it can be heard way more in the 2nd phase than the first. And interestingly enough, Mohg shares inspiration with a demon; of course, and the attire that matched old Cleric priest garments. Quite an odd number of references.🤔
@@TheDataByteChannel yeah Zullie the Witch found out that his AI named “Greater Demon”, and there are other mob's AI named as demon too. Which suggested that he might be a normal demon mob enemy at the early phase of game development.

@@Wraff The idea seems to be that, while the Omen Brothers have very different worldviews and objectives (Morgoth wants only to keep the status quo, the established order, even though the status quo despises him, whereas Mohg partakes on eldrich powers beyond the Edrtree, and wants to usurp the established order with one of his own), they both realize what danger the Frenzy Flame is, and as such Mohg left an astral projection of his to guard the access point to the catacomb that houses the Three Fingers (much like Morgoth astral projects himself out of Lyndelll), while Morgoth sealed the path leading to the Catacomb. A mighty double defence, considering they are two of the strongest Demi Gods. The Twin Omen Brothers, united on one matter only. Keeping the Frenzy Flame locked away for ever and more.
It didn't used to be a magic barrier like that. I tried going there early in NG+ and the altar just wouldn't lower. I'm sure they changed it since it could be confusing and be missed by newer players.
@@manjiimortal That is 100% my theory. They are in no way allied, but both have a separate interest in making sure the frenzied flame is locked up and kept secure.
@@Wraff The Frenzied Flame will just scorch the world until nothing is left, far different from the outcomes the Omen Twins pursue (even Mohg, vile as he is, is no Dung Eater or Frenzy Flame, as he wants a world left for him to rule alongside Miquella).

16:47 More like a cocoon really. If Malenia is obviously supposed to be a flower than Miquella is supposed to be a caterpillar. After all, Caterpillars can spend most of their existence in this juvenile form and only live for about a day or two when hatching from their cocoon, just like how Miquella was cursed to be stuck in the form of a child since birth, perhaps this cocoon would have worked and cured him of that curse but since Mohg interrupted the process by kidnapping him, I guess we'll never know.
I unironically love the Mohg fight. Miquella was basically undergoing metamorphosis when he was plucked by Mohg. Miquella was considered brilliant and would win over the hearts of many, but he would attempt ascending to godhood to support his twin sister, plagued by her curse of rot, slowly destroying her, and halt it with his creation of unalloyed gold. I believe in phase 2, Mohg ascends from his shackles of the Golden Order status. It's not clarified what he sought of Miquella for, but Mohg embraced his cursed blood unlike Morgott, and brought himself closer to this formless mother deity that curses his blood. I like to think to the bare minimum, himself and Morgott disagree with the Three Fingers as they seem to guard their path and hide it. I also figure perhaps Mohg used Miquella for his own ascension believing it as a mutual act as becoming outer god equivalents to impact the lands. Mohg however living underground and making little appearances than his mention by his followers would be of great mystery to even the All-knowing as he didn't simply live out of sight, but as an Omen he lived out of mind to the entire capital.
To be Elden Lord you need to be consort of an Empyrean inhabited by Outer God. Mohg found/was found by Formless Mother, but he could not just jumpstart his own era without being Empyrean/having Empyrean of his own. So he chose one, and is trying to imbue Miquella his own cursed blood so he transforms into she; Mohgwyn, god of his new dynasty. So it goes: Mohg Era: Outer God Patron: Formless Mother. God: Mohgwyn (formerly Miquella). Elden Lord: Mohg.
Dude your videos are fucking great! I consume a LOT of elden ring content... mostly being seeing what other builds there are in the world, or troll clips... but the way you get excited about things is exactly how I felt, and it's really nice to see that
Mogh drives nuts as a player using melee like yourself with no summons. His range is like what feels like the whole arena. 100% agree with his wind ups. I think you said it, you could literally drink a cup of tea waiting for his attacks. And when you are close to him he's super aggressive to get you to back off but then he punishes you for backing off too lol
Tbh Mohg is definitely the hardest boss if we exclude the endgame trio and Malenia. Funnily enough, I even died more to Mohg than I did to Maliketh. But then again, it took me like 10 tries to realise I actually have shackless that bind Mohg

Mohg is the monster I love to hate most in this game, not varre the asshole, not the shitty elden beast, or any of the million of fuck brained revenants; mohg is the rare kind of demon that is Entirely evil, so bent and twisted by spite and hate to become nothing but a craven monster; and yet with all we know of him I don’t think we actually know enough; why is there a “copy” in the forsaken depths, what is his plan with Miquella?, and after listening to translated lyrics of his music, it mentions “Miquella grant me this my DYING WISH???” What is he dying from what is his wish and plan??? Was this “copy” made by him to stand guard over the three fingers almost like a puppet much like sellen and morgott? Or did another character say morgott create this out of lonliness? His “copy” collapses into golden magic much like morgott “clones” ?!?! Is this someone’s attempt to control mohg? How much control does the formless mother exert over him? And we see him SPROUT WINGS!?!? Is the formless mother related to the crucible??? I NEED to know MOAR so much unfinished lore FUCK JUST INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS
Well the copy in the sewers can be easily explained. Mohg and Margit/Morgott are twin brothers. So it makes sense that they'd both have some similar abilities. We can even see it in Morgott's phase two when he starts leaving slashes in the air that explode into bloodflame, similar to Mohg's clawing attack.
Well okay a week later but Mohg isn't driven exactly by hate and spite. He's an Omen who found his own goddess and wants to become Elden Lord of his own order, for which he needs to transform Miquella so he can have a child with him to have their child be in Marika's place for his Cursed Blood Goddess.

@@knavenformed9436 What we can see in the cocoon is still male when camera mods are used. So either it's not complete or Mohg has a different idea. Then again, Mohg is also a raving lunatic, so we don't know for sure if that's what he intends.
My first victory in this fight was with my Mimic because I too was sick of this prick. Second was solo but it was really bloody hard, no pun intended, and I totally agree that the bloodflame fucking EVERYWHERE makes it a nightmare to position. Oke, this is not a spoiler but if you use the Mimic Tear can I suggest going after Shabriri's Woe. That Talisman is just made for a Mimic. It reads : "constantly attracts Enemies' aggression" So you put on the talisman, cast your Mimic and quickly and with blind panic take of Shabriri's Woe again and your Mimic will become a true tank constantly getting the aggro of the boss and forcing it to attack said big bad boss. :)
@@bengunn9670 crystal tear for flask that cures the mohg curse when drank. she actually entered lyendell way early through deeproot depths and then explored altus after mt gelmir and basically half of volcano manor XD so she got the tear while exploring altus after going back to limgrave/liurnia to try and finish yura's quest (the tear is a drop from an invasion in his quest in altus). this was way before she explored the sewers and fought sewer mohg, and then lots more exploring the mountaintops later she finally went to moghywn while having had the key item the whole 100 hours of her playthrough lol
Every time I see a reaction to this boss I'm reminded of how intense it is. I will NEVER forget my winning attempt where after like 110 tries and having the second phase almost perfectly known down to a dance I poise broke him with cold GodskinPeeler light attacks only and crit him as final hit. I don't remember if I got hit even once on that second phase. Mohg is one of my favorite bosses in the game. Obligatory [No summons BTW] aside, I used the tear :') the nihil was too much bullshit for me. LOVED the vid! 😭✨
Mohg is who I farm for my runes. With the right increases you can get about 450k+ runes each fight or as low as 160k depending on what ng+ or 1st playthrough.

Watching your fight gave me a chance to appreciate the sheer awesomeness of it: the arena, his moveset, the music! and full impact of NIHIL! Mohg is an asshole but he is certainly a demigod level asshole. And I so freaking loved your reasoning about what the hell Miquella's doing here. Right in the middle of the fight..

😂this is hilarious, granted I’m very late to this party however, I took so long to get to this boss that I had already acquired the Purifying Crystal Tear before fighting him and learned quickly to use it. ✌🏼
I definitely don't think using any of the game mechanics designed to be in the game is cheating, I just tend to scrutinize mechanics that trivialize a particular boss fight, or all but a couple boss fights, like ashes. The shackle can only be used twice, it needs to be found beforehand, it only works on a specific boss and only affords you a couple of seconds, so I'd say it's fairly balanced.

As sick as I am with bleed at this point, Mohg is pretty weak to bleed despite being the Lord of Blood. I haven't had much trouble with him because I figured this out with the Winged Scythe the first time I killed him, which outperformed the other weapons I was using by a considerable amount due to the bleed procs. I think I took him out with Great Stars with another character. I don't doubt he's very difficult with other damage types.
Honestly one of, if not the most aesthetic bosses in the game. Even though he is the cause of a lot of the issues between the shard bearers in the game

Come on show a lil more respect to the man, he's just an old fashioned villain, went through rough childhood in the sewers even though he had royal blood and then said "fuck all of you ima do my own shit and kidnap the brother of the most fearsome woman in the lands between, gain his trust and make him join me after I transform him a good 30 times" he's cool as fuck, his theme is one of the best the game has to offer, fighting him is cool as fuck and he also gives you 655k runes if you equip the golden scarab talisman and use a golden foot exactly after you beat him. What a lad (his attacks are bullshit but eventually fun to dodge again and again while you tell him how bad he is at hitting you :)

the people who say this is cheating and that is cheating are so annoying... thats like saying using torrent is cheating cause it makes you go faster around the map, or leveling up your weapons is cheating cause it makes you do more damage, how is it considered cheating when its intentionally put in the game for you to use😭😭
