It’s the only prediction I got right. My others were terrible. But hearing of their financial difficulties last summer and how they made absolute zero investment over the summer until a late move for Faes I thought they were a dark horse to get relegated. Plus Danny Ward has always been atrocious and it was stunning that he was Schmeichel’s replacement.

To be fair, with a World Cup sandwiched between the season, predicting where each team would finish was always going to be harder than usual. Plus no one would have predicted Liverpool's, Chelsea's or Leicester's collapses

@@tsjawesome6289 Impressive. Always a lot of luck in predictions. Not easy. Villa,Bournemouth would've been lower if they kept their managers. Leicester was maybe indicated in the transfers but such a drop of was a surprise. Same with West ham except they did spend.I believe its very hard to make a prediction based on a manager being sacked as its hard to predict a replacement.
To be fair, Chelsea finishing 12th is something no one could’ve predicted meaning everyone’s predictions below around 7th are gonna be skewed because of it
Amazing job for Brighton and Hove Albion getting to the UEFA Europa League next season. Curious to see how they will handle their first ever European Campaign. Also strong showings by Fulham and Brentford. Hopefully they can continue to grow and maybe challenge for Europe in the near future.

@@nathanwhitehouse8237 I didn't fair brilliantly but I got one or two that the pro-pundits and toobers missed. I thought the Spuds would be back to normal this year and drop out of the European spots and I knew that the absolute worst that Newcastle would finish would be 7th with a chance of 5th or 4th at absolute best. I got my Arsenal prediction half right, I was certain we'd get top 4 with 3rd being our best finish, I did not expect it to be us that challenged City, in fact I didn't think anyone would challenge City because I knew Liverpool would implode going straight from a season where they had to play full tilt in every single match they could possibly play into a season with a WC squeezed in, not doable for the Merseyside Home for Aging Football Pensioners.
For Brentford or Fulham to obtain a European Spot. UEFA need to give more Champions League places to England. Especially when 7 is not enough these days.
@@MrSmith1984 Also other big leagues have even less. Bundesliga has 6 European spots ,Serie A,La liga has 7 ,ligue 1 only has 5 and only 2 are champions league spots. 5th is just a spot in the qualifier.Premier league has just the right amount. Otherwise you would have to increase other leagues aswell

Honestly, these predictions were largely really good. You should score these based on how many places you were off each spot across the table rather than the total amount of completely correct predictions you get.
It's the format that's messed up, he should be giving location in the table RANGES not direct placement His club predictions otherwise are spot on mostly which is something few will acknowledge
i think irish guy should do a golf style point system for these predictions to make his predictions look a bit better. start at 0 and add on the difference in league positions.
Yeah, he's too hard on himself. his championship prediction this season is actually wild, perhaps top 3 best prediction, counting the msnager's sacking and replacements.

Irish has done not too bad, only 1 right in a harsh reflection.Hilarious that it's Leeds aswell.
Irish Guy straight up doesn’t know what a winning goal is. It’s the goal that establishes a win regardless of margin. If you score to go up 1-0 and end up winning 2-0, you’ve scored the winning goal.
Not really in a match where the opposition get a goose egg the last goal from your club is the winning goal, otherwise you're saying that the other goals couldn't have happened without the initial one which is bollocks
I think you should adopt a format similar to spencer fc where his point are based off how many places the prediction was wrong by. The lower the points the better so then that way Irish guys predictions even though one point or one spot off are still better than predicting a team to go down and they end up getting European football
Great video! You gave yourself a really hard time for your final score but a lot of your guesses were uncannily close! Have you considered scoring based on distance between predicted and actual positions? For example, you wouldn't get any points for Brighton/Leicester but you'd get some points for Everton, a few more for Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, and even more for Leeds. Just a thought :)
If it makes you feel any better. Before covid I ran a game at work based on this. Predict the table at the end of the season before the opening games and only get a point for a correct position. The winner got 4. This is not an easy league to predict. Most people got 2. Even then they only got those points based how they put City and Liverpool.
“ this morning could have started with me eating a bowl of coco pops while desperately trying to make sure that a hungry billy goat doesn’t bite off my nob” 😂😂😂
I think you should revise your rankings system. Try to adopt this system: Winners of the league (1st): If you correctly predict the team that wins the league, award 5 points. Top 4 (1-4): If you predict a team to finish within the top 4 and they finish anywhere within top 4, award 2-3 points. Europe (1-7): If you predict a team to finish within the top 7, award 2-3 points if they finish in any European spot. Top half of the league (1-10): If you predict a team to finish within the top 10, award 1-2 points. Bottom half (11-14): If you predict a team to finish within the bottom half (11th to 14th place), award 2-3 points. Safety (15-17): If you predict a team to finish within the safety zone (15th to 17th place), award 2-3 points. Relegation (18-20): If you correctly predict a team that gets relegated (18th to 20th place), award 2-3 points. In this system, you will earn 2-3 points for each correct prediction within the specified category, regardless of the exact position. If you get the exact position get 5 points. The total should be a modest 75 (I know it should be out of 100 but given the unlikely nature of you predicting them all right it should be 75) Round up all the score and See your score at the end.
Technically Scamacca had 2 winning goals, the 1st in a 2-0 meaning his goal was enough to win the game, and the 2nd in a 3-1 win meaning his goal, again, was enough to win
Even though he got only 1 right, some of his predictions he made still came true like the Arsenal getting champions league football and also the rise of Newcastle
He did really well tbf. Even that City prediction wasn't that bad considering Arsenal bottled the title. The only ones that could be better were Leicester, Southampton and Liverpool.
You should start attaching a points system to these videos, where you get an amount of points equal to how many positions off you were, and try to get as few points as possible.
Wait, is the idea of a winning goal different in the UK? In hockey I'm pretty sure it's the goal that you need to win--so in a 3-1 victory the winning goal is the 2nd. Ina 6-4 win, it would be the 5th goal. And so a 2-0 victory would be the 1st goal is the winning goal.
Ever since Irish Guy moved to his own channel his predictions have been better, not amazing but an improvement. Yes, there were howlers like Brighton Brentford and Liverpool, but everywhere had some. And you did well with leeds, correctly predicted the type of season arsenal, tottenham, newcastle had, close with palace qnd was right about potter having the tactical intelligence of a mashed potato. Well done Irish guy!
Two most enjoyable things from this season have been watching Goldbridge breaking down off-screen after the 7th goal in the 7-0 and watching Irish Guy similarly breaking down off-screen here!
To think you set Brighton closer to relegation than fighting for any European cup and there's where they ended up in I'm not a Brighton supporter, but I'm happy for Buonanotte and more for Mac Allister
12:26 there's such a good irony in the fact that Scamacca, who is one of Italy's back-up strikers, being prevented of scoring a winning goal because the other team had Willy Gnonto, one of Italy's *starting* strikers, scoring as well. Felt like it just proved why Gnonto is the starter and Scamacca is his backup
I never understood the Brighton hate that people would give them. They were always under performing on xG and all they needed were players who could convert chances, they were always going to fly up the league given time
I'd like to think irish guy's prediction now is like an oven with 300°C and 30 minutes setting Depends on what subject he's cookin, it will either be a michelin-star-esque (i.e. arsenal bottled the title) or an input for apocalypse bingo (i.e. brighton relegated)
I love how the Irish Guy only got ONE team right. Reminded me of that time he made a Championship prediction where he got who was going to be 1st AND NOTHING ELSE
We've made a habit of being the exception to the rule over the years- first Championship side to top the league at Christmas and not get promoted, first Championship team to go into the second leg of the playoffs at home with a lead from the first leg and not progress to the final etc- so it's about right that Irish Guy's one correct prediction out of 20 was for us to go down 🙃
I feel like many predictions getting wrong could be attributed to the fact that, obviously, one can't predict *in August* that a team would sack their coach. Like, sure, Irish Guy predicted that Brighton would go down because of Potter... but how could he have known that Brighton would replace him by *September* ?
Honestly pretty good predictions. Predicting survival for all three Championship teams is something no one else did. Got Leeds right, predicted Tottenham's failure, Arsenal and Newcastle's success, was one off for Manchester Utd and Crystal Palace... Can't say I'd be too disappointed if these were my predictions. Brighton, Brentford and Leicester's predictions aside, those were awful.
I only got two right in my predictions, Leeds 19th and Man City champions. I also said Fulham would be relegated along with Leeds and Bournemouth, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man U would be in the champions league. IRC Spurs fifth, Newcastle sixth and Spurs seventh. Villa eighth and from there it becomes a blur. My other prediction that came correct was my beloved IPSWICH TOWN getting promoted from League One, long overdue.
