Whitney just has a quality - the way she begins this song - she really makes me wonder "Why does it hurt so bad?" - she makes me feel every way she intends to - a very rare quality IMO

Yasssss. I’m glad it’s finally unblocked. And yes you *must* include Whitney when talking about live singing. And this was when they said her voice was gone. She is the undisputed queen of voice. Yes it was a Babyface song from the Waiting To Exhale soundtrack. Babyface wanted Whitney to sing the entire soundtrack but Whitney wanted to include other ladies like Toni, Mary J, Aretha, TLC, Chante’ Moore, Faith Evans…etc.

Whitney was very generous when it came to uplifting other artist, I mean look at how many other ladies she recorded and/or performed with: Aretha Franklin, her mother Cissy Houston, CeCe Winans, Deborah Cox, Faith Evans, Kelly Price, Mariah Carey…and performed with Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick…Whitney also encouraged a whole lot of artist like Destiny’s Child, Monica and Brandy…I mean after all she influenced almost everyone I listed (not Aretha, Dionne, Natalie or her mother).
well Lex, I have to admit that this is a pretty song , and Beyonce does justice to it, with the inflections, vibrato, subtle transitions, as well as emotive ability, among other attributes such as her impressive range and outstanding tone. However, I have to make the point that without comparing her to the "Voice', Whitney's voice does it all - she does not need back ground vocals or dancing girls to hold an audience. As you know her tone, range, emotive ability and above all, her control is not only legendary, but unmatched!! Not to mention her head voice and riffs which are unmatched as well. Yes, yes & yes. The snafu w/this video might of been a nightmare but your choices were ahhhhmazing. Whitney & I have spent many a night w/Henney trying to understand "Why Does It Hurt So Bad." She w/those incomparable riffs, which nobody can execute, to this day. Me, doing the ugly cry. Thank you for this. BTW: The word you were looking for is ""connoisseur."
In the recorded version, she says, “You make me wanna shoop, shoop. In this performance, Whitney says, make me wanna shoot you”, lol. Someone said Bobby and Whitney were arguing before this performance, so it was like she was feeling that 😂😂😂😂
