Reacting to NEW Sojourn Cinematic | Overwatch 2 

I think it's fun foreshadowing that agent Tremblay gives the croissant to Murphy despite Sojourn not wanting her to have it. Kinda like how he'll end up not arresting Sojourn even though he's supposed to. Love the shot, too, when he stands up and you just see the handcuffs at his side just out of focus in the frame, hinting at his intentions.

god i love this cinematic so much, i feel like it grounds the story of overwatch to a place that's much more relatable than most of the other cinematics and also sets up the toronto story mission really well. ill go ahead and explain some of the story bits that you may have missed! the person that comes to check in on sojourn and almost arrests her is noah tremblay, a csis (canadian security intelligence service) officer. it's actually noted in his storyboarding art that he wears a bracelet with first nations/indigenous symbols on it which i thought was cool! he is also a father of 2 daughters, which is why it's so scary to him that he could have died the previous night if sojourn didn't save his team. he's been assigned to check in on sojourn every 3 months since she's an ex-overwatch agent, hence why he says "i know it hasn't been 3 months" when he asks to come in. the petras act that he mentioned is a law put in place by the united nations which deemed any overwatch activity illegal, which is why sojourn (as well as soldier 76, ana, etc) have gone into hiding and try to put up the guise of living a normal life, and that's the reason why tremblay almost arrests her. it's also really cute that at the beginning of the cinematic she actually orders 2 coffees, hinting that she knew she was gonna get a visit from noah. other random facts i can think of: - murphy also has a cyborg back leg which is very adorable and matches with sojourn! - the guy on top of the roof across the street is named "marchand" - we've seen that purple wizard omnic that sojourn fights in the subway station and will most likely make an appearance in the pve - sojourn testified against overwatch at the petras hearings and is partially the reason why it shut down/the petras act was put into place at all, which is why she's so hesitant to accept winston's recall - it's pretty likely that sojourn doesn't realize that null sector is attacking more cities than just toronto and will hesitantly become the strike commander of overwatch again as she trains the "new blood" characters (brig, lucio, dva, zarya, cassidy, bap) sorry this is a lot but i just find all this stuff super fascinating!!

My headcanon is that because Tremblay has a busted arm, his duty now is to protect murphy until the invasion is over.

Something I thought about was agent "Tramblay" which sounds like "tremble" in french(tremblez). Maybe something for the viewers who will shake at the cinematic, his resolve which is shaken and changed or maybe for null sector. Idk maybe I'm grabbing at hairs.

even if recent events related to overwatch 2 are not very good, i always get great pleasure from these shorts

Another well done cinematic from the team at Blizzard. We have had so few in recent years, I hope we will start to see more come out as they lean more into the Null Sector invasion. Some neat touches I noticed is that she buys 2 coffees and has croissants set out because she knew Agent Trembly was going to show up. Also Murphy has cybernetic limbs, just like Sojourn does.

Not even kidding you're the third person to say they know those thighs anywhere 😭😂😂
