I'm the Vocalist for No Comment. I just wrote a super LONG message but decided to erase it explaining what the record really means. Guitar player wrote the lyrics and music. About his slow slide from depression into rage into madness and suicide. He didn't choose suicide. Life for him now is so much f****** darker than the record!. I joined man is the bastard, who had been around for a few years by then after No Comment in 94 and if you've never heard us we were very very bizarre. Curious your thoughts
@@erikaldana8575Yep it was me. I'm on yr 30. Everybody can thank the postal service for Downsided. Actually the world should be thanking the postal service for underground punk/hardcore!
@@punkfan3280 that's funny I did a song on one of the cave State releases. Pretty sure it was called Use Repeat. A few times live I guested and did a couple No Comment songs with Cave State
I'm old was working at record store remember this 7 in came in with No Comment cd and Rorschach album came in on the same day bought all three didn't even put them on the floor all classic now ever hear Negative Approach to me started this kind of hardcore tied down album
Yes! thanks for doing it man! Yeah the lyrics are more Emo than Emo but are written really good in my opinion, 'Push down and turn' is also my favorite. The last song is indeed the key to it, realizing depression comes from your mind and not from the world so you notice the "curtains of illusion". What'd you think about it musically? I think it works musically better when you listen to it without breaks, cause it has little breaks in it so it comes in like waves of rage. But I get why did it like that, and appreciate that you care about lyrics.
Musically I did enjoy it, sometimes jumping into the deep end right away is the best course of action haha. It was fast, hectic, and filled with insanity without necessarily having those 'heavy' characteristics that define it's metal counterparts. idk, I'll have to listen to more powerviolence I think, but overall very enjoyable!
Great reaction. Some other good go to bands to find out more about power violence are Man Is the Bastard, Spazz, Capitalist Casualties, Agents of Satan.... I also really enjoyed your Naked City album reaction. Would love to see you react to the album "Guts of a Virgin" from "Painkiller". I think you'd enjoy and find it really interesting. It's Jazz/Grindcore
@@JuniioMusic much thanks for taking the time to listen to our record. I posted earlier & wrote a whole long diatribe about what the record was about... But erased it
@@powerviolenceog Ah man I saw that, I was meaning to reply! Sorry man, sometimes I'm a little slow on these comment replies haha. But thank YOU for the album, really opened my eyes to a whole new sound that I had never heard before.
@@JuniioMusic I wasn't expecting a reply I just decided I wasn't comfortable talking about everything that was going on in his life. Glad you enjoyed that's all I care about is people getting to hear it
@@powerviolenceog Fair enough. Well I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I've been sharing your music with my friends haha. And thank you for the comments, they're appreciated \m/
The reason Sarcastics is titled as such is because I think he’s asking these questions rhetorically to someone in his life that has judged him, probably a parent or an authoritative figure (both of whom are known to turn peoples’ pockets inside out looking for what they’ve done wrong or what they are hiding). I think it’s trying to say “oh what, you think I’m fucked up and depressed? why don’t YOU tell me why you think that?” (Said sarcastically).
Speaking of things I like, I really like chicken. It's why I bailed on my vegetarian diet after two months. But chickens don't like me. Bastards keep hitting me with restraining orders. And their lawyer can kiss my ass. I'm gonna go Col. Sanders on that sumbitch, believe you me, daddy-o. As far as the music goes, the segments were too long for my attention span, but I'd say the guy is upset about something, I dunno, just a guess. You have an uncanny ability to wring meaning out of this chaos. Hope you have a GREAT 2020. I'm gonna finish writing my trilogy, sell the movie rights for more money than anyone's ever seen, and just LAY RIGHT BACK. I try to keep my goals realistic.
