yeah a lot of the epic lines are scripted, but there's tons of improv, technoblade used to be a english major, and he's very interested in mythology, so his quotes are amazing
Yes, it's all acting. The streams are usually not AS dramatic as the animatics all the time, but they do take the roleplay seriously and are very good actors, and the lore itself has a lot of depth
Literally after most of these there is usually sexual, dumb, or out of character joke. Like the scene where Dream defends Wilbur, after it Wilbur literally screams “YES DADDY DREAM”
@@0__o723 and after that on line in the Dawn of 16th animation when Wilbur says "this is where we take it all back. either that, or we get nothing" then just shouts the c word 😟
The DreamSMP is half roleplay and half scripted but only in plot points so they don’t derail the entire time when doing (lore) streams. Most of it’s just messing around and sometimes fumbling lines and hoping things are dramatic as they need to be. There’s going be a few “dropped arcs” if you only watch one person’s perspective but it’s so incredible how the fandom just works to make all of it work. Weird lore like Will’s fish wife/mistress included. The DreamSMP lore is not as straightforward and simple as it may seem from an outsider’s perspective. Would recommend watching the streams; my personal favorites to watch are Wilbur, Tommy, and Techno but you can watch anyone since there is like no “main character” in the traditional sense. Yeah, Tommy’s and Tubbo’s conflict with Dream is a big focus in the story of everyone’s lives but that doesn’t mean they’re the main characters so all perspectives are valid and as enjoyable. Just depends on what kind of character you’re looking to root for.
Imo Wilbur’s PoV is best for S1 then Tommy for the rest (mainly because I’ve been there since near the beginning and people keep on misinterpreting Wilbur, Vilbur is fanmade). It’s still important to see (at least) parts of Fundy, Tubbo, Quackity, etc.’s PoV because it makes it so clear how they’re morally gray. Ranboo’s PoV is super good but it’s much more detached from the main story, still worth watching though.
But like I can barely draw anything with my finger. Did she use a digital pen cause if she didn’t than I’m astonished o-o what app did she even use, I’m just amazed.
@@funtimelullaby7172 she said in Jack manifold stream that she did it on her phone, with her finger (or a little stylus I actually don’t remember ajavskbd) and she used flip-a-clip!
So, to explain: They aren't really acting, at least not in the same way paid actors would in a movie. This server began as a lighthearted game with friends, and the 'plot' was kind of accidental. The voice snipets, especially in the first animatic, weren't so much the product of acting as having a good time with friends, letting yourself get worked up - they're theater kids, after all. None of their friendships were damaged during the roleplay though. As the story progressed, it became more 'scripted'; streams were planned beforehand, but speaking lines were improvised. In those later animatics (Hog Hunt, for instance), they were actually acting, putting on a show for the audience. The story was originally all a joke, but they managed to create a compelling world while not taking it seriously, so both dedicated theorizers and casuals who wanted to laugh were able to enjoy it. It was a harmony between the two. The plot became more serious as it went on, though, and it was treated as such as the streamers became more aware of their audience. In a way, the tone of the story was inspired by the animatics as much as they were by it. You'd really have to experience it for yourself to get a good grasp of it, but that's the best explanation I can give.
Yeah, people on the SMP are all just amazing actors. They do get really into the roleplay though. If you'd like me to make you a playlist of the Dream SMP that's watchable, I can do that if you want.
You should definitely react to sunsprite’s eulogy, it’s an animatic based on a sleepy bois inc fanfic called passerine, sad-ist made the animatic and it’s really emotional
The disapointment when he reacts to ALL of SAD-ist's dsmp animatics... except my favorite one :( (It's Dawn of the 16th in case you didn't notice he missed one)
You asked for another animator and I have a request! You should really check out Late August! They're really talented and even though it can get confusing if you don't know the Dream SMP lore, the art in their animations are absolutely amazing! You could take a screenshot of it and you would be able to use it as a background. I absolutely adore Late August so I really recommend them!
I would recommend not only Late August, but also Paprikup- especially the "Devil's Deal" and "City of Stars" animatics- and Кир!!! with their animatic "The Old Days" with the dream team. They're not as well known, but they're AMAZING. "Brothers" SBI animatic by The Channel Without A Name is also a good one!
I really love that a lot of people have been reacting to the Dream SMP animatics recently. Especially with the great quotes that come out of it that could be applied to so many situations, we’ve got such a great community full of talented artists who draw fan art and animatics, write fanfiction, and even write and sing songs- I absolutely love it!
Ok, I'd say yes definitly watch the SMP. I'd recommend starting with Blueberrry TV as they take everyone's perspective and edit them down into 20-40 minute episodes it's great. If you want other animatics/animations I'd definitly reccomend Chaos by Toktopus, Seek's animations and stuff, Channel Without A Name, speciffically their Brother, Reqium, and Never Meant to be animatics. Eret (one of the guys involved in the SMP) also has a playlist of animatics on his channel if you want reccomendations from there. EDIT: I can't beleive I forgot Late-August. Their animatics are incredible and cover the entire story line until about like 3 weeks ago. I'd definitly say give them a watch.
EvanMCGaming is also really good, he skips over some of the smaller character lore but makes 50-minute documentaries on all of the main events, up to the recent Las Nevadas lore. He's really good for people who know almost nothing about the SMP but want to catch up on the plot.
Pog! 3:33 and yes, you should start watching DSmp stuff because it’s amazing and entertaining. 6:01 Yes, using a fishing rod can bring your opponent back towards you. However it is not greatly used anymore with the new style of pvp.
The thing is, whenever I watch the animations now, I just laugh, because I remember the hilarious moments that were made out to be so serious. Like, the only reason Techno wanted to protect Karl was because a channel member would stop giving him money if the horse died, so they literally made that into his reason for giving up.
I insist that, if it weren't for the fans, the SMP wouldn't be what it is today. I know so many people, myself included, came into this fandom because of people like Sad-ist, Dropster, DerivaKat, and so many more. If you want to react to more, I highly recommend Dropster's stuff. Most of their animatics have been based around Ranboo and have a sort of horror/suspense element to them.
Focus on the tiny details of the animatics & animations in order: In "Dream vs Technoblade": near the end, Dream's ax chops off techno's long braid; Techo slices the bridge of Dream's nose and mask Next in "The Fall": Techno's shown with short hair; Tubbo get injured & you see his arm in a sling in the scene before the final scene Next one is "Dawn of 16th": If you ever watch it, pay attention to the details, I won't spoil it for you Afterwards, in "Hog Hunt": Tubbo's left hand (same arm that was in the sling) is shown in the first few frames, and you see that it's scarred; Technoblade is shown with slightly longer hair; notice Philza's wings, make a connection with the previous animation (Dawn of 16th) Not sure if this is all of the connections, if it's not all, someone correct me Oh yea: Captions for Dream SMP War, The Fall, Dre SMP, Dawn of 16th, and Hog Hunt are accurate and not auto-generated by RU-vid
If you want to check out more animatics and such, I would recommend The Channel Without A Name! Their artstyle is incredible and they do a lot of cool stuff
I absolutely loved your reaction! There are also some videos that will play the scene from the animation and animatic and then show the actual clip where the audio came from! They are great!
3:35 fun fact, they were talking about Uber ratings the whole ride back and how Techno wont give Tubbo 5 stars the plot is very in-depth, but the two sides of the Dream SMP is 1. Angst, pain, and War (the actual Script) 2. Uber ratings, Church Prime, and Wilbur having a kid with a salmon (AKA bloopers/Improv)
There are so many incredible quotes that you never thought would come from a minecraft roleplay And yeah sadist is incredibly talented not only is she great at drawing but also doing this cinematic style and fitting the perfect sentences into the right spots in the right music
Love your vids! Also should react to mindless self indulgence These are some songs: -never wanted to dance -what do they know -molly Thats all i can think of right now-
If you ever watch anymore of her stuff, whether for a video or just to watch them on your own: 1. Dawn of the 16th is my favorite so definitely watch that one 2. Sunsprite's Eulogy is amazing and REALLY sad, but it's based off of a Dream SMP fanfic called Passerine, so if you want to get a full grasp of the heartbreak I'd recommend reading it (it's on ao3) 3. Dre SMP and the bloopers video are both really funny and based off of non-canon events if you want to check those out
Ahhhhh I’ve been watching Matthew for at least a year and it’s so cool to see him react to these things with his positive attitude! I’d love to see him react to sadists blooper video as well lmao
Will just amazes me every. single. time. He is so amazing because: -He is a fantastic musician -He is a phenomenal actor -He seems like one of the few genuine people online these days, and for what I’ve seen so far, he has a great personality. Now, of course I don’t know him in real life, but I really like to believe that he’s a good person, like a genuine and caring person.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND: LATE AUGUST ANIMATICS very beautiful and emotional. i go to sad-ist for the thrills and Late August to CRY. the music fits really well and all 4 in a row cover the entire plot of the dsmp even briefly from July 24th to April 29th but still focuses on the main plot. fully coloured with detail, 3-4 mins long. in order of: Innocence, Desolate, Resolve & Shatter also recommend Not Your Fault by Кир!!! very sad i cry but good song. pretty much search up any song and add "dream smp animatic" on the end and SOMETHING will come up
I hope you're doing a part 2 with Dawn of 16th, Sunsprite Eulogy and the Dream SMP Bloopers (the animation is amazing even though it's bloopers). Also, the acting in the Dream SMP is mostly improv. There are set events, but dialouge is not planned out.
ok but when like new watchers react to these animations in which the sounds are taken from minecraft videos so.. when they find the original clips, theyre met with block characters slightly nodding to imitate the action of talking.. theyre in for a treat
fishingrods can be used to bring people back in the fight, but usually we use rods to get the enemy in the air to get them in a combo since they take more knockback and have less control in the air, which is why dream looked like he was loosing control. the person that uses the fishing rod is the one in control if he knows how to use it.
I definitely recommend watching SAD-ist other animations, like "Sunsprite’s eoulgy" its a self contained story based on a fanfic that really beautifully made
people have already - and rightly so - suggested all of late august’s animatics (“innocence”, “desolate”, “resolve” and finally “shatter”) and i also want to add “arc ii” by onyx.
The acting rly is just amazing, also another great animator is late august, and his animations are all in order so i suggest u watch them all, he doesnt put voice lines in tho
