REACTING TO SEASON 9 OF THE NEXT STEP (E7) 

I’m so glad they said “team canada”. Them being referred by their team name whilst every other country was referred to by their country at the last internationals didn’t make sense to me

The internationals presenter is giving "we are DA SOUND MACHINE" 😂

I'd love it if Heath would've had interaction with Winnie before using studio one, or had a talking head abt it since at the start of the season, Kenzie specifically said that Studio 1 was B-Troupe space, so the fact that A-Troupe just go in there without us knowing if theres B-Troupe rehearsal supposed to be happening, but postponed, or if they have Winnie's permission seems strange to me.

I want to see more of Winnie because she basically just made cameos in the first two episodes

my working theory is that when signing up for the competition and registering their team they have to sign up everyone for the exchange programme and have it approved. could have been summarised in a talking head from nick.

So crazy how far this show has come since 10 years ago

i wonder what they would've done this season if pressley HAD made the team like she was meant to (they showed her making it in the deleted A-Troupe Party scene from Season 8)?

In my head canon its kinda like a situation of a reality show where the contestants sign a contract that shows they know what theyre getting into. Before ep 1. They knew they was going to Internationals and internationals is known for twists and tricks. So i just imagine that dancers and parents know anything could happen

I get that we know Kenzie is young but I don't really get it when people directly calls her a minor, she's literally not. You can very much tell bc it's just obvious and when you check the timeline you know it's impossible for her to be a minor. Like, look at her in season 6, are you going to tell she's just 14 yo and younger than Ozzy there? Bc that's what would be needed for her to still be a minor in this season, and that's just talking about the timeline.

I guess their parents could have sign a internationals participation "authorisation" saying that they will have to flight for some other place (Miami in S3) and that they might get choosen to go abroad to the others team studio. Anyways if that's so they could have said something about it.

The Ebby and Ethan scenes were cute and I like that Heath and Izzy are getting more scenes together. Izzy briefly mentioned Daisy but not in the way I wanted them to as it was more about Izzy realising how Heath works better when he has a rivalry with people like Ozzy, Xander and Daisy. 20:17 - Even though some of them gave her some death glares after losing the round, I don’t think any of the dancers in this episode have any reason not to trust Ariana except maybe Anthony? I think Olive and Adele are the only ones who would be suspicious but because they were absent alongside Jett, it leaves more room for Kenzie to sympathise with Ariana. I agree that her solo at the start was great as was the warrior song. And yes please do the S9 soundtrack video whenever you can.

yeahh I have to say them just choosing kenzie without knowing any of TNS's dancers situations is just super weird, and like you said this was also a problem in season 3 so this isn't a just a S9 problem. also did you notice that the live stream dance was inspired by Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime show haha! i also agree with the fact that someone could have literally been filming them instead of sitting down on the bench 😭 i do think budget has had a major impact this season, and i have a feeling this will be reflected in 9B, but let's wait and see!

at 9:01 when you referenced the swinging trio, but the diner background music was actually from richelle and noah’s S4 regionals duet😅😅

9:22 I thought that was Bicicletta, which was Noah and Richelle’s regionals duet song in Season 4, but I get most of the TNS songs mixed up, so who knows 😅

Yeah, the abrupt cut after the opening caught me off guard too. And I agree that TNS’ dance was so much better than L’equipe Etoile even with Ariana messing up deliberately. I feel like they only won purely because they had no mistakes. Team France choosing Kenzie as the exchange dancer is a good tactical move on their part as taking away the dance captain has the potential to remove the team morale that Kenzie has structured. And it gives Grace even more ammunition to continue to manipulate behind the scenes with Ariana who is now having doubts and is stuck in the crossfire. Regarding the exchange program, the studio head and dancers probably have to follow and agree to it as part of the Internationals curriculum. Terms and conditions maybe? I’m guessing that’s why dancers are required to go even if dancers like Kenzie and Amanda don’t necessarily want to do it. But it does raise the question of whether they still get the choice or consent to refuse if they have other circumstances in life. Guessing Kenzie doesn’t in this case. It’s funny how the dancer who doesn’t want to go abroad always gets chosen.

So, let me get this straight. Kenzie is being shipped off to another country But she is Dance Captain And, I may add, First on the Call Sheet Does this mean we are going to look at France every second scene Or Kenzie doesn't dance at Internationals And becomes ALTERNATE This season is good 😅

I love this episode. I think Team France sent Kenzie to go to the exchange program for Internationals since she's fluent in French which foreshadowed to Season 6 where Kenzie and Davis were helping Kingston with his French since his grades were a disaster so that he can rejoin A Troupe again if his grades are good, that's just my theory. I'm lost with the concept of this dance, why is Nick or anybody else who was sitting on the bench filming the video. Why is Nick and anybody else sitting on the bench in the Livestream? Why is Kenzie having a conversation with Ariana in the middle of the Livestream when Ariana messed up, why can Kenzie have a conversation with Ariana after the Livestream is over? I love Heath and Izzy's interaction, I missed their interaction so much. I agree with you that International Host sounds robotic. Why didn't Pete confess to Kenzie that he has feelings for her when the Livestream was over? Apparently Jan Caruana who played Brenda as a crew member at Dancemania plays as the International Host. I love how they mentioned Team Canada instead of The Next Step. I think Team France was the right choice to win since they did send Team Canada a care package to intimidate them that Team France means business but however I do think Team Canada won overall with the choreography alone minus with Ariana falling in the Livestream. I love that Izzy made Heath angry to make Heath land his move perfectly, that's what a true friend does. When are we ever going to have a Heath and Winnie interaction again? I miss Winnie so much. I hope Winnie and Izzy interact at some point since we got a brief moment in Season 7. I hope Ariana is a free person from the wrath of Grace, Ariana just wants to have fun and be friends with anyone instead of listening to Grace and taking down The Next Step. I love Ebby and Ethan's interactions. I love how Izzy mentioned Daisy in this episode. Please react to The Next Step Season 9 Soundtrack and as well other The Next Step Soundtracks. I'm assuming Kenzie would have to travel with a guardian if she was a child, but it's still a weird twist. Also, the Internationals lady being robotic didn't really surprise me - they're trying to be serious/intimidating like that lady in S3 who revealed the blindfold challenge (how did no one get seriously hurt by the way? 😂). And it makes sense for them to ask both teams to be present during the bonus prize because some losing teams might not be desperate to find out what the other team has won immediately.

I noticed in general for some of the more involved episodes like this one the editing is not the best so they can fill in the most content and dialogue. I’m surprised they didn’t just cut out the intro for this episode

I think the point of the exchange is once they sign up to internationals, they all signup to partake in the exchange. So they must've all knew there was a chance they could go (and would have to be somewhat willing), so I don't think it's like they are being forced to go lol

Loved ur reaction. I wish we could see more group international rehearsals like we have not seen the whole group dance and I wish nick or kenzie or eldon can be shown helping the dancers either for the miss or mr international soloist or for a trio like Kate did in S3

Waiting to hear who the France team chose was one of the first times I was fully caught off guard by TNS and couldn't fully predict where the plot would go, so that was cool. But, I still think it makes no sense that dancer can be forced to another country without their consent...especially the dance captain???? I didn't care for how the dance was filmed either, both of these things are the bigger examples of the issue this season has: making stuff actually believable, that certain events and decisions make sense based off information we know.

I still dont understand what Nick is doing here 😅This doesn't really have anything to do with this episode but I still think it's weird how a person that knows nothing about dance, has never danced in his life, gets to run a dance studio? And they don't even have a head choreoghrapher anymore either so no wonder they have to rely on the teenagers to run the whole studio 🙃Like I'd rather have Riley as my studio head if I danced there lol (I was watching s1 yesterday and realized how much I miss Kate and Chris together 😩They complemented each other so well and they were actually doing their job).

Am I the only one who is so confused about the layout of tns because in Lost and Found it says something like Floor 1 is cafe and stuff, floor 2 is lost and found (which became studio 1) and floor 3 is dance but now Studio 1 is next to the cafe, I'm just confused (not sure that all this info is right but it has confused me)

This season is so much better than 8B. And I’m so excited for 9B. Grace and heath that’s an interesting pairing but makes sense, since they both did somerhing involving a troup ❤

10:12 so this year’s French team is named, “L'équipe Étoile” which just means, “The Star Team” which is pretty lame imo imo, The Season 3 French Team, “Locronan École Royal de Danse” had a much better name, meaning, “Locronan Royal Dance School”

I think they’re cut transition scenes to avoid having to speed up/pitch up voices. All episodes except 11 are normal pitch.

I felt the same way abt kenzie being forced to go to France. Like I feel like everything this season has been realistic, but this plot just seems a bit unrealistic. I mean at least with Amanda it was her dance teacher choosing for her but for this it's kids from another country lmao. Also what u said abt none of them acknowledging jett not being there is very true. One of my pet peeves in this show is when characters are absent. But it makes it worse when there's no explanation or acknowledgement.

I didn’t like the plot twist this episode… team France just kidnapped Kenzie! Do her parents have a say? What if she has important issues in real life to deal with at the time? It’s so unrealistic. You can’t just whisk away a child. There was a plot like this in season 4 too iirc

It’s worse then Miss Kate shipping Amanda away because Miss Kate ultimately didn’t want to throw off A-troupe as a hole whether France are specifically doing it to Throw The next step off, and it’s stupid how they can send away children without no permission like what’s gonna happen next internationals, yeah you must go to Antarctica?? I also have a theory that since we know Kenzie speaks French as she taught Kingston in Season 6 that she might have some family up there maybe or she could have just learnt it from school but yeah

i did not like the epsoide 7 because Ariana made a complete mess , and Ebby should not go to France I should be Ethan . And Kenzie should ask Pete how would it feels to go to France . I hate that I am sorry Mocking Ariana Amy
