The fact that women’s body is soft (I would not say weak) is because of the hormones for child birth. Giving birth needs more strength. So please never portray a women weak etc. Women are the strongest in that way to bear both physical and mental pain. Overall I agree men has more muscle power and physical aspects. Even I am a mother of 3 boys, cooking is my passion, so i taught my children too the art of cooking, because they are interested. But i would never say or show anyone down if they do not know cooking.. i didn't know too.. i have always taught my children that man or woman.. we are equal.. i wouldn't say that only girls should learn cooking as girls are not supposed to be only confined to the kitchen... As I was changing our bedsheets the other day my 4 yr old son comes to me and said Amma I am going to help you so you can get some rest. I laughed in my head but did not refuse his help. He went ahead and stripped the pillow cases and put them in the laundry and helped me put on the new set of sheets and blankets. I was so humbled. Right then my husband said had I grown up like that I would have changed the sheets by myself and not just "help" you. He also helps my husband whenever he builds or does something around the house. My point start them young teach them to be strong and independent. Do not stop your boys from changing sheets or helping you wash the rice or cut some ends of the beans. Fathers do not stop your girls from helping you with the car, or help you with home projects. To change a fuse, battery,bulb or pay bills. Dont wait till they are 15-18 to fix mistakes or worse say things like ," it will change once they get married." These gender assigned roles should stop. I have no hope for Annie. She is not going to change or even be bothered to see the folly in her idelogies.

Later when those girls (all imaginary characters)realise one day their mom was wrong and blame her, then Annie might change her views.. With only male members in her family, she will never get the above realisation and will continue to speak and act as in this show..

So most probably her daughters in law will definitely not follow their mother in law.. Any mother will be at least a bit more affectionate to her daughter than her daughter in law (in most cases).. That fact made me feel that Annie would be able to understand her daughters' pains than daughters in law's pains..
