Tid bit: when Alex was “cut” from the show, before the first episode aired without him, I remember MTV did put up some sort of disclaimer just before the beginning of the episode stating he’d been fired due to racist comments and they don’t condone or stand by his behavior, something like that; but they did alert the audience why he was essentially not going to be seen on camera anymore Garrett is sweet, may not be the brightest lol, but I thought it was a very nice gesture to give Kelsey a key to his place when he knew she wanted him to ask her to move in…he’s obviously not ready for that but still wanted to do something to show her he cared; I appreciate that from him 👍🏼

This is true. They had apparently already filmed a lot of these episodes when he got canceled so MTV went in and edited him out. That’s why you will see the back of his head and his hand in his car, etc.. You can still look up online exactly what he said. It was racist comments on other peoples Instagram posts from what I remember. They also discussed it on a reunion show which I believe was in between this season and the previous one. This may have also been the time when Brandon got some girl pregnant so he isn’t really on the show that much for a bit. What kind of sucks is after Alex was canceled off the show. It did go downhill because that original juicy drama wasn’t there anymore.

I do feel for Juliette because I had a relationship like this in college. He was funny, charismatic, but also kinda dumb and a total player. Very much reminds me of Alex. so it felt good when he was “mine.” But it didn’t last long and it was like an addiction. I wanted so badly to warn the next girl but it truly was because I wanted to hurt him also. I ended up doing things very similar to Juliette- being mean, semi-violent, etc. It took a looooong time to get over him. So while I definitely don’t excuse her behavior, I understand it. I think a lot of girls/women can as well.

When she said that line it was such a total flashback for me because I had the exact same motivation. The behavior wasn’t ok and of course I wouldn’t do it again. She does lack self awareness when it comes to her friendships. She betrayed Alyssa by not telling her what Alex did once she found out, hooked up with Alex when he was dating juliette and that's supposed to be her friend but Amanda's gonna claim she didn't know that would hurt her friend, flirted with Brandon knowing chloe liked him and lied to her about it. Amanda is the friend no one can trust bc she turns on her friends for a guy. She's the type of girl you don't want your man around bc she has no loyalty or boundaries when she wants something. Idk if she thinks it's cool to be that way but it's a horrible trait to have bc good friends don't do stuff like that. She definitely needs a friendship class. She seems very unfriendly in general to alot of her friends.

i think it's more complex. in this episode she says several times that Alex gets always away with everything. It feels like she wants to show to people Alex's true colors so that they can finally acknowledge his bad behavior and doing so also her suffering. So she definitely doesn't do it for Alyssa, but for herself rather than for breaking them up.

Alex gave Juliette the power. He gave the opportunity to show his dad supports him cheating on Alyssa and he will easily cheat on her. No one would have known he cheats if he didn't cheat with Juliette. He did that to himself. Alyssa doesn't care if he cheats anyway. It might hurt her feelings when she finds out or sees signs but ignores them but gets over it quick. They are a perfect couple, Alyssa can handle cheating way better than Juliette could with him. Amanda is very much like Alex so takes it more personal than anyone. I do think Juliette only wants to tell Alyssa to see if it will break them up. Also, because she probably thought he would be more attentive to her after Nashville. For whatever reason Juliette wants to tell, it's strange to see people try to convince her she's wrong if she doesn't want to be a secret.

I don't feel bad for her at all. SHE put herself in it by always getting involved. So I wouldn’t be surprised if she felt as if she had to take the bag & she had to keep quiet just so she can have the opportunity w/ working for Gary. Not only that but she was right, her loyalty is w/ Alex not Alyssa lol. My issue isn’t w/ her being quiet, I’m actually proud of her for keeping quiet this long. I think Alyssa already knew about what happened in Nashville and her and Alex have decided to move forward with their relationship. I think they refused to film any scenes relating to it, then he was booted off the show anyway. The scene where Chloe and Mr Compo talk about it all was shot afterwards. Because surely you couldn’t stay with someone whose family was ready to keep that secret from you? And why the hell would his dad agree to film that scene if Alyssa honestly didn’t know.

I heard that they'd filmed this season before Alex was cancelled and then the producers had to create the storylines without him in it which is why it sometimes feels convoluted. Also the ISH impressions made me cackle

Does JJ care that Amanda and Alex hooked up since they are "such good friends". Also, I think how the group acts during this season is interesting bc during filming they didn't know Alex would be cut from the final edit, so the ones that stick beside him (like Amanda, Chloe) def are catching the side eye
