What Steph Curry did was iconic beyond words. In a game where he shared the court with KD and Lebron, he was double teamed and hit one of the hardest shot you could ever make.
Facts lol. They left kd and lebron open on the dagger 3 while doubling curry. But curry still hit it. People don’t realize how much curry be impacting that don’t shows on the paper
America, a country with a population of 333 million, defeated Serbia with a population of six million with the help of referees. Jokic was a superhero carrying a bunch of Euroleague players and three reserve NBA players on his back, while Curry had eleven future members of the basketball hall of fame behind him. It cannot be compared. Curry is my favorite player in the NBA and I'm glad that he proved in this championship that he is the best American basketball player.
Magic was a beast too. I have Steph in my all time starting V, but I think Magic was the greater player. You don't need magic if you have LeBron in your team.
I love Curry, but I watched Magic from his first game with the Lakers to his last. For me, Magic is the GOAT, Period. Curry is 2nd best PG ever, but he's not better than Magic.
@carlosiswhoiis9971 I hear ya, I was born in the 70's and watched magic in real time as well. He was amazing and when I went to the park guys on the break would be yelling show time and this in nyc. However I have NEVER seen anything like that light skinned devil. I watched KD on the floor in the NBA finals and the entire defensive scheme of the other team was to stop Curry even if that meant leaving KD open. The world just saw him on the court with Bron, KD, Joel and the Squad and put on an absolute jaw dropping heroic performance. All props to Magic ego firmly holds that # 2 but Curry is number 1 in my book.
Steph Curry deadass united the country during an election year in the name of patriotism just to watch dude bullseye threes from the parking lot against the rest of the world. He's been my GOAT point guard for years now, but I'm glad that it appears after these games the rest of the basketball world is coming around
@@AbimaelLopez-hz3qqwhat Steph does is borderline torture in terms of practice. The dude has workouts that have made other NBA players puke they're so exhausting. A few years ago, Steph let it slip that during his practices, if a shot hits the rim, he counts it as a miss even if it goes in. He's an absolute lunatic
He's a hater remember he texted Quitter Arenas after the 1st exhibition game and said Steph off da bench lol hater like Isaiah Thomas dumb ass said ThaSplash wouldn't avg 18 if he played back then bcuz of the "rules' blabla..I bet y'all didn't know that Jeff Hornacek avg 17.6 pts pg in the 1989-90 season lmao and he's a slow can't jump no handle white dude and u expect me to believe that Steph couldn't average 18 points 😂😂😂 bruh he might avg 38 in his prime
@@onilogbojubril9366 I can’t understand why they keep doubting Steph he was doubting him out college how many point guard was drafted before him three none of them in the league none of them of them had half the career Steph did when he got to the warriors they had a point guard they doubt Steph he’s not in the league Steph changed the game but he should not have started on the Olympic game conspiracy the man have proven himself and without Steph they don’t win the Olympics
I don't see Steph as a PG he is a shooting guard. There are better point guards who have played. Nash and Kidd being 2 of them. There were better Points like Wilt Chamberlin, Bill Russel, and Magic Johnson. I would say Steph is a Hybrid guard. He is best moving without the ball. So that doesn't make him a PG.
If you told me 20 years ago that in a tight game down the line, a 6’3 lightskin guard was the one that shot a game winning fadeaway while getting double teamed leaving arguably the GOAT and arguably the greatest scorer ever open, I would’ve called you insane.
What is this obsession with someone being light skinned and making that a handicap or negative in some way? As if he was successful in spite of being light skinned. Is this some new narrative that a certain generation is promoting?
Curry not athletic and prone injury player so I think it's impossible for him to play in next Olympics this one will be a tale to be told In the next generation so be happy you witness it
This game put Steph as the greatest player since MJ. You can argue all you want he changed the game, he has 7 footers shooting 3's because of him 4 chips, two where he sat back and let KD do his thing, but when the chips were down and KD and Lebron couldn't get it done, he brought home the gold! He's the GOAT of this generation, that being 2000 until present!!!!
So true. I really want him to do his thing WITHOUT Klay or KD this year. One more ring without other superstar, he would be in the discussion with the GOAT MJ.
You are attributing too much to Steph. 7 footers are shoot from long range because of guys like Dirk and KD. Why would Steph last two games where he went off all of sudden make him the best player since MJ? If Olympic play meant so much the dialog around KD would be alot different.
@@lelandwright3667 Because 7 footers come in abundance in the NBA like disposalbes. Basketball is a team sports and it's easier to build a winning team with Steph because of his unique skill set than any other player in NBA history. It doesn't matter if he cannot guard that well. It's counter-intuitive but his lack of defense could be easily mitigated from a team stand point while his offensive supremacy cannot be duplicated without him.
The only thing that's limited Curry's accolades is that the awards presenters will always favor Nike athletes. Curry being Under Armor has cost him at least four FMVPs, including these Olympics.
Facts it’s very obvious the WHOLE new resents on curry. For obvious reasons. He ain’t a Nike athlete plus he’s doing something new. He ain’t so loosing thier footsteps. He taking 30 foot shots and being successful. Plus he’s an undersized light skin which these nba players and journalists just can’t relate to.
Yeah I'd agree with that. Like....right underneath Steph I'd probably add Magic, then John Stockton, then Steve Nash, and then everyone else. AI ALMOST makes the cut, but not enough in my opinion.
I gotta change this at first I said Steph is greatest PG of all time but I'll say he's the best shooter & shooting PG of all time because Magic & the showtime Lakers were tough in fact he & Larry introduced me to basketball
The scary thing about this title is that Steph was definitely needed. Without Steph's outside and midrange jumper I'm not certain we win. Serbia had them on the ropes. France is much closer without Steph. The France game without Steph is a toss up.
Yea we’d probably get bronze. The fact that it took a player with a skill-set that will never be repeated to barely win two games shows a lot. You can’t play better basketball, that’s peak flow state.
Yall just come on here to chat sht ... we won gold last 4 olympics without him . Steph or no steph we always going to win GOLD . Next olympic when we win GOLD i wonder what yall going to say .
1. Icon 🗽 2. Superstar 🌟 3. Star ⭐ 4. Young star 💫 5. Star in their roll ✨ 5. Raw Talent 🥩 6. Starter 🏀 7. Roll player ⛹️ 8. Bench / rotation🪑 9. G league 🏋️
As a Curry fan since Davidson, and fan Still! I’ve watched Curry a lot, he made me love the nba again, when they finally put a team around him. The first few years were brutal, with injuries and front office issues. I’m glad he finally got his Ultimate Praise!! He’s really been doing this his whole career!!! It was just thefirst time on the Olympic stage!
@@realityutubetv8846 You can't compare eras because it's unfair. It's like comparing Issac Newton to any physics phd student now. The phd student now would destroy Newton in terms of pure physics knowledge and capabilites.
While LeBron's consistent performance has been instrumental in leading the US team to numerous victories, which earned him the MVP, the impact of Curry's performance in the last two games to clinch the gold cannot be understated. His exceptional play during these crucial moments will indeed be a highlight when reflecting on this tournament. It's the ability to perform under pressure that often cements a player's legacy, and Curry certainly rose to the occasion.
There will be documentaries kids watch of this that will seem like old relics to them highlighting this tournament, like the dusty Barcelona dream team vids that were ripped from old VHS tapes and uploaded onto early youtube. This is historic.
@@supersaiyanjin2199curry did not carry sht . Yall just come on here to type shit . He was great hitting 3's last two games . Bron, KD , book all consistent all tournament . Having two good games does not make you the MVP . Jheezzzzz
@@JustJayMusic08 Yea, but USA would've won the first 3 group games and the game vs Brazil nonetheless. Without Steph they would've lost to Serbia in the first half lol. Hes the MVP for me. I aint mad lebron won just fyi. But steph was insane vs Serbia and France when it mattered the most
Just absolutely insane with Steph Curry and team USA LeBron James being fiba mvp Kevin Durant and Devin Booker make big buckets and shots there down the strech there as well.🏀💯
Steph is the GOAT pg. Magic is incredible but the impact that Steph has on a basketball court is far greater. Magic helped his teammates by dishing them incredible dimes. Steph does it by his non stop movement off the ball, and forcing the other team to double him every possession
Also, Magic went to the finals 9 years out of 12 years he played. Has 5 titles. Saved the NBA from bankruptcy and put it on prime time. Retired as the all time assist leader.
@@maxdubs222 Nope because Steph is at his best moving without the ball. The entire cometary in both the men's and women's games when talking about Steph is how great he was moving without the ball. It made the defense have to spread their defenses to try and control Steph. He also had a bigger space to make passes compare the the early players who had narrower lanes to pass in. Go look at the games in the 80's they were played within the 3 point line. While today's game is play outside the 3 point line. Steph contribution is opening up the space. You didn't have 4 of your 5 players standing outside the 3 point arch. It's why you can never compare the different eras because the rules and format are different. Before the mid 80's they played less games so many of those season records were done in fewer games. So you can't say they were better based on the records. I remember the playoff being over by early May.
Steph deserves the love and the admiration from people around the world. Fantastic athlete. Great family man. I'm not even American but I'm talking to God about Steph as though I'm Steph's sister and coach! 😅
Curry wayy more skill than Magic Johnson, if Curry actually has help and not carrying the last couple of seasons he have way more than 6 rings. Injuries and in fight drama caused us to waste several seasons
Magic played with the greatest Center of all time!he played with 2 former league MVPS Kareem, Mcadoo and another top 75 player in James Worthy and another hall of famer in Jamaal Wilkes! Magic never carried a team on his back and won never won without Kareem! Steph won before KD, With KD, After KD!! The one constant Steph Curry! If he isn't a PG then Magic is a point forward! Nobody at 6'2" has done what Steph has done!
Yeah it was a tough adjustment at first and what Allie Clifton said just messed up an entire population when that happened overall when LeBron went to the Lakers. I figured it took espn awhile to figure that out but it worked.🏀💯
Anyone that thought Steph wasnt in the same Class gotta hold it. He just showed everyone that in games where the best players are on the floor he puts enough pressure that you gotta leave LBJ and KD OPEN to go DOUBLE him from a shot. The best part is how everyone on his team is happy they playing with him. That to them is what made that shit special. No one and I mean NO ONE on that team was mad he took them shots. Sometimes players want that glory. They conceded that to him and trust him. Steph hit them shots for America. And America enjoyed that shit!
Just me being honest, if you ask me do i wanna draft steph or magic, the answer is steph easily. I get itagic won more, yadayadyada you also have to look at the level of competition, all magic really havd to worry about for most of his career was Boston. Steph had to deal with Bron, KD, Jokic, Giannis, Luka, hell even Kobe in his early career and yet he still managed to claim 4 titles, 2 mvp awards one of which was unanimous, damn near every 3 point record known to man, the only person who has a 3pt record he hasnt touched yet is Klay. Not to mention he can do more than just shoot, dude has elite ball handling skills, high basketball IQ, good passer, can finish around the rim with little no effort. The greatest off ball movement mankind has ever seen. Is actually pretty good defensively despite the narrative (i mean the dude led the league in steals before) you wanna talk about a man who couldnt be anymore gifted in basketball look no further. Only thing he lacks is a dunk package and when you can do all that other stuff who gives a damn if you dunk consistently or not, and then the opportunities created for his teammates just by him being on the floor. The opposing defense naturally gravitates towards him allowing those around him to thrive and what else is a point guard if not someone who creates opportunities for his teammates, GREATEST PG EVER CREATED
i was born in the late 80s therefore Lebron has been a huge reason for me being a fan. This is the last time we will see Durant Bron and Steph on the same squad. Crazy to think, they are still to this day running the league and the league looking up to these 3 as they won the gold medal.
I don't know how Jokic doesn't quality and superstar or megastar. MVP 3 out of the last 4 years and it could have easily been 4 straight. Closest thing to an automatic triple double I've ever seen.
I'm a huge Curry fan but from my perspective it seems like low key everyone pretty much accepts Jokic as a near certified future top 15 (let's be real top 10 is too restrictive, maybe even top 15) if not already. He will get more rings for sure and his time for the shine will come. These guys clearly put too much emphasis on x-factor, it's a joke.
@@dudemanismadcool I think Jokic and Curry offer different things. Jokic is a franchise player that almost guarantee's the playoffs (kind of like Bill Russell). He says give me a couple of all-stars to help me and we can win a championship. Curry says give me a competitive team that can get to the playoffs and at that point I will be the difference. Curry's contribution is more impressive and lights up the stadium. Jovic's contribution is probably at least as important.
Nahhhhh to be a MegaStar, you need to be a fucking super relevant to the non NBA audience. If Jokic keeps this up, then he will be. But comparing the big 3 who have been in the public eye since 2010 is not the same as Jokic
No one ever talks about Steph is the only player to have competed in an environment he alone forced adaptation; won not only a chip but finals mvp. He's his own Darwin effect.
I usually don’t agree w perk but he made a solid point about Steph kd and lebron being mega stars. Pretty much to say they at god level lol. And it’s crazy cuz this ain’t even prime bron. Steph and kd we can say they’re in their 2017-2018 lebron era of their primes but it is gonna end soon
steph curry is easily the best pg to ever play the game i mean its really not even close man. people are stuck in the nostalgia of older players but the way steph has changed the game is insane like he altered the way whole generations of people play the game of basketball bro. before curry nobody would ever take shots inn the same way he would bc before curry you would be considered stupid if you even attempted it and to change the landscape of the game in that way is purely iconic!!!
Don’t know what you’re talking about…LBJ having the best ratings. The last time LBJ was in the finals, it was the worst viewed Finals of all time. Steph is by far the most popular player and it’s not even close. The media likes to hype James but he’s not the draw you’re making him out to be.
They both gain big ratings the Heat finals ratings were bigger than any of the Warriors finals that didn’t have the Cavs in it. The NBA finals ratings in general have been the lowest in the 2020s. The 2010s had the biggest finals ratings outside of the 90s when Lebron Steph and KD were in their prime so they all deserve credit because they carried the ratings for the NBA.
@@datsapaddlinDwane wade and Chris Bosh might STILL have bigger individual fan bases than Klay and Draymond. Add Ray Allen to that heat team they were a very popular team. That might be the most popular team in individual fan bases of all time.
@@trevorsoderquist9110Lebron was the main star on that team and he continued being the most popular star in the league after the Heat. That’s why he’s always the top vote getter in the All star game. After Lebron left the Heat were never that popular again even with Wade still being on the team. Him going to the Heat was what made them the most popular team in the league and he was able to make the Cavs relevant again when he came back. Even with the Lakers their ratings fell after Kobe left and he brought them back up when he went there too. No ones talked about more than Lebron in USA sports because he brings the most ratings.
The 2028 Olympics USA Team will have inexperienced players at an Olympic level. I don’t see Kd returning or holiday or embiid. Zion, Trae , Ja , Chet, would all debut just to name a few.
@@prod.snqwfall1347 d white prob not, and honestly kd probably will. He already said “we will see” and his love for basketball will probably drive him to want to come back. He should still be in the league in 4 years too.
This reminds me of soccer World Cup finals how mbappe of France scored 3 goals on the finals finishing to scorer of the tournament but Messi won the World Cup and the mvp he did everything finishing second in goals finishing top in assist was Argentina best player of every game, lebron James is Messi like and Steph is mbappe like
Steph is the GOAT PG. Top 5 ever. Magic aint close to Steph in skillset with all due respect and its an understatement of how insane Steph is (not at all a disrespect towards Magic). Steph had a dysfunctional org and battled injuries early in his career. And people easily forget Magic played with Kareem right from the beginning. Steph has struggled his way through and he is the most skilled offensive juggernaut in my opinion
I just have one thing to say... "ICONIC" Curry has been iconic in the USA for 9+ professional years ( those 2015 season games!!!) In 2024, Curry demonstrated why he is iconic to the rest of the world in that Finals game against France in the 4th quarter. Because just when the opponent is at the height of belief and hope, Curry will flurry on you and cause entire teams' despair. Hell, Victor Wembanyama was CRYING ya'll!!!! And evidently, there is a report that some French people attacked Curry's newborn child afterwards!!! I can't think of another basketball player, on the world stage, who can or did, drive people insane enough for them to attack a tiny baby's head like that!! So yeah, he's beyond superstar status. On a positive note, the baby seems fine, but nothing was done to bring those responsible to justice.
If Steph's looking for an opportunity for a ring, there's probably better destinations than LA. From the Warriors standpoint, they'd be looking for future assets, in terms of picks or young players. I think you're looking for a team that's a solid group of contenders or close contenders, that could find lots of rotation minutes at PG for Steph. Maybe Minnesota, Boston, Orlando, Miami, New Orleans would be better destinations, in my opinion. It would be fun to see if Steph could elevate one of these young teams!
Why would they always talk about the age?It does not matter if he is 30 or 40 years old as long as he is healthy and if Steph wants to do it in 2028!That's all it matters!Remember, muscle memory lasts a lifetime!
