STRAY KIDS are headlining 3 major festivals this year, each with such an insane capacity bst hyde park: 65k i-days milano: 80k lollapalooza chicago: 100k SO PROUD OF MY SKZ. ❤️❤️❤️
@MCD, yes you are corrected that Stray Kids made all these genres. You need to hear their one of a kind, very unique songs, "Side Effect" and "The tortoise and the hare". These 2 songs are very dearly to Stays because they are so different and uncommon in Kpop.
I agree with both of those suggestions. SKZ was the first to use psychedelic trance in K-pop with "Side Effects"... and "The Tortoise and the Hare" is an experimental masterpiece.
The dance has a lot of the Maori Haka moves in it. Haka is a traditional dance used to hype up warriors before battle and to tell their history. I love that SKZ is influenced by tons of cultures and when they do use those influences... they are respectful.
Speaking of live performances..... I highly recommend watching the performances from the KINGDOM show.... it's a must see. A show where several bands battle it out... and guess who wins.) @@MCDofWCR Kingdom performances are amazing! Especially gods du du du, I’ll be interesting if you guys heard the original song first (by blackpink), skz made a different version of it for that performance
@@MCDofWCR Each of these performances is a masterpiece 💯 god’s ddu-du 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (its the mix of the songs - SKZ-Good 's menu/Blackpink ddu-du ddu-du - it's better to watch them in advance in order to fully feel the coolness of what the guys mixed. The choreography there is a another kind of beauty🔥🔥🔥)
Thanks for reacting to Miroh, it has such high energy. I liked the "carnival" example to describe that feeling. Adding sounds like the eagle and lion here, or sirens, gunfire etc. in other songs is common. Their sound has been called "Noise Music" or noisy music pretty often, which they just seem to embrace and own (One of their albums is titled "No Easy" as testament to that, I believe.) "Stray Kids HOO!" is absolutely a memorable audience participation moment, as several of my fellow Stays have already said in the comments and I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say that I'm ready and willing to loose my voice again from the experience. 🤍
@MCD, I really like how to host the reaction. Love your patience and gentle reaction to your guest. In addition to his comment, you add in yours after he speaks. Both of you are working so well together.
Thanks for the reaction. Yes, you're right. That's the way the dance was intended. In other people it's a kind of battle dance, a challenge, they weaved elements into the context of the video and their song.... as a challenge to the world.) I'm very much looking forward to the reactions to the live performances and also to the Side Effects, Double Knot, Levanter videos... these are my 3 favorite and very different in style songs from the old album.
You should check out their song "Side Effects", it's also one of their big songs and it's a very uncommon genre in k-pop music. I think you will like it!
There is such a difference between a title track's production, and a B-side production. But they are still so good. Miro does mean maze in Korean. But Changbin actually thought to put the H at the end, to signify either heaven or hell...Depending on how you view the maze. You can get hurt as you go through the maze, or you can raise yourself above it. Oh. One fun thing. SKZ tend to have a intro song for the albums. It's normally short. Around 1 to 2 min long. But they are normally a song made with bits of the other songs. The Cle 1: Miroh album had the song Entrance. And it's kind of like your first step into a loud & active jungle. There are so many strange & loud noises that seem to leap out, and yet fade into the sounds. The next two albums in the Cle trilogy had two intro songs that actually got split from one. Cle 2: Yellow Wood has the first part (The Road Not Taken) and Cle: Levanter has the second part. (Stop) Most people put the last two together, because they are parts of the same song. But it's so fun to listen to. If you ever look at an album track list, definitely listen to the first one. It will give you the vibes of the album, without spoiling the album.
I loved watching this, especially as a stay that has been around from the beginning. Not only is it nice to hear a new perspective on their songs, but also seeing these old videos just makes me realize how far they have come. Stray Kids and STAY have really grown up together and I tend to forget how I felt at the beginning, so it's nice watching other people experience it and hopefully become fans.
You should check out these two songs: SUPER BOARD ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8ziUcTYwARI.html BATTLE GROUND (one of their Japanese tracks) (There's no official M/V, but the song is great. They opened their 2023 Dome Tour concerts with Battle Ground.) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HY8eQ5cLkSc.html (^^^^^ stop listening at the 3.30 mark. Any music after that was added by the person who made the video.)
Battle Ground is SO underrated, though to be fair, it has a lot of great contenders for 'top track' on that album. (I personally LOVE The Sound, it's still one of my favorite Japanese releases they've done) I love that they'll sometimes open concerts/performances with that song though. It's an anthem for sure
Nice!! Miroh is still my favourite song. I second-guess myself every time a new song comes out but then I hear it again and I remember why I love it so much. It really just hits me in my soul 💖 STRAY KIDS HOO!
Have you reacted to Victory Song yet? It's another amazing track on this album. They have the performance video (which is really just a m/v) and then there is their 2020 MAMA stage performance! Stray Kids "승전가(Victory Song)" Performance Video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fy3zu0WsTLM.html Stray Kids 2020 MAMA (Victory Song) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SsBtJSVdmhM.html --- You might get copyright striked on this MAMA one though. Just a heads up.
@@MCDofWCR MAMA performances are great but there are copyright problems. Their AAA 2023 performance was really live and it looks like reactors can do reactions without copyright problems ([#AAA2023] StrayKids (스트레이 키즈) - Broadcast Stage | Official Video)
I made a big post yesterday but forgot to send it haha. Just wanted to say that I loved being able to watch the premiere and interact a bit! I'm really hoping you both will be able to see them live at Hyde park. I did want to mention that live performances and YT is tricky. They often get blocked, need to be blurred etc etc. Especially for things like Korean variety shows, live music shows, Kingdom week (which you should def see those performances!). They have a ton of Japanese content as well and it's often blocked too unfortunately, with the one exception being "The First Take". Those are amazing performances of just them and a mic and I think they have 5 or 6 songs on there now. None that you've heard yet though. You're typically safe to react to things if it's on SKZ official youtube channel (they also have a Stray Kids Japan official channel, and MVs are okay, but other stuff is iffy) I'm really looking forward to you getting to know the individual members (and of course, "Side Effects"). I found the easiest way to learn who is who was by watching SKZ-CODE, their own variety show. They're all just so chaotic and funny. I've seen people react to them on YT but often they're done on Patreon, along with those other things that tend to be blocked on YT. Also, I still couldn't find Ryan's channel haha. I think I'm just dumb or the algorithm hates me.
Thank you for being part of the live chat yesterday! It was super cool to hang out with everyone - might look into live streams in the future which I think would be fun:) thank you also for the heads up around copyright! It’s a tricky minefield for sure 🖤 try youtube.com/@RyanReactsHQ?si=BMBknV9b3T7nPKzN and see if that works 😝
I don't know if anybody mentionned it yet, but you were right about the african i fluence: the woahoh woahoh woahoh melody part is a traditionnal African chant from a particular ethny (I can't remember which and where from, only that it's in the southern half of the African Continent)
You are going to find lots of EDM influences in your stray kids journey, EDM has a strong foothold on people growing up in Sydney Australia which is probably why Bang Chan always lean towards producing more punchy EDM styled beats. But once again, Be sure to check their Kingdom Perfomances you wont be let down.!
Miroh is so catchy. Our boys amazed us again, with their choreography displaying pride, strength, and the unity of their group, like Maoris 💪. Thank you both for your reactions. I’m a fan. See you soon for the next video. 🤟 SKZ
yess miroh!!! i agree it doesn't seem long enough lol it really flies by! another great reaction, you make a great duo. i guess Side Effects is coming up at some point soon, a very interesting track i'm looking forward to hearing your takes on 😁
If you want to watch the guys perform, I suggest their concert in Japan. Incredible power right from the start. There are solo performances - they start at 52 minutes with Felix's solo. Sorry if it’s not clear, I’m writing through Google Translator. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ndI90vNYVYo.htmlsi=SHQeacf3tANOE9HD
Since you seem to appreciate their dancing skills, I would suggest their song "Domino" from their NoEasy album (2021). It criminally did not get a video! 😭 But is specifically, and deservedly, famous for its choreography. So the recommended viewing experience is... 1⃣ Start with the official Domino Unveil track - which is like a mini-video teaser but totally worth it! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GH66aDut538.htmlsi=enYlTr0oiZRn0-fB 2⃣ Then a lyric video for the actual full song. (Also a good way to associate the voice with the member's name - like Felix, the one with the deep voice!) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fOYgl9UrMpM.htmlsi=eN0QNXwzz9o05H8w 3⃣ And then the most important part... The Dance Practice!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uo15XCE8RY4.htmlsi=wswKaQMJZZC_MXPA The entire dance choreography is done with a repeating domino effect (canon), it's just impecable, their footwork is so satisfying. Additionally, there is an English version (just as good) that they included as a gift on their holiday album, Christmas EveL (2021). As well as music show live stages and concert footage you can watch on your own. This song is a banger!
I think that youtube might push your video to recommendations if you start cutting it a bit. You both have such cool comments, but they're kinda stretched out through 15 minutes of comments and most peopke don't have the attention span for such a long time of listening. Putting in the first reaction and then the most impactful comments might increase your viewer time statistic
I get where you’re coming from but I don’t want to cut stuff out really. Maybe we’ll try to waffle a little less as we get more used to doing these though! Try to keep it a little more concise anyway:)
