At this point I don’t even put my ferrets in there cages cause I feel so bad they’re in a small area when they could literally roam the whole house.

I'd also like to add that I want to let them Free roam all day (except for when I'm not home) but it's really hard when they become extremely destructive and bored regardless of how many toys they have :/

Hi I am planning on getting a ferret in or around December almost for certain and I cannot tell you how excited I am! I’ve been researching as much as a can, and watching lots of videos like yours (which are so informational by the way) for info from owners with experience. I love animals so much and I’m really set on becoming a vet or animal specialist. I already have a small pack of animals that would be so cool to add a little slinky ferret to! I’m planning to get a large cat cage only because it fits my budget, however, only because it has four levels and so much room. I’m also getting several hammocks, a cube bed, lots of blankets and a large bin that I’m going to fill with pellet litter. Im getting heavier ceramic bowls that if they do tip I will Velcro to the cage and for last resort I have a plastic sitting feed and waterer AND wouldn’t mind spending money on crocks if it was that bad. I’m going to start on a 98% meat, organs, and cartilage air dried cat food but will probably end up transiting onto raw. I’m making the deal with my parents for cost- I’m paying $450 dollars up front for everything I need and more, and their helping pay vet bills and ongoing costs of food and litter, although I will have to do extra chores. Any concerns/info/ideas/questions? Would LOVE feedback!! thank you sorry I write soooo much and you are very pretty btw

real question: do you work? We recently brought a ferret into our family and while we try to provide as much out of cage time as possible, both my wife and I are full time and our children attend school. We have large dogs that are not aggressive towards our ferret, but I can't allow it to free roam while we are not home. I just wonder how you are able to afford your ferrets the hours out of the cage that you describe...

My one ferret has a ferret nation cage one unit but he only sleeps and eats his food and drink his water in there he is out the whole day...should I still get a bigger cage?...

Hi I’m thinking about getting a ferret but I’m a working student and have a dog that I think would attack the ferret is it and to have a ferret in like a big room with a closet?Also I am getting a little bit of a smaller cage but what’s your opinions on this?

I rescued a ferret last year. Recently we rescued another one. We have a male and female now. I let them play but I’m scared to put them in the same cage at night. They love each other. I’m not sure if they can be food aggressive. I messaged the vet to know for sure. It’s sad because at night they both try to escape to get to each other. I’m too scared to put them together unsupervised still.

I would totally consider buying a Ferret Nation cage, but they’re so expensive my parents wouldn’t allow it.

In the morning I have a alarm to wake Ozzy up and I’m usually tired so I’ll put him in his pen then when I get up I’ll let him out

I am currently in that situation right now just got my first ferret didn’t get a big cage and only have one ferret and I feel awful that I made this mistake. Unfortunately can’t get a new cage or another ferret till I move in the next two weeks. So I promised the little guy he will get a mansion and a hot new girlfriend once I am in a much bigger place.

Can someone have their opinion on mine? My ferrets spend 9 hours in a large hutch outside and when I get home they are let free roam the house for 7/9 hours (depending on when I get back) and when its time for bed they are put into a play pen for rabbits and they sleep there (inside) then once morning comes I put them back in their hutch for the day to repeat it self On weekends they spend no time at all in their hutch they just free roam around the house since i dont go anywhere on weekends. And when they need to go to sleep for the night they are still put into the play pen for the night but in the morning they get to stay in the house for the whole day. Honestly i'm not sure if thats correct I do alot in the seasons to make sure they are not too hot nor cold and I always try to get home early so I can let them inside. The reason I cant have a cage inside is because me mother won't let me (I don't know why shes let me free roam them for hours a day but wont let me keep a cage in the house so when I go to school they wont be outside)

Can you help with something? My ferrets, both of them, are now suddenly going outside of the litter box. I tried to cover all of the cage, except the bottom “bathroom” area, with blankets thinking they wouldnt go on what they sleep on or where they eat. Their cage is mostly empty now since they’ve ruined all of their bedding with waste and I need to clean it. They do go in the litter box still but for some reason randomly go on the most top level or the food level. How do you stop this? I’d like to give them their blankets back and not have to constantly scrub the actual shelf instead of the litter box.

I would upgrade because I’m gonna get a ferret soon but I have a really small cage for now but my room isn’t the biggest and we’re redoing it and remodeling and we’re about to tear down the walls and once we get everything back up I have a double bed and a dresser a desk and a nightstand and really really small room barely 10 x 10‘ feet are so my parents don’t want to spend that much money I’m just a cage for a stupid rodent

Is it possible for ferrets and cats to coexist? I have 2 NM cats and 2NM ferrets. The eldest cat isnt really a fan and the youngest has never met them. Have you had experience having both species live together?

If I can convince my mum to get me a ferret she said she would get a tiny cage and it was sad I would get a ferret nation but really pricey
