Sakurai has been attacked by terrible comments, PARAGRAPHS of hate, and even DEATH threats from people that want Waluigi in. He goes through all of this just for 60% of the Waluigi community to attack him. No wonder Waluigi hasn’t made it in. King K Rool and Banjo/Kazooie players has been asking nicely or at the very least, respectfully for Sakurai to in the game, and he did. He can’t grant everyone’s wish, but he certainly won’t grant a wish from the people who are ungrateful for his work.

The only reason people think that is because they saw the Unreal logo on the end card for the direct, and assumed it was for Smash, and not the multiple other games shown in the direct that are actually built in Unreal. Go check the standalone Smash video from Nintendo, and you'll see it's not in the end card.

Some people just remain negative and in denial. Ports don't change mechanics or graphics, they simply remain the exact same aside from using newer hardware. Smash fans tend to be a bit unreasonable though, so people will fuss over this "port" for months.

Can’t tell is this is a troll, but the game uses a new engine, which means that it would’ve had to be built from the ground up. Plus the direct gave us 5 new characters, with more to come, so we have 8 new characters so far. A port would mean that it is just the Wii U game on the Switch.

The only major differences are to graphics in that regard. It's hard to top a console with a hybrid of console and portable.

Are you kidding? Changing the lighting engine and menu screen doesn't make something a new game. I could install mods for smash Wii U right now that do all of that and more. This is a deluxe port.
