“this is a great concert song” ok now you guys HAVE to react to the entire reputation tour in concert movie i’m sorry😭😭 like it is an entire EXPERIENCE
i just find it cool to point out that the sound of taylor clearnig her throat in the beggining of Ready for It, the first track in reputation, is to symbolize someone who's about to speak up after a long time being silent. This is a direct reference of her context at that time, since she went out of public eye for a year before releasing that album because of the scalation of the kanye situation and everybody, including the mass media, deciding she was a bad person
So much of the fandom hates end game but it’s such a good song 😭 reputation is a no skip album for me. It’s so good. I would love to see you guys react to Ed Sheeran’s song “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” if you’ve never heard it before. It’s from his first album and he raps on it
I LOVED E.G. Actually, I lived Reputation. It was a woman falling in love. It was fun, sensual, and following up with Lover, such a lovely development for her.
Taylor used to do these things called “Secret Sessions” where she would invite fans to her house to listen to the album before it came out. When she played Dress her mom would leave the room because… well, you know 😂
I never got it why I like (why we like) watching new people react and then fall in love with Taylor’s music. Some do it for clout 🥴 and we see through it. Now I get it - WE WANT TO REEXPERIENCE DISCOVERING HER FOR THE FIRST TIME THROUGH THEM. We want to relive hearing the music for the first time with them. ❤
I agree completely but I also love seeing other peoples tales and feelings on songs. I think also hearing people understand and give her props just makes me feel understood and better about the world
I love "dress" and the concert version is just everything. When she says " say my name and everything just stops" the silence and black out after it is the moment.
Ashton's perplexed expression and, "What are you bobbing your head to?" had me cracking up🤣I was wondering that too but Darriel was obviously feeling that bop and who could blame him really.
I love how Taylor says smth in the beginning of the song to make you think, uses beautiful lyrics to explain what she means, then says it again at the end now that you understand it. She a lyrical genius
Listen, ready for it on the reputation tour gives me GOOSEBUMPS everytime. It's just pure hype. I wasn't a huge fan of the song at first, but live it is SO GOOD
Reputation is definitely my favorite album! She openly reflects on her mistakes and past in this album, and acknowledges it with self awareness! And it's also super spicy!
15:19 had me laughing 😂 Welcome back y'all. Your next ones should be Getaway Car, Death By A Thousand Cuts, Haunted, Out of The Woods - Live from 1989 concert. Enchanted/Wildest Dreams mash up - live from 1989 concert.
It would be son interesting to see you guys reacting to her first album after this, seeing that difference in her voice. You guys are doing the entire swiftie clan proud and i love that you guys are really inputing your understanding to it. It's actually pretty spot on so far!
A lot of reputation is her playing a character, kind of reclaiming the rumors and image that the media and haters have painted of her. She started doing this type of concept with Blank Space and it’s just brilliant. I Did Something Bad is another great character song!
To me Ready for it describes taylor as she's getting back to dating as a 'serial dater'. Except, this time the relationship will be different. Not just a fling, and she can feel it. This song is her warning her lover about her reputation and at the same time confessing that ths time it's not going to be that kind of a relationship. Ready for it prepares us for the rest of the album, which was a completely different style musically compared to her previous ones. At the same time, it tells us that this is not a breakup album. It's a head over heels one. A relationship where she's so afraid of the person leaving her due to her reputation, where she's been humbled by the way people viewed her as a snake and so someone liking her even with this image must be feeling something special.
These song live are even better This was a comeback album. She even cleared her throat at the start of ready for it. You'll enjoy the visuals of those live performances too
Just as a background for u guys to better understand this album. Kanye west had made the song famous and included lyrics that Taylor didn’t like and that he didn’t mention to her. She later said online I never heard or approved of this lyric, and then Kim released a secretly recorded phone call which she edited to make it sound like Taylor knew the song and she is just trying to act like the victim(the phone call was later released and ts wasn’t lying about certain lyric not being told to her) and then Kim was calling her a snake which caused everyone to bully her online. She later went off the internet for three years, then came back with this album reputation.
Taylor really shines during her live performances. Here’s some live performances you two might enjoy. I love watching creative men in other genres listen to her work. That lip bite YOU GET IT!!!!, also I use to skip endgame but I won’t now you’re dead on its 🔥🔥 (past me was “wrong”).
You guys are totally right about Ready For It being a good live song. I remember when i went to the Reputation concert and that whole opening performance had me TRANSCENDING. Def recommend you watch the live performance!
Why do I feel the one in the hat feels more deeply about the songs which have deep lyrics? Like with all too well and champagne problems, he was really really into it and can really dissect the lyrics. love you both for this reaction tho!! So good ♥️
Y’all crack me up. Thank you for doing these reactions, I’ve loved Tay since debut and to see the progression of her career as it happened was insane but you guys put me right back into the moment I first heard these songs with your reactions. It’s so entertaining, keep it up!
I'm so annoyed because I set notifications for the channel but I'm still delayed 😭 but yassss new tay video thank you guys been having withdrawals from your videos ❤️ Thank you for appreciating our queens brilliance and for actually listening to the lyrics and learning the back story to understand what she's saying 🥰
not me getting called out for the "don't talk to me, feeling like the main character" vibes when listening to ready for it for recommendations: the 1 off of folklore, mastermind/karma/you're on your own kid off of midnights, marjorie/no body, no crime off of evermore, and getaway car off of reputation.
In the secret sessions she did for reputation, she told the fans that although they had signed an nda and they couldn't talk abt what happened in the sessions, she gave them permission to say that all the songs that were love related like dress, end game, delicate, king of my heart, ready for it, etc. were abt Joe Alwyn (her boyfriend at the time). They were together for almost 7 years from October 2016 to April 2023. The media didn't find out until May 2017. They lived in London most of the time other than during the pandemia when they were in her loft in NYC.
“What is Ed Sheeran gonna do is he gonna rap?!” You guys realize Ed has like, several songs with Eminem right? Lol. Ed was a grime rapper way before he sang
Ahhh there’s so many good ones but since you guys are on the reputations album you should definitely listen to: Don’t Blame Me Call It What You Want I Did Something Bad Delicate
When ed Sheehan says "on the 4th of july," he's referencing how he met his now-wife at one of Taylor's famous parties she normally throws at her summer mansion in Rhode Island. She didn't have it this year because she's out on the Eras tour. Ed is now married and has a baby with the girl be met at Taylor's party, referencing he wanted her as his "end game." Ed and Taylor are best friends
This video is my fave I LAUGHED SO HARD with the reactions from the 2 song (ps do DON'T BLAME ME or the entire album). I really enjoy watching your reactions and listening to your thoughts or linking the bars
I highly suggest illicit affairs, death by a thousand cuts, timeless, castles crumbling, Cornelia street, I bet you think about me, you’re on your own kid…I could go on but I’ll stop here for now 😂
Rep is such a particular project that it would be nice to see u guys see some of the more sentimental stuff from it like delicate. Also as 1989 approaches you NEED to cover CLEAN and a few other mentions: enchanted (very girly cute maybe see it with the owl city cover as well), anything she did with bon iver or the national and stuff about her self loathing like anti hero OH and you need to listen to the bridge of death by a thousand cuts
the part where you realized what was going on with dress made me laugh omg 😭 you guys should react to false god off lover!! same vibes as dress but like. more somehow.
Most people don't catch the last lines of Ed's rap "With four words on the tip of my tongue/I'll never say it" Will. You. Marry. Me? Except he did say it!😉
Please also listen to Call It What You Want. It's like reliving a great war with a very calm tone and voice. Very underrated yet wonderfully written, a great takeaway for those who experienced their darkest night. And also the beat shakes your soul and background effects are sooo 'unholy'.
I wish you watched the AMA performance of I Did Something Bad before diving into this era… I love seeing people react to that performance before going into Reputation blind 😂 You should still react to it tho, it’s too legendary 🥲 The album is impressive with just a listen, but I think the performances and music videos add so much depth to the culture of Taylor’s comeback during this point in time. I still remember it so well. She was absolutely DRAGGED because of the drama with Kanye. It was a dark time for her fans and Taylor especially. But then she emerged with this sound, this attitude and confidence, and called out her mistreatment. She ATE. I think without context, this album can be missed or underrated by people who are only hearing it for the first time now… they might not understand the hype. But you have to understand: She was off the grid and unjustly “cancelled” for a year before this album came out of nowhere and bitchslapped everyone in the face.
Ready for it! Did u guys notice she said “ehem” at the beginning? It’s because she’s been in hiding for years not being able to tell her side of story so “Ehemmm” is like clearing her voice before she starts speaking again. So iconic. Rep is forever iconic.
