@@Number-gs3rv hear me out. So the reasons why I think it’s not close is because jordan surpasses Lebron in a lot of categories. Lebrons only argument is longevity. When you look at jordan, jordan was the better winner. I mean 6-0 in the finals, 2 three-peats is tough to beat. If you look at accomplishments, jordan has more MVPs, steal titles, has the most scoring titles of all time by a long shot, more final MVPs, more DPOTY, and more all defensive first teams. Jordan is obviously the more accomplished player. You can bring up how Lebron accomplished the 30k 10k and 10k club thing, but that’s not something that you get in a season and is a longevity argument which I mentioned; favors lebron. If you look at stats and analytics, jordan blows out Lebron again. Now you might be thinking, Lebron has passed jordan in almost every category, but thats CAREER stats which is a longevity argument. If we look at the 8 traditional stats and use averages, jordan passes Lebron in ppg, spg, bpg, ft%, and turnovers per game. Lebron passes jordan is rpg, apg, and FG%. The thing is, Lebron barely has a higher FG% then jordan. About a third of lebrons shots are dunks and put-backs in an era where it’s relatively easy to get to the rim. For jordan is was 1/7 of his shots that were 0-3 ft. Now if we look at analytics. Jordan is first all time for PER for both playoffs and regular season. Jordan has led the league in win shares more times than Lebron, and Jordan is first all time for win shares per 48 minutes in the playoffs and regular season. Jordan has led the league in box plus minus more than Lebron, and has the highest box plus minus of all time in both the regular season and playoffs. If we look at VORP per game, jordan again has the highest all time in both the regular season and playoffs. Jordan is number one of all time for these analytics in both playoffs and season. If we look at game score which is a stat that determines how good a players game is, jordan has 19 of the top 100 game scores, Lebron doesn’t even have 5. Nearly 1 out of every 5 games for the top 100 games of all time for the last 4.5 decades have been by MJ, including the best one of all time. Nick wright, I think you have your answer for who you want if the aliens invade. Now going back to the traditional stats, if we compare those stats among positions (since some positions get stats easier than others) Lebron, among SF, is 1st in points, 1st in assists, 2nd in rebounding, 3rd in steals, 6th in blocks, 17th in FG% and 107th in Ft%. That’s an average placement of 20. If we even take away free throw percentage, it’s an average of 5th. A main reason for this is again longevity, but jordan is first in points, 4th in assists, 3rd in rebounds, 3rd in steals, 3rd in blocks, 9th in FG%, and 34th in FT%, leaving an average of 8 and if we take away FT% like we did with Lebron since it weighed him down, jordan has an average of 4th. The reason why I brought up the stats comparing them to positions, as I mentioned before was because it’s again a more apples to apples comparison. Brook Lopez averages more rebounds than Jason Kidd, but that’s because he is a center. However, brook Lopez is one of the poorest rebounding centers of all time and Kidd is one of the best rebounding PGs of all time. Now if we do the eye test, Michael jordan in his time was the best offensive and arguably the best defensive player while in the game, had the best work ethic, had the best mid range game, was the most clutch player, was the fiercest competitor, had the best post up game, was one of the best finishers at the rim. Now you can argue that jordan was a poor 3 pt shooter, however he shot 33% from three and on average, players shot 33% from three as well. He was average. That’s arguably his only weakness. Lebron has 5 weaknesses. 1. He is a poor free throw shooter, especially for someone that handles the ball as much as he does. He shoots around 74-75% from the free throw line. 2. He is an inconsistent defender. He has had some years that he has been great on defense, but others where he was really lacked on defense. Lebron fans may argue that he’s resting on defense to carry on offense, but jordan was almost never slacking on defense, no where near the amount that lebron has. In his last 6 of 8 seasons, Lebron hasn’t even made the top 10 on defensive win shares as well. I already mentioned FG%. Tyson chandler and deandre jordan and kareem have a high FG% but that doesn’t mean they are the best shooters of all time. Like I said a third of lebrons shots come from within 3 ft. Outside of 3ft, Lebron, for his career, shoots 38%, in the playoffs shoots 36% and in close and late games shoots 32%. Now lastly, lebrons last weakness is he’s not clutch. If we look at his career for the last 5 seconds of a game for a go ahead bucket, Lebron is 19 for 105 for go ahead game winning or game tying shots for his career with 5 seconds left. That’s a percentage of 18. I think I rest my case with all of this
i wanted to see if flight would react to that half spin against the knicks where he dunked on patrick chewing, i wanted to see if he’d say “that’s curry’s move yo”
@@ethanjones2008 not really only when it comes to avgs and he also played against 6'5 white dudes who couldn't jump when you're talking about career totals its defo lebron only player ever to have 30k 10k 10k
I respected this video the moment he brought up Lebron going toe to toe 4 years with the greatest dynasty of this era and the first 7 years his team didn’t build around him
@@nasirulrich2148 that is just wrong dude, obviously they aren't super big name players especially now but that team had great defence and good enough of a supporting cast. One player doesn't make it to the finals.
To be fair LeBron played with a bum ass cavs team until 2010 when he eventually went to the Heat, Call him a ring chaser or whatnot but who in their right mind would continue to waste their talent with a horrible organization that couldn’t/wouldn’t build a team to revolve around James playstyle , I mean LeBron was the cavs best player in his rookie season
I mean thats the whole argument, he wasnt good enough to play more seasons, as we saw. Jordan is better in most categories, but he's BARELY better in those categories, where as Lebron has almost the same numbers as Jordan, but for much longer.
in my opinion it really comes down to better peak or better longevity like the quote said jordan burned brigher and lebron burned longer the"Goat"is really just preference
One thing I do know I wish Micheal didn't randomly retire for that one year because people believe they coulda won 7 straight then a 3 peat retirement then 3 peat again However you can say the same for lebron The first time he lost to GSW he was without kyrie and love and then he won the second time but the other two he had no chance when they added KD on a 73 win team so if the warriors never added kd I believe lebron would have won at least 1 or two more rings than he has now
It would have been 8 straight cause he retired 1 year came back the next year and lost in the playoffs. I think the rockets team would have beat them tho
What knock lebron legacy as the goat is the lost against the mavs in 2011. Jordan peak is higher than Lebron but lebron peak lasted longer. So at end for me Jordan is the goat
@@Tojohiruma was that in the beginning or end? Beginning!! Nobody never counts Lebron's never making it to the playoffs in his first 3 years. But Jordan did. So that don't hurt Jordan's legacy as much as it doesn't hurts Lebron legacy. But when Jordan was with the Wizards he didn't make it to the playoffs because he was old and had retired twice already. But Lebron has never retired yet. So there's difference. It don't really hurt Lebron's legacy on what he already accomplished during his 19th season but it does disqualify him from being call the Goat period. Some might not have him top 5 after this season. Notice I said some. But at the end you can't blame them for that reason.
3 Houston Rockets in the top 14 all time scorers list. Didn’t know that as a fan myself. Got 2 rings for it and almost had 3. Or 4 if CP3 didn’t get injured in 2018. Don’t look know… Jalen Green is coming.
yes not to mention how young the rockets are with all the potential they have and a lottery pick next year. rockets in 2026 will be something different if they don’t make stupid decisions.
Sad part is even if Lebron overcame all of those things to be the “goat” there will be people or players trying to ruin the rest of his career just so he doesn’t take the goat away from mj
@@masonmalaguti3463 exactly, lebrons longevity is a factor but I personally don’t believe it should be used as much, because the difference is MJ really had nothing to chase, no one to chase, he won 6 rings and was by far considered the GOAT, which prolly made him retire after 13 seasons because he already conquered the nba, meanwhile lebron has something to work for, lebron still has something to chase that’s why he hasn’t thought about retiring yet and what he’s chasing is MJs legacy. That’s why I don’t really look at longevity when comparing both lebron and mj
Mmm. Good point on "sustained excellence" an great work adding context by adding Kareem, Malone, and Kobe on the chart. However, the only way this becomes true is if the NBA omits the Championship and we just end each season on quantitative analytics.
Right. And the pie chart of who fans think is the goat isn’t true. There’s no way there’s only 20% bron fans and 75% mj fans. He has no source for that information
@@youngg3998 actually is it 75 percent jordan but even tho i believe jordan is better there is massive bias towards lbj dude can legit do anything and ppl will hate personally i love him because he built schools around my area and is a very nice person irl unlike mj(ive met both jordan at a part time bowling job and lbj after a game)
for that sustained excellence chart, correct me if I'm wrong. is the first dip when he retired and came back the last part of the season? and the last dip is when we returned as a wizard?
So he going to ignore the fact that Lebron built multiple Superteams lol Could you image Jordan having a Superteam with 2 superstars helping him then getting another Superteam with 2 different superstars helping him.
3 things lebron needs to work on is his 3pt shot, better free throws, and stop crying when the game don't go his way then he somewhat might be close to mj
Here's the truth. Lebron won 3 titles as his teams' primary scorer, facilitator, AND defender. Nobody else has ever even done that once. He is the GOAT.
@@diardlatifi470 Choked in the 2011 finals , missed the playoffs in 2019 and this year. Changed teams 3 times. And scored under 10 points in a finals game. He cannot be the goat
@@JesusisKing77_7 that’s the only argument y’all got. Pippen wasn’t even averaging 10 ppg when he first came in , yall ignore all the context behind that argument. Lebron is 0-8 in finals games by himself 💀
@@makaveli6873 the only argument you have is 2011? Changed teams 3x isn’t even an argument. Also missing the playoffs isn’t an argument either when lebron was injured half the season for 2019. And the fact that you’re saying missing this years playoffs lays on lebron is completely delusional.
yo flight the warriors and lakers played can you react to those because you have to give russ his legal name back (westbrook) because he's had a lot of good games
the only problem i have with this Jimmu Highroller video is that Bron’s longevity kept being brought up which is fine, but needs to stay consistent. Like the advanced stats, it’s sooo much harder to keep your advanced stats as inflated as they were when these players got in the league & their first 10 years. Playing as long as Bron as, of course your advanced stats are gone take a toll. The fact that (in jimmy’s own words) LeBron is only a fraction behind Jordan in those stats is fucking INSANE. MJ’s numbers should be a lot higher

I think he would average about 40 at most. He is a much higher level derozan. But defense is bad today because it’s so spread out. Not because individual defenders have gotten worse.
@@SPEAKYACE each their own but hell no 😂 not gonna write a long ass thing about it... obviously rings and rings alone don't define greatness, he gave you other metrics that support jordan etc lol..
