Same, I’m in year 11 (well not anymore😂) and our school were convinced that we were gonna be back in so didn’t really tell us anything about what we needed for sixth form. Since I’m going to a sixth form college instead of staying at my secondary school it was even harder because of our welcome to college day being cancelled (or postponed depending on how long this lasts), so this video was extremely helpful.
I’m going into year 12 in September, and have been searching for the right stationery haul video, but as soon as I saw the 1975 abeior tshirt, I decided this was the right video to watch haha!
Now I'm kinda glad my mum never let's me buy loads of unnecessary stationary aha. I saved so much money by just using last year's one and I get my text books for free lmao
Oml that sounds like my worst nightmare ahaha putting your hand up in an exam is the worst 😭😭 but zebra do these other pens they’re skinnier than the ones I showed and they’re much much better!! :) x
2:22 I know Megan said she hated these pens but as someone who is left handed they are amazing! They never smudge and you can get them quite cheap in Tesco :)
I use washi tape all the time but I use it for my journal and for making sharp borders on my paintings so the washi tape I bought was pretty boring and sad looking because I wasn’t going to buy pricy tape that I’ll end up using super fast and that’ll just end up in the bin after I finished a painting
i found this video relatively helpful! considering the fact that i'm going into sixth form next year, i was slightly unsure on what to get, where to start and what i'd need and i found this video, tysm! :)
I have somehow accumulated over like 15 exercise books from secondary which are mostly empty so I'm considering just using some of those. I also have plastic folders with polypockets inside but they're fairly small/flat, would that be good enough?
Honestly can someone else do a video about them I have no idea what I’m doing in them subjects 😭 ahaha maybe in a few months time sorry I just feel I don’t have much advice to give xx
Could do! That wouldn’t have worked in my sixth form as we did so much on paper, we didn’t hand in exam questions or any homework online but if your school are more digital then maybe! I know people that do that for uni :)
I am going to use a remarkable (digital paper) for notes because I had so much paper at GCSE. If we need to hand or do things on paper, then I'll switch to paper. But I'll just see what works and good luck 🤞😀
Tawana yeah history was long but enjoyable! English I loved the texts I studied, but I found it such a step up from gcse and really challenging at times. If you go from an A* grade at gcse to a C grade at a level in the beginning that’s actually so normal, so don’t be disheartened. Right to the end I did struggle with eng lit as it didn’t come as naturally as my other subjects. Also didn’t help as I had 4 different teachers by the end of year 13! But, it does equip you with writing skills that will help in your other subjects and the content you’ll learn is so interesting, just be prepared for a challenge xx
Mechanical pencils are worse for the environment and the led inside breaks super quick, so I think normal pencils are better, and the pencil sharpeners with a lid are so quick and you hardly have to empty them :)
I brought a pack of those zebra pens before I saw this because I'm left handed and the way I write it destroys my finger if I'm writing alot I thought I would try these. I held it and I can tell these are gonna do the same thing gReAt PuRcHaSe🤦🏽♀️😔
I’m just proud I didn’t excessively buy stationary, I know it is gonna be hugely different from high school, I’m glad I made the right choices with buying my supplies.
I’m 100% a flashcard person- but I mainly do mine digitally because it’s just a lot less paper. But also I’m mainly using notion for notes and organisation, then I have a paper planner for things in class and then 3 subject note books (I’m taking law, English literature and History) and then a small folder for paper handouts so they don’t get lost. Because I have my iPad where most revision and like my “folders” are going to be. I just think it’ll be so much easier.
Oh wow that's such a good idea!! Back in my day (lol, it was only 2018) I didn't even know what notion was or how to use an iPad for school. Sounds like a plan :) xx
Aw bless! Wishing you all the best (fellow Megan!) see it as an opportunity as you can make loads of new friends but also visit your old friends and then you’ll end up with so many good mates xx
aha revise when you think you should! I revised quite hard for each set of mock exams, did every homework and essay practice, but wasn't planning to properly start revising everyday for hours til late march x
...I'm using my laptop sleeve Herschel bag from year 11... I about the a level calculator, 3 notebooks and some pens and 3 folders from w h smith. Sorted? I mean of I need anything else I can just buy them. (Taking maths, physics, politics and an EPQ in introductory german)
@@a.s4269 my folders were 5.99 each (same as the notepads). I got all the folders in brown and it was 3 for 2. Same with the notepads. I spent like 30 would and only bought 3 notepads, 3 folders and 3 insert pads (they were a fiver for 3)
i’m restarting 6th form again this year (dropped out after 3 months cause u hated the course) and didn’t rlly know what to buy and i ended up with a bunch of random crap so watching this to get a grip :)
I wish I actually knew how to revise for history myself tbh but I can try yeah! Just won’t have the guarantee my methods work as I wouldn’t have my results yet I guess 😂 yeah for sure have deffo noticed that you need to know everything in more depth!’
That’s good to show we usually go shopping for school in year 7 in summer then if we ever need anything we will get them randomly throughout the years but we will never go in the summer or something to get school supplies
@@official1kirsty165 sorry I misinterpreted what you said! here it is though it is currently out of stock, I know whsmith do similar ones but they're probably a little more expensive www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-a4-punched-pocket-wallet/p/0348796 xx
@@MeganMahoney1 I HAVE THOSE GLASSES. OMDS. NHS have a student discount? Since when, and why wasn't I told this 🧐😮 I am slightly older though, I am a uni student.
hi, i know i’m commenting really late but i was just wondering wether you think i should buy graph paper for geography a level i’m going into year 12 in september and if i’m honest i have no idea what to buy for it x
Good luck for results day! I think I only used graph paper once in the whole two years so I wouldn't worry as your teachers will provide you with that. You will have to complete coursework, 20% of the final grade, where all the graphs are done on a computer. Some lessons you might need a calculator but usually the teachers would warn us about those lessons or I'd use my phone x
Megan Mahoney ah thankyou so much, you’ve really calmed me down hahah, as i really didn’t know what to expect:) and thank you! i’m so glad they’ve changed it to teacher predictions x
Ooh hope you have a good year 12! I literally have a video coming out tomorrow all about year 12 advice so you might wanna stick around for that 😎 tho is there anything specifically you wanna know about English lit? I’d be happy to answer specific questions. It’s really hard but super rewarding too xx
