Props to you Timmy and all the young gamers out there. I've loved gaming since I was 5 watching my mom play final fantasy or Zelda at 2 am. I'd wake up and watch for hours. I'd help her when she got stuck every time. Eventually I started playing and 32 years later I'm 36 and get so excited at the opportunities kids have now to explore gaming in a more professional way. I still want to stream and play games for a living but I just don't have the time. 2 kids working 60 hours a week it's tough. Been playing apex since launch and I'm level 350 or so. Went solo to diamond on a TV with so much lag you can take a quick nap before your input shows up on the tv back before masters was a thing. 1.6 kd which is pretty good for someone only playing 5 hours a week if that. I love the drive to improve which apex is the best at bringing out in players. Follow your dreams! Don't end up like me almost 40 working at a job I don't like very much. Also don't rush into having kids. It's much better in your 30s after you've had your time to be a kid yourself. Hell I feel like I did at 16 still. Not sure that's ever going away.

Big balls on you for telling your parents you wanted to pursue gaming They must've been loving and understanding for you to feel free, but still - the fear of disappointing them, of failing, of making the wrong decision, wasting opportunities, wasting your life, being a loser etc... I think lots of people from our generation go through that same dilemma. I struggled with it too and I'm still not sure if I personally made the right choices for myself. I refused to follow the dreams other people had for me but I also struggled listening to myself, so I stayed in a sort of in-between for a long time, unable to really think about the real questions and just living day by day. I'm working on it now, but goddamn is it hard to figure out what to do with your life, like, what YOU really want for yourself, after years and years of trying to please everyone else. I'm glad you found the strength, I know I will one day, and I'm sending my best wishes to anyone who's in a similar situation. Day by day, step by step, we'll make it. Life isn't worth living any other way.
